One of the hardest things for me when I moved to Halifax was finding fresh herbs all year round...make that fresh herbs of just about every variety (they even have more than one type of mint) that didn't cost a fortune and kept their flavor for more than two days.
If you want to impress everyone with your salads. This is definitely the place to find the freshest, tastiest baby greens and tender shoots. All you'll need is a drizzle of olive oil and some delicious sweet vinegar. I recommend Boates balsamic apple cider vinegar (You can usually find it at the Boates stand right next to it).
Now at least I can find them every Saturday all year long at the Halifax Farmers Market ...and one reason I like to get there early. I need my fresh basil, mint etc fix! And if waiting for Saturday is too hard, they also sell small plants for you to take home with you.
