Put seat belts on your taste buds because they are going for a ride!
This place has items that burst with flavor. Try their ginger beef the best in town, the right combination of spicy hot, sweet, and savory all blending to a "to die for taste"! as a friend of mine said. Their Dai Ching chicken is spicy so get a tall cool glass of ice water ready for the squeamish taste buds. Dai Ching crab is the tastiest crab dish in town and the orange peel chicken sinsationally hot! Royal Fortune a favorite for the local East Indians who like a kick to their Chinese food. Their homemade chilli sauce is so flavorful but be careful it may bite back! Rice is bottomless here too! Try not to get there Monday or Tuesday seems their chef's days off. Wed. they are closed. Great deals for lunch because it comes with entree, soup and steam rice for $8-10.Listed in: Jet Fuel For Your Tongue

Your typical Chinese resto w/ average decor, but one comes here for the food.
Server recommended the lunch special which was something like less than $8, wow. good-size portion of the shredded pork w/ egg plant in a flavourful chili sauce.
Only reason why not a four star is that these are a dime a dozen place. For this area, I prefer Frasercourt just a few more blocks down the street. Mind you, during lunch, it's terribly full in here.
Closed Wednesdays. -

I finally made it in here on my city wide search for great ginger beef. RFSR did not disappoint! I arrived to only one other large party there, but a couple more groups arrived during my stay. The decor was exactly as you'd expect, rather spartan with ancient fixtures but clean and inviting. I ordered the lunch special with corn soup on the side. The tea, soup and rice arrived first- hot and fast- nice! The rice came in a big round self serve thermos- a bit odd but it was apparently bottomless so that was cool. The corn soup...not awesome, a bit gelatiney but the flavor was ok. And now,.....LEGEN............wait for it..................DARY ginger beef!!! A beautiful mix of savory and sweet and crunchy, with lots of green onion, fresh ginger chunks mixed in there. I'll be back for sure!

Review from Masaki L.
Richmond, BC
I used to go there a lot in the past before I moved to Richmond for quite a few years. My wife and I went there today cuz we had a chance to drive by and all of a sudden we wanted to eat Szechuan/Shanghai kind of food today. ;b
I recognized there is the same old owner since many years ago. Environment didn't change much either. We ordered Dan Dan noodles (a very famous dish, which is noodles in hot and spicy peanut soup. And the Szechuan style is a little different to Shanghai style.), wonton in hot & spicy sauce, sliced pork with garlic, and Xiu Long Bao.
The noodles (one of my most favorite dishes) and the wonton were very tasty. And the pork was surprisingly served with some chopped lightly salted & sour veggies, which gave the pork a more special taste. However, the XLB was the worst I've ever had! (I forgot if I had eaten this in the past though) I understand Szechuan style is different to Shanghai style, yet despite which style it was, the "bread" part was a little too thick and the meat stuffing was too "loose" in texture and the overall taste was just so so. Service was still quite friendly though and price was very reasonable.
The down side was, both my wife and I felt very thirsty after back home. We drank lots of water but still feeling dry throat. In other words, their MSG was a little too much.
I'll give 3.5 star.
