Review from Mrs. K.
This restaurant is a must if you are anywhere NEAR Victoria ... matter of fact, this restaurant can be a destination in and of itself!
Rosemeade is inside the English Inn and Gardens. We stayed at the inn which is modeled after a Shakespearean village. Quaint but rustic. The restaurant, however, is anything but rustic. It's design is very sophisticated, contemporary but tastefully integrated to the overall design of the grounds, cozy, inviting, yet extremely chic.
Service was superb, efficient and attentive, very friendly and down to earth.
Now for the best part ... the food. Mr. K and I have been to many notable restaurants in US, Canada and Europe but with each course, we agreed that the experience was a notch above all the rest. In particular, their preparation of the pan seared sablefish in a light soy broth with julienned vegetables (carrots, sweet peas, zucchini) was perfection on a plate. The fish was seared perfectly, crispy yet moist & flaky. Each mouthful was a textural and taste delight. The sauces on every course was masterfully seasoned, rich with flavor but simple and never overwhelming the main ingredients. The sauteed mushroom appetizer was also fantastic and again a perfect mix of texture and taste. We finished every course and wished for more, even their amuse-bouche.
