Rosie's is a great place to grab a bite in Victoria. The eggs benedicts are great - some of the best I've ever had. Along with the hash, the cost is very very reasonable. And there is a lot to choose from the menu if you don't like breakfast. And I enjoy all of the diner like things on the wall (ok, I'm a Marilyn and Elvis fan).
Friendly and fast service, great food at a good price. -

I'm not sure if there's another place in town where throughout the day you can order an eggs benedict with a milkshake to wash it down (John's Place?). For this reason alone, Rosie's deserves a shout out.
But speaking of the bennie, it's theirs may be the most expertly executed one I've had in Victoria (and this is tough to do, as there are at least 20 restaurants in victoria which serve them). They make their own hollandaise and it's not too viscous, but it isn't too thin either. And it has a nice lemon flavor, but I did have to add a little bit of salt. But I'd rather something be undersalted than oversalted.
Rosie's is great for comfort food and some oldies on the jukebox. -

Bleargh. I wanted to like it better.
The coffee was all right. My boyfriend has the breakfast burger, which was weird but decent, and my friend had the breakfast burrito which she seemed happyish with.
I had the turkey benny, which, on the plus side, used real turkey, not deli meat. But the English muffin it was on was either WOEFULLY undertoasted, or not toasted at all, so it was soggy, spongey, mealy and yucky. The hollandaise was okay, but on the runny side.
Those weird, bland potatoes are the most flavourless, blah excuses for "pan fries" I've ever experienced. Not a crispy bite in the starchy, entirely unseasoned bunch.
The waiter was nice, the decor was all right (though the bathroom needs help - dirty, run down, and the toilet desperately needs to be rescured to the wall; it rocks when you sit on it), and it's in a lovely part of town, but given the prices (and the brunch competition in Victoria), I wasn't impressed at all. -

Stopped by here on a whim with my family and was very pleasantly surprised. We had great service and a great meal. Had the halibut and chips and it was great. Wife had chicken strip sandwich and loved it. My son had French toast and he thought it was amazing. It is a small place trying to be a fifties diner and sort of makes it. You can order breakfast all day long and the rest of the day looks good too. We found this gem on our last day, sad to say. The waitress knew the lady next to us by name, so it seems to be a good local hangout. I don't think you will go wrong choosing this place.

We were visiting Craiggdorch Castle and had time to spare - Beacon Hill park was packed so we yelped and found this diner.....stopped by spur of the moment and it was delicious! Very good food and prices too!

Another great breakfast in Victoria. I do love a perfectly poached egg and Rosie's Eggs Florentine had it. My friends omelet was ginormous and apparently delicious. Rosie's is in the heart of Cook St. Village and has the feel of a real old school diner. The bright red walls and fifties icons memorabilia may have had something to do with it. It was a perfect way to start our Sunday.

Located in Cook Street Village, Rosie's is my new favorite place to grab a burger. I went for the first time the other night and left very pleased. I had a hamburger and my other half had fish and chips with onion rings. The burger was bigger than I needed, the patty was juicy and the ingredients tasted fresh. I had a couple onion rings and they were very good as well. Our waiter was excellent, very friendly and chatty. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be having a good time, taking refuge from the blizzard outside. With the allure of all day breakfast and good prices, I'll be going back to Rosie's very soon!
