I AM SO GLAD THEY REMODELED THIS PLACE!

I remember coming up for ski lessons and the lodge wasn't even there and the only place to eat was the tiny little Pika's restaurant.

Everything in here is obviously WAY overpriced. But I love their burgers. Not a fan of poutine...just can't do it.

On a busy weekend though this place gets PACKED!

This is the largest restaurant in Canada. You heard me right. It's HUGE. I love that they have baked potatoes all the time. There's something about a baked potato after a morning of boarding that just really hits the spot. The Asian bowls Just about everything else on the mountain is from Sysco, so you will have most likely had it someone else before.
Despite it being meter by meter larger than any other restaurant in the country, this place still gets packed. Even though it's smaller, Pika's downstairs has more seating than the upstairs Roundhouse proper. Pika's serves the basic mountain food only.

The Roundhouse Lodge at the top of the Whistler Village Gondola (and next to the Peak-2-Peak) is awesome. In particular, I'm talking about the cafeteria that you can find when you go up the stairs, straight, and then a right into the food area. They have soups and sandwiches and a bunch of Asian dishes, such a pho and noodles soups, and my recommendation: the steamed dumplings in a light miso broth. They were out of the chicken sesame dumplings, so  I had the vegetable ones, which were still excellent. You get 8 dumplings, artfully arranged in one of those pasta bowls with the wide edges, with a sprinkling of pickled carrots (and possible daikon), a good amount of tasty broth, and a drizzle of spicy thai sauce. Yum! For $10 (after tax), it's a filling snack, and a nice healthy change from traditional ski food, but it probably wouldn't be enough of a full lunch for me when snowboarding. Beware that they do frequently run out, and they close early-ish (2 or 2:30), so don't wait until the end of the day (as I did - left empty-handed and disappointed)!
The Roundhouse Lodge also has complementary water that is located by all the utensils and condiments. Nice touch.

I think it was well after the college days when just spending money to eat at the resort is fine.  No more needing to bring out the cold and smushed sandwiches we put in our bags to go snowboarding.

And in Lake Tahoe, I said Northstar had the best food.  Thus far, Whistler has got the best.  They've got a fine establishment with pretty much every cuisine meeting everyone's taste buds.  For one of my lunches, I came here to Roundhouse and got me the following(http://static.px.yelp....):

    - Fish Cod Sandwich with Fries - BIGGG piece of crispy fish.....I'm very proud of my choice
    - Mountain size Brocolli Chedder to share.  For $10 you might as well get this and split with 1-2 other people.  Soup is always a plus to make up fo the cold.
    - and to top off with a Stella......SO good.

This lodge is in a great location. Right in the upper center of Whistler peak next to the Peak to Peak gondola. I had a Kokanee on draft for under $5. At Lake Tahoe, a beer cost me $12 on the mountain. So obviously I was really excited. My boyfriend got some really good banana bread and they had a good selection of teas. We didn't stop to eat at any other areas of the lodge, but I saw a good looking dumpling counter from where I was sitting. The lodge also has a great look out area where you can eat and an official Whistler store that had a better selection than the store in the village. Overall one of the nicer lodges I've ever been in and definitely in one of the most beautiful locations!
