I am always on the hunt for the a great burger so after reading a few Yelp reviews about this place I thought I would pop in and give it a try. It reminded me of a cross between a bar and old fashioned diner but the atmosphere was quiet and casual.

Seeing as this was a my only meal before starting a long day at work i went with the double Roxy burger with bacon and cheddar. The burger came out in about 10 min and i was a little disappointed with the presentation. It looked very sloppy and like no time had been put into putting it together. The burger itself tasted decent but the double patty was probably overkill and the taste of meat overpowered my mouth. The bacon was nicely crispy and the rest of the ingredients tasted crunchy and fresh. The fries however were waaaaaaay too salty so i ate a few and just left the rest :p

All in all i enjoyed my dining experience at Roxys and would probably go back to try some of their more unique burger combinations!!!

A casual burger & beer joint in the Granville Entertainment zone - perfect for some late night grub, pre- or post-drink, any night of the week.

We came  for some late night eats after seeing Sherlock Holmes 2 at The Scotiabank Theatre. It was relatively busy (half full), considering if was 1AM on a Tuesday. We had:

    - Lamb Burger (7.3/10). Not bad, flavourful with rosemary, garlic and tzakziki
    - Chicken Strips (7.6/10). Very crispy, and great if you're craving it
    - Famous Roxy Fries (5/10). Not crispy, very unimpressionable

Similar to: the bar in How I Met Your Mother

Roxy Burger has a decent size menu of burgers and since I haven't tried anything else, I decided on the standard Roxy Burger.  It is an 8oz sirlon burger with pickle, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mustard and mayo.  The burger came with fries which I thought were average.  The burger itself was not overseasoned and  didn't taste too fatty, - which I liked.  The only issue was the dryness.  I felt the burger was just a tad bit dry, but eating it with the pickle really helped.

I only ate half the bun, a quarter of the fries and of course the whole patty, but I was full.  It didn't feel too greasy but I left feeling satisfied.

The service was great. It is rare to get good service, however I would attribute this to the waitress and not the rest of the staff. The burger was mediocre at best and the double long island tasted like a single watered down. The fries clearly came straight out of a frozen food bad and had no seasoning. It is simply a burger and a beer kind of place but failing on the burger part. Mind you it wasn't pukeable, but it wasn't special. I will give it a decent.

So in conclusion,  good for beer end of story. It is super dirty too, so if you are a germaphobe stay far away from this filthy place.

Where Vancouver's drunks meet for a late nite snack.

I have always ordered the same thing.  A Roxy Burger, fries, and a order of onion rings.  I have enjoyed every Roxy Burger I've ever eaten.  They are a big messy burger and hit that special spot that starts to clear your head after a night of too many beers.

The ambiance is very dineresque.   They have TVs.  They have a bar.  It works.

The service can be spotty.  At times, it is blazing fast.  At others, it can be difficult to get someone to acknowledge that you are there.

The wrap up is that if you are hungry for some late nite greasy food then the Roxy Burger can hit the spot.

Roxy burger is located near work, so it's a constant stop for lunch time burger cravings.  My favorite is always the turkey burger.  It's a good substitute for a beef burger and has plenty of flavour and taste.  It is piled high with the all the right ingredients and you leave feeling full and satisfied.

There are plenty of options for sides as well.  I recommend fries over their healthier Caesar or mixed green salads.  The latter tend to be soggy or have excessive dressing.

One of the best choices on the menu, however, are the chicken wings.  They are not wings, but thighs, and they basically taste like awesome.  Although the flavour choices are not as diverse as Wings on Granville, the taste and texture far exceeds Wings.

The atmosphere is casual and the servers are friendly.  It is livelier at night but a nice break from the office during the day.  Roxy Burger is one of my top choices for burgers around town.  The only downside is that appies, meals, and drinks for two are approximately $60, a bit pricey for just burgers.

Definitely not a 4 star, but I will give the Roxy Burg a 4 because they play UFC fights without cover, I have always been able to get a good spot, and honestly, their burgers are not bad - this coming from a serious burg aficionado.

That being said, do NOT go here on UFC nights (I don't want my tables to get taken!)   :)

I've heard the food here is pretty decent so I dropped in last week with a few people since we were in the area.

I was stuck between ordering the veggie burger, which apparently has a soy patty made special for Roxy Burger, and the mac and cheese. I think its fairly obvious that I went with the mac and cheese. I always do.. plus it was a bit cheaper than the burger and fries. A good deciding factor!

The mac and cheese was alright. It had a nice baked crispy topping but the sauce didn't seem to be sticking to the noodles very well. A lot of the noodles around the sides of the dish were naked and slightly dried out from being baked. For the most part I enjoyed it though. I got a slight hint of bell pepper flavour in the topping too.

I wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. Though I am curious to try this special soy patty...

All week long I'd had mad cravings for a veggie burger. I was tempted a few times to grab a quick, inferior burger but I'm glad I waited. I'd never been to Roxy Burger before, but I was drawn in by hopes of awesomeness.

It was pretty quiet for 7:00 on a Thursday evening, but that was fine by me. They had $6.50 doubles on special and a lonnng burger list. I was happy! I decided to construct my own burger, choosing what kind of bun I wanted, a veg patty and lotso' condiments. I was in burger heaven the whole meal. Their fries were nothing special, so I hardly touched them. Oh, and they claim their veg patty is specially made for them but I've had it many places before. It's a pretty generic patty, but it was still a tasty burger. Mmm.

I found the prices to be good, the flavour and quality of the food to be spot on and the staff were nice and attentive. Solid 4 stars!

Slightly dry patty, yet decent burger.  The fries are very good.  Ordered Rickard's White and it was slightly sour tasting, not sure if they had a keg problem.

    Hello hello BURGER

I love burgers yummy... I ordered their signature burger, I think it's the Roxy's burger or something, with guacamole in it. It was alright. It was big, alright. However I can't really taste the guacamole, and the patty was dry. I ordered the poutine fries on the side, and that was quite good. My friend ordered the fries with cheese, bacon and cream. THAT was delicious. I recommend that instead.

The service was alright, nothing too special. The price is decent, probably around $15 for the burger and poutine.

I don't know if I'm coming back here, there's nothing too special about this place. It is just a bar anyway so yeah. But, check this place out if you have the time and dough!

We found this restaurant by accident when walking along Granville st during lunch time. Ordered Roxy Burger and Lasagna. The restaurant almost empty, only four, including us seated. Lasagna comes with salad and Roxy Burger comes with fries, but they're soggy and burned a little. Burger was pretty good, but the lasagna was better than the burger.
The prices are quite reasonable. We probably won't be back next time.

    * Please don't call that poutine! *

I tried the "poutine" here.  And I put that in quotes for a reason.

    My issues:

    1)  Some sort of non-decipherable fully melted cheese ala cheese fries or bad tex-mex nachos.

    2)  Unexplainable amounts of steam coming from the plate - as if the gravy had been microwaved about 20 minutes too long!  (Even a single minute would be a no-no in my book - but I digress!)

    3)  Soggy, soggy fries

    4)  The entire plate seems to have been put in a salamander and browned so that much of the completely melted cheese had brown crisp parts.

    This is a definite skip!

A few things on my Trip To Canada To-Do List:
o  Get a shopping cart full of Cheezies
o  Smoke a Cuban (the cigar)
o  Eat some fries & gravy

Late on a Saturday night, Roxy Burger fulfilled the latter item.  It was close to last call, and we were on the hunt for late night food after a night of Cuban Salsa dancing.

With "burger" in the name of this joint, I knew this place had to have fries & gravy.  I leaped from the car when we were at the intersection and ran in serpentine-like through the busy late-night crowd on the Granville street.

    BOOM:  "We're open 'till 4am"
BA-BOOM:  "Yes, we serve fries & gravy"

I ordered a couple of dinners to go and I was able to easily cross off a to-do item.

As for the food, it was decent.  The fries or the gravy were a tad bit salty, but they were still good.  My burger was definitely yummy.  The staff were pretty nice, and the bar offered a nice place to people watch and catch up on sports highlights on their many TVs.

First time at Roxy Burger and was very, very pleased with everything about it :)   A friend and I were on our way to see a concert at the Vogue and didn't think we were going to have time to eat before getting there.  As it was, we were there with an hour before the concert started and since Roxy Burger is right next door, we thought we'd give it a try.  We had no idea if the food was decent or real bad... we just needed something to tide us over!

Well, from the moment we walked in, the place felt great!  The greeting from the fellow behind the bar was welcoming and friendly.  The place itself, is small but there were only a handful of tables taken so we grabbed ourselves a table for two.  Megan was our waitress... well, she was everyone's waitress since she was the only one on duty.... but she could handle all the tables with ease.   And soooo friendly!  One would understand if she was a bit flustered since she was the only server, but she was cool, calm, and personable!

Since we had time to actually eat before the concert... I had the Chicken Pot Pie and my friend had the hot Spinach Dip.  We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.  The chicken pot pie was probably one of the better ones I've had in a long, long time... and it came with a very fresh garden salad that was crisp and exactly what you would expect from a good garden salad.

I now have found a new favourite casual eating place in the heart of downtown.  Will I be back??  You betcha!!  The menu has oodles of things to choose from, obviously burgers being the popular choice... but still, lots of other things to choose from if you either are not into burgers or don't feel like one.

    Thank you Roxy Burger!!!

2 star for food, 1 star for service/price. So 1.5 overall.

I passed Roxy Burger a bunch of times on my way into the City Center and considering the name, I thought this would be more of a burger shack than a bar (especially since the Roxy is next door and that's where you go for the nightlife). Not the case. I wanted to grab a quick burger before a night out, so didn't want to start drinking at dinner. Pretty much everyone else was drinking, and not even eating, and when we asked for water instead of beer I sensed judgement and irritation from the waiter. On top of all of this, we sat and waited for 30 minutes for our food to come out. That is a little ridiculous considering most pubs can put out food, especially popular items, in 10 minutes or less.

Since the food took so long to get out of the kitchen, and since this place is called Roxy BURGER I was hoping that 30 minute wait was going to gain me an amazing burger. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the burgers at all. I am a bit of a buffalo burger enthusiast so whenever I have the opportunity I will order it. DO NOT get it here. I was extremely disappointed to see that all the burgers look like they were frozen patties as opposed to fresh meat, and the buffalo patty tasted like processed gunk. It was also very measly compared to the beef patty and was really dry and overcooked, it barely even tasted like meat. My boyfriend got the Canadian Roxy (signature burger with bacon and cheddar added), and it was much less disappointing even though the patty was still from frozen and pretty dry compared to regular burger standards. On the plus side, the fries were pretty good and tasted fresh.

On top of all of these disappointments, the bill came out to $30 just for two burgers. Definitely way over-priced. I have a feeling that Roxy Burger somehow boasts their reputation based on reviews from people who stumble in for 3am drunk food and can't tell the difference.

For a local bar I thought this place was okay.  The drinks were reasonably priced but surprisingly their club next door was cheaper.  The bartenders were very cool as well as their patrons.

Would I go there on my next trip... Maybe.  But I would definitely check out other spots before I'd make that decision.

i visited roxy burger recently and experienced some of the worst service in my entire life. i wasn't expecting much when we walked in but  honestly after this i would rather eat off the ground outside than deal with the hostility from the waitress we had the delight of serving us.  when we walked in, the guy working the bar was friendly, about the only highlight of the entire experience.

the waitress was indifferent from the very beginning, not helpful in offering suggestions on what to eat as neither of us had eaten here before. i ordered the poutine, which was advertised to have cheese curds like poutine should.  but what i received was definitely not cheese curds.  it tasted alright but not what the menu described.  my friend, ordred the monster wings, which aren't wings but chicken thighs.  while eating these 'wings', my friend kept getting shards of the chicken bone chipping off in the meat. upon complaint, the waitress said 'thats just how they are cut, they are always like that'  also one of the wings was so undercooked that it was still pink.  that was another complaint that was completely blown off by the waitress, just saying 'thats how it is'. i don't know about you, but i don't think that chicken is supposed to be pink.

the fire alarm went off for at least 10 minutes non stop while we were there.  not sure why, but there was no apologies offered or anything, we just had to sit there and deal with it.  my friend twisted the arm of our waitress to get a free drink because the bar sure as hell wasn't offering anything.

Who doesn't like a greasy burger? Commies, that's who.  Fortunately we live in the land of the freeish, and so Roxy Burger is all ours.

Cheap grub, cheap drinks and many screens.  I love catching the game at this spot.

Make sure you sit at the bar, the tender will frequently pour some concoction in a shot glass for all those in his vicinity.  Sure they are putrid sugary shooters, the kind to make a teenage girl's heart palpitate.  But it's free.

BUrgers looked decent, but they did not seem very prepared for the Olympic crowd.  And I understand that the servers are working really hard, but that's no reason for her to give a snarky attitude to her customers. And plus, they must be raking in the dough being located right on Granville during the Olympics.  Maybe it's a bad way to look at it, but I expect if I'm paying for drinks and service, the service should be friendly, or at least, not rude.

The nicest guy there was the guy at the door.

If I come back, it will be well after the Olympics.

I just came back from a nite out in town ad I stopped at roxy burger to grab a bite and a drink:)
I had the chicken burger and I found it quite decent. My bf had the chicken burger as well, but with a side of poutine( extra 3.50$) The burgers were fine and you could actually see the real chicken breast on it:) the poutine was ok too, not the best but it was pasable!
We also tried the double long island iced tea, and it was pretty good!
Te bill came up to 50$ before tips.....
I recommed this place for the start of the nite or if you want to watch an ufc game:

Roxy burger was my neighbourhood bar! this, and cafe crepes.

so it's one of the few places that open late. i think 3am? and the kitchen past midnight. which is fantastic/rare for vancouver. great drink specials during weeknights. their fries are really good.

what sucks is lack of seating. it's relatively a small place. i often had to sit in those bitch seats directly across from the bar! where everyone heading to pee would bump into me.

Though downtown offers a lot of food options, things aren't necessarily that great if you're looking for a greasy burger. Roxy burger is likely your best option on the Granville strip.

Basically a pub masquerading as a restaurant, Roxy offers all you'd expect from a burger joint. Their fries are fine and the burgers are restaurant style but there's really nothing that makes them pop and no hook to to make them stand out from other burgers, but still, if you want a solid burger/fries combo this is the place to head along Granville.

Any connoisseur is better suited to finding a Vera's or Fat Burger around but at least Roxy has the charm of being one of a kind and serving enough booze to put the others to shame.

Good music, people, food, and TVs :)

At the gym, my husband and I realized there was a Duke-UNC basketball game playing, so we cut our workout short and ran down the street looking for a pub where we could watch it while eating dinner (aka adding to the carbs we didn't burn off). Luckily, we found Roxy. A hockey game was finishing up, so they gladly changed the channel for us, wahoo!

Every day of the week Roxy offers a special -- it was Wednesday, which meant Wings and Beer for only $4 each. Bad news: waitress wouldn't let me order beer since I didn't have my ID. Good news: Wings and Mini Burgers were satisfying on their own.

Bonus good news: Roxy's kitchen is open every day until 4am! Dang!

Nothing wrong with this little burger joint. It is right in the middle of the bar district and know who it's clientele is. Drunk or about to get drunk, Roxy Burger will have you covered.

More than once I have ended up here if the lineups are long at any particular night club I was late getting to.

Went to this place during the Olympics. Some pecker at the door shoved me out of the way as I tried to open the other door. He pushed me out of the way and said, I don't think so. I told him I'm already inside (my sister, and 4 other friends were inside) and he was just being an absolute ass. This guy wasn't even wearing a badge, or any indication he was working there, so I just assumed he shoved me for no reason. I told him I wanted to speak to his manager and the manager aplogized but was too busy to do anything and just went back inside. Before going out to a concert at The Commodore we usually like to grab some easy eats.  The past two times we've hit the Roxy Burger.  They have tons of tables suitable for big groups.  Every night they've got drink specials on like pints for $4.  Their food is reasonably priced standard burger joint fare and totally edible.  Last night I had the Buffalo Burger.  It was flavourful, the chipotle sauce packed punch.  Buffalo is a lean meat so it can tend to be dry but even though the patty wasn't super thick it was fine.  My hubby had a regular burger which he scarfed down without any complaints.  He was very excited about the fact that the fries looked handmade.  I tried one and it was tasty and not too greasy.  Two burgers and four pints came to $35.  We've only ever had really friendly service at this place and the music is always good for getting you in the mood for a concert.

I wish there was a place like this in Portland. There probably is we just haven't come across it yet. We went here between 3-4AM, yes AM. We got hungry late at night...and wanted to venture out and find a late night place to eat. Thanks to Yelp and Vancouver's relative feeling of security to walk the streets at night...we decided to hit the street and check out "Roxy". We simply had a Diet Coke and an order of Chicken Fingers & Fries. The best part about this was the Door Man...he was on guard to keep the RIFF-RAFF out...Bums know where to gather...we had one follow us Shaking his Cup full of Change behind us...we didn't turn around...and he quick once we got to the Door Man. Thanks to the Roxy Burger for their late night eats and their safe haven. ;)
