Been eating at Royal Treasure for well over 10 years. It is a small family run restaurant. Food is consistently good and reasonably priced. Try the General Tao's Chicken and the noodle dishes. Service is usually pretty fast.

I'm not sure what it is about this place but when they're "comfort" Chinese food is on I enjoy eating it. When it's not then I get a massive stomach ache and every so often I roll the dice!!!
The portions are massive and for the price in Ottawa it really can't be beat. The food isn't bad when the kitchen is on. The fried rice, fried noodles and a few other items I do order for pick up (when it's not OVERLY oily) is decent. When it is overly oily you'll be paying a steep price.
I haven't tried the other items on the menu...I think to many Chinese restaurants on Somerset focus on trying to get every crowd and don't end up doing dishes well so I usually avoid them. The last time I rolled the dice I lost and was curled up in the fetal position for a bit. -

I've heard good things about the General Tao's chicken here so I decided to try it for myself. I thought it was so greasy I couldn't finish it and got a bit of a belly ache afterwards, it was bright red and was just chicken, no veggies or anything, I found it to be quite bland and they were stingy on the sauce. The spring rolls were also unbelievably greasy, some actually dripped on my shirt which will suck to get out, they were however quite good besides the grease.
