A few years ago I was down in Seattle at the Abercombie and Fitch downtown. It gets cool in Seattle and I was wearing a Roots sweater. One of the clerks at A&F, comes up to me and says, "Roots! Where'd you get that?'. I explained that I'm Canadian and she gushes, "Roots! I wish we had that here. It's way better than this sketchy stuff." waving her hand at the shelves in A&F.
That pretty much says it all: Canadian owned, Canadian designed, Canadian made, and way better than that sketchy stuff. Seriously, it's well made, durable and comfortable leisure and lounge wear. -

I love Roots, but not this store. For me the best thing that Roots does is its leather goods and I am always disappointed by the selection here.
It is worth stopping in if you have kids, as they often have good sales of kids clothes. But I have stopped buying their kids sweats because they have an odd polyester content that never seems to come clean without multiple washings. -

When it comes to outerwear, Roots is one of the first places I consider. I like the subtle style and use of the Beaver to mark them as a Canadian brand. Some of their normal merchandise can be pricey, but people are willing to pay that price to represent their country. Also consider that this is the outlet store, and as far as Roots go, this is the cheapest you'll even find their clothing.
One of my favorite items are their sweats. They are really comfy and after a day of downhill skiing, these are gentle on your legs. Their shirts and polos are nice too, and I have no trouble finding my size at this location. I have had better luck finding winter wear here than summer wear- none of their summer items appeal to me. Also, I am a fan of Roots socks. Their tough, durable, and are my preferred winter wear socks. -

I like the style, design, and quality of Roots clothing and accessories. Their founders have done an excellent job branding the Canadian Beaver and the Roots name globally. My only issue is that Roots merchandise can be pricey.
But at this Roots South Park Outlet Store, you can get some incredible deals. When in town, I always stop and usually come out with various clothing for my son and sometimes me. The staff here are friendly and helpful. -

Roots is great for outerwear but it is especially good for what I call laid back clothing.
I have looked everywhere for closed leg sweats. I know many people aren't fans of them but I think they are really comfy. Anyways, I could not find them anywhere and I looked for a long time. Roots was the only place that had them. They also had them in different styles. Other than having things I couldn't find elsewhere, Roots clothing is really comfortable. It's great quality and really warm. Great for Canadian winters.
Definitely give it a look for your winters. -

I love Roots clothing especially their hoodies and sweaters. They don't have a Roots chain in the SF Bay Area so I made sure when I visited Canada, I would come back with a mess of Roots gear to rock during our cold months. It helps and they're so warm!

I am not one for buying into brand name hoopla, but Roots makes me challenge that attitude. I've wanted a Roots beret for a while, but the price has put me off. Just because the clothing here is Canadian made doesn't mean it isn't pricey! However, the clothing is of superb quality - the sweaters and shirts are very substantial and look like they would hold up and last a long time. Plus, everything looks really cool. If I decide to treat myself, I may just buy that beret after all.

Roots carries great selection of outerwear and hoodies. Over the years I have purchased quite a few items, and I am really impressed with their quality. The materials feel really "dense" yet soft, and wear beautifully. The selection of clothing is more than ample. Ts and tank top are really soft and durable, however if you are not a fan of logos displayed right across the chest area, Roots selection may disappoint you. The company proudly displays its name on almost all the products. They want us to wear their clothes proudly. So be it a hoodies or a backpack, expect to see large "Roots" or "Canada" logo. Other than that, Roots designs are nice and minimalistic, and should be checked out by those who are looking to buy reasonably priced athletic wear.

They don't have the Roots brand in the Bay Area so everytime I make a trip to Canada, I stock up sweaters and shirts. Sounds pretty dorkish, but it's cool when you're wearing a Roots shirt down here and someone recognizes the brand. Haha
