The only other time I saw such a complete dollhouse specialty store was when I was about 10 years old, while vacationing in Winnipeg, MB.
Ross' Miniature Treasure House is certainly NOT a tiny house displaying gems. It is a specialty hobby shoppe for all wonderful dollhouse things/furniture/additions/houses/etc. It has been standing for 26+ years and, though it is very difficult to maintain such a specialty shoppe, these owners seem to have found a relatively sustainable location that encourages some profitability.
It is a little out of the way if you life in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, but you will not be sorry that you made the trip. This store houses everything and anything that you have ever imagined for your dollhouse, or for someone else's hobby. I still remember the prices some 20 years ago in Winnipeg being outrageous for the miniatures, but Ross' Miniatures are priced at incredibly reasonable costs!
The quality of the furniture and dollhouses are outstanding, so you also are investing in great product. You can find everything from the teeniest sushi rolls, to bunk beds, to queen Anne dining room sets, to silverware, to workable lighting fixtures, to spare parts for house renovations (including crown moldings, shingles, etc. etc. etc. ETC.)
Service/owners are very friendly and helpful - and most importantly, not pushy at all! My only caution is to be alert of the time, as the store has pretty condensed hours of operation.
Open: Tuesday thru Saturday - 9:30 to 4:00
