After our miserable experience with AMA Driving School, we went out in search of another hands-on driving school. Let me just do a little compare and contrast for you. This describes the difference better than anything else I can say:
AMA: Hold please. I will have to transfer you. Can I place you on hold?
Royal Driving School: Hello, may I help you?

AMA: You will need to sign up for the course and it costs $800, not including GST. No we can't book your appointment. You need to talk to the driving instructor directly. (hassle around with reaching the instructor, weeks pass.)
AMA Driver: Unintelligible - instructor not really able to speak English. Instructor becomes petulant even on the phone. Bad vibes.
AMA Driver: I don't have any time available for the next two months.
Royal: No problem. I'll sign you up to drive right now. We charge $60 per hour and can take your credit card over the phone. How does day after tomorrow sound?

AMA: Driving instructor does not show up, blames us.
Royal: Driving instructor shows up on time and cheerful.

AMA: Driving instructor takes teenage daughter out for a drive. Can't even explain how to park in a parking lot. Teenage daughter comes home in tears, never wants to drive again, claims she will "just take the bus for the rest of my life."
Royal: Driving instructor shows kindness and encouragement. Daughter comes back happy and well instructed. Can't wait to drive again the next day.

AMA: New driving instructor requested. No availability for three months.
AMA: The day arrives, but the driving instructor does not. No phone call, no nothing. Called the driving instructor. No call back. Asked for money back from AMA.
Royal: Daughter comes home very happy from her second lesson in two days, having learned how to parallel park. Driving instructor booked a new appointment with her without hassle. Instructor left teenage daughter feeling good about herself, having received plenty of positive feedback and excellent driving instruction.
Royal is in a completely different universe from AMA. I wish I had known about Royal from the beginning. They are fantastic. -

Maria does a good job. We have 3 young drivers and we switched to Royal after a bad experience .Our next driver thought Royal was good. Now 2 years later out 3rd one is going for lessons and Royal will take care of him too....
