What is it about London and mediocre breakfast joints? Even when I lived in the city for years, there really was never a place that I thought "I can't wait to go there for breakfast". There were a few places that became our go-to spots because they were cheap. But never really because they were all that good.
Fast forward to this weekend when back in town visiting friends, we ended up here looking for some quick and greasy breakfast to help cure the hangover from a good night out on the town. One pleasant surprise was upon entering, they were able to accommodate a group of 6 of us without waiting. The restaurant wasn't very busy so service was pretty good. Coffees and waters were brought out in decent speed as we perused the menus. Nothing really stood out so I went with the "Hungryman Breakfast", composed of 3 eggs, 3 piece of bacon, 3 pieces of sausage, toast, and home fries. It was sustenance. None of the items actually were that good and the home fries were especially bad since they seemed overcooked, or perhaps cooked and then flash fried for reheating. Breakfast for 2 came to just under $20 after tax before tip.
So in the end, I'd recommend this place if you're looking to seat a big group, only because the place isn't actually good enough to get a lot of business so you'll have the pick of the litter in regards to seating. Or perhaps if you live within walking distance this place would also seem justifiable. Other than that, just another dime a dozen "family restaurant", and I'd continue the search to find a proper breakfast spot in London. -

I've eaten there a lot as it's close and I'm on my own but each time I noticed a really harassed air amongst the staff. Today I found the owner to be abusive even to the point of misogynistic of his female staff. Food fair and service varies wildly. Can't in good conscience go back.
