I had to give this place three stars because it's in the heart of downtown and also INSANELY cheap.  You are really getting what you pay for though, so you've been warned.

The place seems a bit shady, and you are very likely to see your first meth head at the free breakfast in the morning.

If you're seeing a concert at the knitting factory and don't want to drive home, this place is a good bet.

Biggest piece of shit hotel I have seen in many years.  I have stayed in several hostels around the developing world and all of them beat out the Rodeway inn.

I came up to Spokane for an interview with Gonzaga and thought I would save some money on my accommodations.  Rodeway Inn was by far the cheapest of the area and for that I give it 2 stars instead of 1.  My room has stains in it, the toilet paper was half used (not folded in the friendly triangle that you see in most hotels) and the sink was clogged (the water I used to brush my teeth with was still there the next morning).

I understand that the staff knows that it is not the Devenport across the street but they can still be outwardly friendly, instead, I got the feeling as if I was renting a car.  When I told them about the sink being clogged she audibly added it to the list of issues around the hotel.

Here is my piece of advice to the Spokane traveler.  If you want to save money then you should come to the Rodeway Inn, but if you are looking for a decent value hotel, call another place.

Value, value, value. Don't remember the rate we got, but I remember it was better than the one Holly T. got, maybe $40 a night? For $40 a night I just don't give a fu... Seriously, I can't too worked up too much about the Wi-Fi not working that great. Many hotels that cost $150 a night don't have free internet. The Continental breakfast was more than adequate, with even a waffle maker at your disposal. The TV selection was great, I think they had HBO but maybe not.

The walls seemed to be thin, but that is what you are paying for. There was some big gay orgy going on at the club next door, so we did wake up to some dudes getting it on. But that's cool. The location is Ab-Fab, right in the heart of downtown. Well, maybe a few blocks out, so you are not near the train tracks. I'm planning on going here again next time we're in Spokane.

EDIT: Lowered down to 3 stars. Most recent visit, Internet was not working at all. The Front Desk didn't know anything, said we "might" be able to get Internet from surrounding hotels, but no such luck.

This motel was cheap as hell, and it was definitely in the 'you get what you pay for" category. The rooms were minuscule, not especially clean or comfortable, and amenities were almost non-existent. I got my laptop as close as possible to the window and could sometimes get a wifi signal and sometimes not. The area is right downtown, but in a somewhat unsavory area. As mentioned by Laina B, there is only a little bit of parking, and it doesn't seem that they enforce hotel guests only parking in the lot, so it seems like the spaces are taken up by freeloaders going to the local clubs rather than hotel guests. We paid for parking at a local lot the first night since the motel lot was full. The next night we got a space, but were trapped in by some big SUV that parked in a non-existent spot. We were really lucky to try and eke out. So overall the room and most of the experience was only 2-star worthy at best.

But I will give 3 stars, for 3 reasons: 1) very friendly service at the reception desk, 2) fresh waffles in the morning, and 3) overall value. Personally, I would not stay here again; I'd shell out the money to stay somewhere a leetle more comfortable. But it did beat out the Ramada Limited - don't ever stay on 1st Ave - at least on 3rd Ave the train doesn't keep you up all night. This really isn't too bad considering what you're paying.

We stayed here in June when we had a memorial service to attend. This place is definitely no frills. The lady who checked us in was very nice and knew the area well.  The price was right for what we got, which was really just a bed and a place to shower. The water flow in the shower was kinda crappy, but that's forgivable since we only paid about $45 or so a night. The room we were in was clean and I wasn't grossed out by anything that shouldn't be there. The walls are VERY thin. We were awakened on Sunday morning by the guys in the room next to ours going at it. They weren't even screaming, just some grunting and moaning. They actually sounded like they were in pain. This motel is centrally located in downtown Spokane (or at least the downtown part we were in). We easily walked to and from this motel from the Greyhound station upon our arrival and departure. Other pluses about this motel: they had free wi-fi, it was hit or miss though; free cable, also pretty hit or miss, but we weren't in town to watch HBO; free continental breakfast. I'm usually pretty skeptical of continental breakfasts, as I feel you usually get the shaft with some cheap cereal and a loaf of bread and butter to make toast. Big whoop. But the Rodeway Inn provided us with not only the run-of-the-mill cereal and bread, but also waffle batter to make waffles. Yummy. They also had a pretty typical assortment of fruit and juice. Oh, and the Rodeway Inn is part of Choice Hotels, a lodging partner of Alaska Airlines, so I earned 250 Alaska Airline mileage points. One downfall of this particular motel is the incredible lack of parking. They have a very limited amount of spaces, not even close to the maximum capacity the motel can hold. Thankfully, we didn't drive, but our relatives did and they ended up having to pay to park one night. That's kinda shitty. All in all though, when I return to Spokane I will be happy to stay at the Rodeway Inn.
