My husband and I come here for dinner every now and then, especially when the line at Olive Garden is waaaay too long.. There is never a wait, and the service is always very friendly.  The food is also delicious, and price is not an issue at all.  The portion sizes are massive - always have enough to take home the next day for lunch, and they serve these really great garlic biscuits that are just to die for.  Overall, it's no exquisite amazing gourmet place, but it is perfect for a Friday night dinner or just a place to pop into while you're shopping at Woodfield.  Highly recommended :)

I agree with most people in here, go to Cheesecake Factory! Save your appetite and dining experience.

My friend has never been to Ruby Tuesday, and she wanted to try. It was a big mistake. Although I have to say the hostess was super nice and awesome. I wish she was our waitress. But that's pretty much the only thing that I liked about this place. The waitress, Heather, was a horrible waitress. First, she didn't make a eye contact or attempted to smile. She brought us water glasses that had white stains on them. When she was serving plates, she just tossed them on the table. She didn't care if that made the food all go on one side of the plate. Also, when she was brought our plates, she did not explain the plates nor she say "enjoy".  During our dining, she did not even check on us once to say "how was your food/everything going?" The only communication that I heard was at the end when she said "would you guys like dessert?" We would've considered except we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Some of you might think that this is just a server issue. However, I worked at a restaurant before, and if the manager picks this kind of staff, it reflects on how they care about customers.

Now for the food. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. For the same price, I could've gotten a nicer meal at the Cheesecake Factory. In the beginning, you get small dry biscuit thingy (one per person). For entree, I had steak and my friend had seafood. My steak wasn't bad except there were too much pepper and salt. My friend told me her seafood was bit "rubbery". Don't trust the menu pictures, it doesn't come as near as the real food (but then... this goes with any restaurant).

In the end, go somewhere else. In the Woodfield mall area, there are so many other restaurants you can go. There's nothing special or normal about this place.

Opt for the Cheesecake factory instead!!! Upon my arrival at the door, the hostess was pleasant, not overly pleasant, just pleasant. She seated me right away, which was nice.

It took a while for the server to come over to my table. When she did, she was very monotone when she spoke to me. I mean, I know that not everyone likes their job, but at least pretend.

The server took my order, and neglected to ask me if I wanted to try their special. you see, there was a card on the table that stated, "If we don't ask you if you'd like to try our special shrimp fondue, before we take your drink order, you receive the special for free".

About the food: I had the Shellfish Trio, which consisted of a shrimp skewer, with small rubbery shrimp; definitely overcooked. A small lobster tail, which was also overcooked and rubbery. A crabcake, which was too crispy was also included. The rice was mushy, an so was the zucchini. The "chef" at this restaurant seems to overcook everything he makes.
I also tried the mac and cheese, which was also mushy, and had little to no flavor.

For dessert, I tried the Red velvet cupcakes. I was excited to try them because who can mess up red velvet??? Apparently, Ruby Tuesday can! They had little flavor and were not at all moist.

My final comment on this restaurant is this...Before receiving the check, I told the monotone server that she did not ask me about the free shrimp fondue because she didn't ask, she said, "Oh yeah, I forgot...ya want it NOW?" I was irritated with her, as her response was not one of kindness or apologetic in any way. It was one of annoyance that I pointed her mistake out to her. Mind you, I am extremely kind when I am at a restaurant, just as I was in this instance, so to be treated that way, was just unacceptable.

I will not go back to this place.

It's hard to find healthy eating at the mall for a reasonable price. Their lunch menu is interesting with shareable items, combination platters, petite plates, burgers and more!

For $10.99, I had salad from an all-you-can-eat buffet with garlic rolls and chicken quesadillas. The Chicken Quesadillas were 4 triangular slices of torillas filled with grilled chicken, Swiss and cheddar cheeses, fresh pico de gallo and a side of sour cream and salsa.

I made a few trips to the salad bar while I waited for the chicken quesadillas. Because of this, I only managed to eat 2 of the chicken quesadillas. The others I took home and it still tasted good reheated.

Coke refills came while my glass was still half full. I left pretty caffeinated and ready to shop!

If you go to Ruby Tuesday's at Woodfield Mall, use the pepper. In fact, use the pepper, which is fresh, on everything. Because nothing else seems fresh. I went there this past week with my husband and we had the salad bar. Granted, salad bars are not a bastion of freshness anyway, but this one was bad. I had to dig through the cheese to get some that wasn't hard. The lettuce was wilted. All the dressings had skins on them. All of the ingredients were either wilted, filmed over, or frozen.

Good thing the servers are warm and helpful, otherwise this place wouldn't have much going for them...

Cheesecake factory had a 45 minute wait and I was starving so Ruby Tuesday it was. I notice a trend though how a lot of people end up here because Cheesecake is too busy. Sad.

Anyways, the salad bar didn't look too appetizing to me so I got the cajun fish and shrimp. I should have known better to order seafood at a non-seafood restaurant but nothing else on the menu was appealing to me that night.

Fish was flavorless and shrimp was WAY overcooked. I tried a taste of the chicken quesadilla and that was pretty good.

Over $40 for 2 people for a non-satisfying meal. Thats not including apps or dessert.

i really should have gone over to cheesecake factory than this place. this place is a joke. it's overpriced and the food was not even that great.

i ordered the thai phoon shrimp and california club quesadilla.
thai phoon shrimp... are you kidding me? it's like they just covered it in hot sauce. the quesadilla is nothing special.

I hadn't been to Ruby Tuesdays in quite some time, and the Cheesecake Factory had a 30 minute wait, so we decided to come here. No wait- that's a definite plus. It's kinda dark and it was a little warm. We were seated quickly and our server came swiftly as well. We only wanted a snack, so we ordered the Four Way Sampler. The food was pretty greasy but it was tasty. The service is very, very friendly. It is much cheaper than other sit-down restaurants, but not quite the quality as far as food and atmosphere go. I would say come here if you want a drink, snack, dessert, or casual meal- but don't bring a girl here on a date.

I've always loved this restaurant. When I was 16 they gave me a booth in smoking and didn't hassle me, when I was 20 they let me drink, and now I go there with my boyfriend, another couple and their four kids (2 four year old twins, a 6 year old and an 11 year old) and they are amazing about not only giving us a table (quickly), the server is friendly, they tag team us, get the kids fed, are super friendly and make sure that everyone's entertained.

Did I mention the friendly part?

Plus they have like a million flavors of lemonade (now that's fun), iced tea, a full bar (the kid's mom needed that) and you can still smoke there (ironic that I don't, right?)
and the food and salad bar are really quite tasty. Had a burger and the salad bar and it was most excellent!

So three cheers for what will always be one of my home town favorites. Sure it's a chain, but ya know? chain isn't synonymous with bad. Sometimes it just means reliably good ;-)

I would never actually pay to eat here.  Luckily for them I was really hungry and I had a free gift card.
I have to honestly say that this was one of the best Ruby Tuesday locations.  The burger I ordered was cooked to order and tasted really good.  The fries were also fried perfectly.

The only real problem was my lunch took place on a day when every manager in the Ruby Tuesday chain was at this location for a meeting.
I can handle one person asking how my meal was, but being asked 13 times is a little excessive.

I actually got to the point of just making up shit to fuck with them.

This is one of the places that my lunch crew will typically go to once every two weeks or so.  The salad buffet is what really brings us in, as well as their cheap lunch menu.  The mini burgers / mini buffalo chicken sandwiches + salad bar is what I will typically order.  If they didn't have their salad bar, this place wouldn't be worth it.

I tried the zucchini burgers once and they were just full is oil and grease, so I don't recommend those.

Believe it or not this was my first time at (a) Ruby Tuesdays.
My friend and I were shopping at Woodfield and got a little hungry.
She suggested Ruby Tuesdays for their salad bar.

For $8, you have unlimited salad bar with a limited variety.
For me, there were more than enough veggies to make my custom salad. For ones with pickier tastes - the choices may not be enough.

We didn't try any of the food off the menu or any of the drinks.
I think there is a Ruby Tuesdays closer to where I live, so I might try it out again.

Probably one of the best Ruby Tuesdays I've been to ever. The burgers we got were freaking delicious, especially because we had just come from IKEA and were starving and grumpy. Granted, it was still a Ruby Tuesdays, so with that, I cannot give it more than a solid three stars. It's just not fair to the non-chain restaurants out there.

This was an okay restaurant. The food is good, but seems limited; the only thing that interested me was the burgers, since I don't really like salad bars. That being said, if you want a burger, they have about 15 for you to choose from.

The server was friendly, and attentive. one thing that I found strange was that they don't give free refills on their strawberry lemonade, possibly the only lemonade they do that with. It seems that so many other restaurants that have a similar price range do give refills.

It is great when you get their 8.99 miniburgers with the fresh salad bar. i always eat too much salad there, and end up not finishing their turkey burgers, which by the way are excellent. Their drinks are awesome too(even though they poured bigger portions) -- any place that puts pomegranate prominently on their menu scores +1 from me.

Totally my favorite chain restaurant place in Chicago's Northwest suburbia -- now I don't have to suffer through the dread of Portillo's, Chili's and their kin.

This was my first time coming here, and i have to admit, that i actually enjoyed it here. i thought it was kinda funny how everything they brought out to you was on square shaped plates! kinda unique!
the salad bar is really great, with a wide variety of pastas, beans, lettuce, beets, cheese and stuff like that. only suggestion to ruby tuesdays is to add maybe kidney beans and like those chinese crouton things. but otherwise, fabulous! and its all you can eat! EVEN BETTER!

Our server was great and very attentive.  The food was just alright.  It was definitely oversalted.  Also, the ketchup comes in a little shallow cup.  I used one cup and it only covered half my burger.  I told our server to bring out a man's portion of ketchup so he brought me four cups which helped.  The restaurant itself is in desperate need of a good scrubbing and a remodel.  The places is a bit sticky and smells of oil.  Since The Cheesecake Factory is right across the hallway, the shabbiness is even more noticeable.  I won't be back if I can help it.

I had a business dinner and they chose Ruby Tuesday.  I mentioned it to a friend and they said they place was awful and dirty.  With that in mind, I wanted to go basic with my meal.  I decided on the salad bar and soup.  The salad had a big variety of fresh ingredients and my broccoli and cheese soup was good.   I was happily surprised to find the place in clean condition.  On my next visit I will be a more adventurous with my menu choices.  I was extrememly thirsty and must have had 5 glasses of water but our server made sure my glass never went empty.

Spent the day shopping and was starving - Cheesecake Factory had a wait so we decided to try Ruby Tuesday's since it was next door.  I was really impressed that this was not like TGI Fridays or one of those other god-awful places.  The salad bar was great (a mix of lettuces, including tender baby greens, sliced zucchini, crumbled blue cheese and other high end items).  We tried the triple-prime burger, which was really great and a chicken dish that was surprisingly good.  Great service, not too hard on the wallet...overall, a great option if you are out in the burbs avoiding the Michigan Ave crowds (or if it is raining...god love free parking also!!!)

I really like the restaurant but I have a problem with the lack of "healthier" options.  If you don't, then go here.  I don't know if they still have the "Colossal Burger", but back at NIU, I would polish one of these monstrosities off *and* the fries.  I love it!  It became a favorite for lunch at the Vernon Hills location too!

This was my first time coming to this RT but my mom has this thing for salad bars so instead of spending a chunk of change on Cheesecake Factory which is right next door by the way we decided to get our Salad Bar on. I have to say I have been to the one out in Melrose Park and this one by far is cleaner, staff is nice, and the salad bar was full of everything that they offered. We decided to order a crab cake for appetizer. It was actually pretty good. I think if I want a great salad and I am in the area I will certainly check them out again
