I have tried different chocolates over the years, but I truly find Rogers to be the very best. There is a reason they have thrived for over a century.
The only downside is the tiny cramped space and the lack of parking near their downtown location. It is often easier to buy their products from the factory in Saanich, or from a re-seller in one of the malls.
BTW, I have seen and heard many reviews that are actually for the Roger's soda shoppe which is about a block away. They are different stores.

Rogers Chocolate SHOULD be good, given the price, the tourist demographic, the PRICE, blah blah blah, but truly, it's akin to Purdy's. Which means, okay, for a mall-standard shop, but certainly nothing special. I'm actually embarrassed by Rogers and their attempt to convince tourists that they're about to experience the best chocolate ever. It's just not true! The chocolate is stale and cheap tasting, and the products are as boring as can be. Like Victoria itself, they haven't changed for years.
GO to Chocolat on Fort and Douglas! Please! Now THAT is fresh and inventive chocolate alchemy!

Awwww man! I should have read these reviews before I went! I wasn't in the mood for buying chocolate (a once in a lifetime occurrence for me). Hubby and I got ice cream cones.
This place was packed and there were only two girls working the ice cream counter, but we had our cones in hand and were at the cash register in under five minutes! The ice cream was delicious and the ambiance feels like you are on a date in the 50s! I had London Fog and Chocolate Hazelnut, Hubby had Gingersnap.
I will definitely come back here every time I head to Victoria! :)

The experience in the Soda fountain was not very good. The people making our order of a Milk Shake and Coke Float, couldn't get both items out at the same time, and even though they took our name for the order they continued to call out that they had a Coke Float ready or A Milk Shake, which caused us to almost steal somone else's. Why take our name if you aren't going to call it. Even though they only had 1 person taking orders and 5 people making orders they didn't seem to keep up well.
The taste was O.K. but nothing special, not really worth the visit. But since location is everything they will probably get traffic.

Seriously yelpers, I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed their coffee. It doesn't taste burnt, or bitter. It tasted like heaven just exploded in my mouth, and did a cartwheel with spirit fingers.. it was that good... so good I came back three times for their coffee before I had to get back on our cruise ship. It was delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need rogers now!!!!!!!! stat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's only the coffee, their speciality chocolates, and goodies were pricey but fun to buy for gifts(tourist trap).... Their coffee shop is more like a soda shop... like real soda water with syrup. For example this little 8 year old girl ordered a peach fizz; it consist of peach syrup with cherry syrup plus soda water and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. If that doesn't sound like a little girls perfect beverage, I don't' know what does. Dish delish. :)
Anyways, I love and hate rogers chocolates ltd. in so many ways - I love that it tasted like heaven, but hate that is not on every corner like my friend Mr. Starbucks

Everyone has their own vices... Mine happens to be chocolate. But not just any chocolate my friend, it's Rogers' Chocolate.
I only get up to BC every couple of years, and every trip for as long as I can remember has included pouring over the cases of individually wrapped Victoria Creams, deciding what I was craving at the moment and what I would take home to family (who had likely already given me an order to fulfill).
If I close my eyes I can picture the mahogany shop, dimly lit and expelling a rich chocolatey aroma from the moment you open the front door. The chocolates are wrapped in pink checkered paper, closed with a matching sticker and come in 21 flavors to choose from. A pound (or 10 creams) sells for about $20.00 Canadian. They're so rich and filling it's easy to cut one in half for a little treat now and another later. Of course enjoying the entire thing is also an option (and one I wholeheartedly recommend).
Rodgers' also carries a variety of fruits and nuts, candy bars, wedding favours, mints and baking confections. There's even a Chocolate of the Month Club for diehard chocoholics.
But how to survive between those spaced trips to our neighbor to the north has required some planning... Thankfully there are 2 options: buying in bulk for freezer storage and 24/7 online ordering. They ship globally, so those tasty treats are at worst only a click away....
But I'd much rather press my nose to the display case.

This is the best chocolate I have ever had. I wait like a kid at Christmas for my Easter package every year because it's filled with Rogers Victoria creams. My parents really must love me.
This is another great Victoria export I think makes a great gift.

Whenever I visit Victoria, I always bring home two local delicacies: Empress Blend Tea & ROGERS VICTORIA CREAMS! They are insanely rich - - ultra dark chocolate blended with buttery sweet vanilla fondant. They are world-famous, and a visit to Rogers' jewel-box store on Government is an experience in itself--stepping back in time.
Forget about counting those calories---you'll just burn them off hiking through the quaint streets of downtown!

Definitely worth a stop. They have tasty truffles for just a buck. Some of the bigger ones are more expensive but they are all very good. I recommend the ones with walnuts or coconut. Enjoy :)

OMG.......yummy. Like super yummy! The toffee is to die for. I had a raspberry creme that was really good too. It's an old-fashion-y store with old-fashion-y candy. A must do when visiting British Columbia.

These things are CRAZY - the biggest creme filled chocolates you'll probably find anywhere. But you have to have one before you die (and by the size of these things, make sure not to have too many or...)
That said, I do prefer Purdy's.

I had Roger chocolate 10 years ago, but this time, it is different. After eating its chocolate, I start to feel itchy on my head. This symptom tells me that their is a flavoring enhancing agent in the food. It could be artificial flavors of some sort. The chocolate still taste good, but for the health. I would avoid it.
