Holy hell almighty. You want to know what $16.34 gets you?
It gets you a big fat polish sausage. About 20 potato and cheese pierogies, a mini tub of potato salad, 2 drinks and a chicken schnitzel sandwich.
Best $16.34 I've ever spent in MY LIFE. The employees that worked there were so incredibly sweet to us clueless tourists. They were so incredibly patient with us.
I can't even describe to you how delicious everything really was. My sandwich was so good; the pierogies were some of the best I've had in my life. There are no words really. If you are in Toronto, you NEED to go to Little Poland, you NEED to go to Roncesvalles Bakery. You will eat eat and eat and pay literally PENNIES for it. I want to go back to Toronto right now just thinking about it. -

Don't know how to top Amanda H.'s effusive review of Roncesvalles Bakery. So I'll mention something else they're famous for, their ponchki, which are essentially eastern European jelly doughnuts--only the quality is much better than the usual doughnut shop crap, so the comparison isn't entirely fair.
The dough is a little thicker, and the filling is more substantial too, being made with real fruit instead of pure sugary slime. Plum and cherry fillings are common. A friend of mine once got scoffed at at Roncesvalles Bakery when he confused the two, so their patience may not be absolute here (but where else is it, anyway?).
