I was snackish. I checked out ABC Euro Deli but came out empty handed.
Few steps away, a board-sign of Cookies and Coffee pulled me forward.
A Persian shop, think miniature-version of bigger shops along Yonge st.
Baklavas, Cookies, Cakes in the display case/fridge.
Can Goods, Bottles, Jars, Nuts, Drinks along the wall.
Shirini-e Keshmeshi (Raisin & Saffron Cookies)
Most Cookies($1.99/100g) are priced the same.
Took this one esp for my Friend(who likes all things Raisins)
Shirini-e Yazdi (Cardamom & Rosewater(?) $0.99)
These Muffins were at the counter near the register.
The Man kind of sold me on this actually.
Muffin has a refreshing taste to it, interesting.
As I stood at the counter, eyes were attracted by plastic containers.
These containers had colorful ABSTRACT composition very art-like.
I like to think of it as a version of Buffet-Regurgitation.
Either way, for under Three Dollars I was happy to buy this product "Ash".
The Gentleman even offered to microwave it for me on the spot to enjoy.
I kindly rejected the offer and decided to bring it to a Yelp Lab-Rat.
Apparently it has an overwhelming taste of Goat Milk, reeally?
Now I'll keep the Ash in the fridge until further notice.
Update------
Ash (Ash Reshteh $2.90)
Reminds me of a soupy, beanier version of Egypt Koshari.
This one has a strong Dill aspect more than other herb/spices.
I kind of like this Thick Soup, not quite Vegetarian(Whey Dairy add). -

Takeout/delivery from my dear friend is always sweet... especially when they are treats like cookies and muffins...
To my surprise, Saffron Raisin Cookies ($1.99/100 g) are A-OK, it must be as I ate 2 of them and still alive! The raisins goes well with the Saffron and give the cookie quite a distinguish taste. Just enough sweetness and great texture.
Muffins ($0.99) is light and has a hint of orange peel and cardamon. Soft and airy... Perfect size and taste to go with coffee (where is my coffee?)
Ash ($2.90) in a tub is not my kind of soup/pasta. Spaghetti, chicken peas, split peas, herbs, caramelized onion and spiced by curry and cumim. I should have love the hint of spiciness but that overwhelming taste of goat milk is too much for me..
BTW, I would love to have those cookies anytime (hint?)... or some other baked goods from Royal, but I might have to pass on the ash....
*Can I give a 4 star to my Yelp Friend?
