My husband finally passed his CCIE exam so we needed to celebrate big time. So I decided to do a little staycation here. And yeah, you def. pay for what you get.
Nice interior especially with the flowers in the middle, the room was gorgeous with amazing pillows and blankets. The bathroom was gorgeous as well, spacious and luxurious.
Their room service food was great and so was service in general.
Definitely will be back if he gets a promotion! lol. -

Had the opportunity to take a little Stay-cation with my wife, and we decided to book a room for the night at the Ritz-Carlton.
Overall impression is that you get what you pay for, but not in every aspect. The room was very nice, with lush materials and appointments. The only miss on the whole thing was, and don't laugh, the toilet paper. Sadly, it is that 1/2-ply, see through, who-in-the-world-thought-this-was-a-good-idea toilet paper. Kind of like putting vinyl seats in a Caddy. Leaves you thinking "What the?"
Other than that, it is as upscale as you might expect, with a hotel employee there to provide your every need.
One slightly annoying thing is that a significant portion of the clientele seems to be unduly interested in who is noticing that they are in the Ritz-Carlton. In other words, a lot of "look at me, look at me" going on. Not a big deal, but if pretension is something you really don't like, then maybe you might consider The Joule. -

I just returned from a fun New Years Eve in Dallas where we stayed at the Ritz Carlton. I have stayed in many Ritz's on the club level, as well as other chains club levels, and always find them to be various levels of lovely. This Ritz was no different.
Lovely lobby with the prerequisite multilevel floral arrangement the Ritz is known for, especially blinged up for the evening. The nice, albeit small, bar sitting area awaited the balloon drop from above. Free guacamole and margaritas shots in the evening were nice, but not great.
We checked in quickly, the staff very welcoming, but noted our bags left unattended in the entry. We waited a few minutes before deciding just to take the cart upstairs ourself. The club level king suite was about 800 square feet, and was very nice, but rather plain in comparison to other Ritz's. The view from room 730 of the Crescent hotel across was OK, but partially obstructed. The living areas were clean. The sleeper sofa mattress was awful. I felt sorry for my son. The king bed in the separate bedroom was also not as comfortable as I'd come to expect from other Ritz properties, with a decided dip on the side closest to the bathroom. The linens were nice and soft as were the pillows.
The room had a couple of free water bottles which was nice, however, keep in mind it is club level and all the beverages in the club area are free. (not including the mini bar) Not sure regular rooms have free water. The guest bath only had a toilet and sink, but should have had a shower as well based on other places we've stayed in similar set ups.
The main bathroom was large with lovely marble, a double sink, and the TV in the mirror was a nice touch. So too was the mirror in the shower. (photo) However, that is where it stopped being so nice. After fun evening ringing in the New Year, I stood in the shower about 2 am and realized there was moldy grout in several places on the ground. YUCK. (photos). For $670. per night, this is unacceptable. I've never even seen this in a La Quinta! Made we wonder what other germs were underfoot, so to speak. Also, while the Bulgari toiletries were nice, there was no body wash, only bar soap. A real miss for this level of stay. The towels and robes were soft and top notch.
The in-room safe is a concern as it is in a drawer of the dresser. I think this would be easy to just take the entire thing since it was too small, and wasn't in the wall, but I did like the interior plugs for electronic devices. Very cool idea.
The club level itself was well done as expected. The service was cordial and efficient. The food was okay, not great. The turkey sandwich was very good, but no mayo or mustard was around so I used the Caesar dressing from the salad. I could have asked someone I'm sure, but no one was around. The berries in the morning were ripe and juicy but no whipped cream or other topping like at other club levels? The breakfast pastries were grocery store quality and dry.
Some of the deserts like the bread pudding were very dry, but others were quite good. The lunch sliced fillet was very good, cooked a nice medium rare. When in between services, there is NO food at all, not even a cookie like many other club levels provide. There is however, some delicious chocolate covered nuts in several flavors and beer, wine, and champagne, juices, etc. Also, unlike other club levels, no one ever came to our table and asked if we needed another drink or anything else, though they occasionally did pick up dirty dishes. The view of downtown Dallas was partially obstructed which was ashame. Worst thing, however, is when a scruffy looking man blearily strolled around in a hotel robe and slippers and was not asked to leave. I guess there's no dress code? Hardly 'Ritzy'. I hoped he had something on under it.
My package included a $50. spa credit, but very misleading pricing. Firstly, the spa was visually okay, but hardly luxurious. I didn't have much time, so I opted for the mani-pedi. The menu makes it look as if this is a $50. to $65. treatment as it is listed together. Thank goodness the mani went quickly. I sat around 20 minutes when my manicurist left in a hurry, with no one to offer me a thing to drink or read the entire visit. Bored, I realized I was missing my club level dinner, so I asked when the pedi was going to happen. I was informed that the mani should have taken an hour, not 20 min, and the pedi guy was at dinner and would be back in a about 15 min. They did offer to call him back, but I opted out. That's when I found out the mani, (just cleaning, shaping, polish) was $65. plus auto tip, and the pedi would have been another $85! RIP OFF!! I ended up paying $25. above the credit, like back home. Another man in the club level had the same thing happen to his wife. She thought the price listed included both mani and pedi. Skip the spa.
The maid service was very quite in the morning which was much appreciated. -

This was a fun, upscale and my kind of place. Of course one of my favorite things to do is people watch, and this is the perfect place to sit back, kick up your shoes, enjoy some music, have a nice drink and clearly tell who is the $2,000 millionaire and who actually has money.
It's the Ritz - so I guess it's ment to be like that - but nonetheless it was high class. The women were surprisingly friendly, not stuck up, and not your typical yuppy uptown girls. I went here with a mixed group of friends, and everything was just perfect. The outside patio / bar let you enjoy the texas stars, and the drinks were fairly priced.
No complaints. -

Definitely a great hotel for the price! Because of my work i travel a lot and have pretty much been to all of the most popular hotels around the country but Ritz is always a treat. I enjoy being treated with such class and courtesy not to mention the price isn't all that bad compared to some of the top notch hotels out there. My first time in this particular one but I will be back in the near future to enjoy some more :)

We decided to take an in-town vacation and celebrated a special occasion at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. The service was impeccable. Every staff member greeted us and went out of their way to make our short stay special.
The spa was fantastic - even if you don't get a service, I highly recommend buying a day pass to use the whirlpool, steam room, pool, and sauna - don't forget the relaxation room!
The staff must have realized we were celebrating, because they sent up a special treat for us to enjoy during our stay - it was these small gestures that really showed the dedication that the hotel has to it's guests.
There is construction going on but we heard absolutely NO noise whatsoever. Our room was large and had a fabulous bathroom with a great amenity kit. We didn't want to leave!
The hotel is quite close to several wonderful restaurants and museums. We will be back soon! -

Nice hotel but very bad value. You would expect a memorable time, but it was very average for a lot of money.

Attended a wedding reception here as well as brunch the following morning. The wedding was flawless. The staff was perfect. They definitely helped to create ambiance with their perfectly timed service for each course and kept drinks coming to the table throughout the night. I never had to go to the bar for a drink....which may or may not have been a good thing. There was a lot of polite security to keep the bar crowd out of the reception. The brunch the following morning was nice with a waffle and omelet bar and the staff was equally as great.

Simply amazing...my wife and I spent the weekend there for our honeymoon, and besides being able to seriously tour our own city of Dallas, we were treated like royalty.
No complaints from us...the Ritz-Carlton is the definitive example of "you get what you pay for." :) -

This place is pretty sweet... but it's a Ritz, would you expect anything less!? I stayed here for a few nights on business and was thoroughly impressed with both the rooms and the staff. Not only was the room large, the bathroom was big as well, it even had a separate shower and bathtub. Not a detail was overlooked either, from the mirror in the shower, to tomorrow's weather forecast left on the nightstand to the complementary overnight shoe shine service... made me almost enjoy being on the road! The staff is great too, there was always someone around to help out with questions. Finally, I would be remiss not to mention the free Bentley car service (3 mile radius)... made me feel a bit pretentious at times, but it really was convenient.
Enjoy your stay! -

Fabulous hotel it's the ritz-Carlton. It definitely lived up to it's name. Everyone is friendly. It's also very fun to people watch there as well. The valet personnel are also wonderful and they love to talk to you which is great it's gives a good vibe from the moment you walk through the doors and see the gorgeous entrance with the orange orchids in these fantastic vases, it really does take your breath away. The rooms are spotless and clean which is always a plus. I will be back when I visit Dallas.

** Hotel review disclaimer: The Ritz is supposed to be a five-star hotel, so I'm judging it in that context. Yelp stars are not the same as "hotel" stars. **
The Dallas Ritz-Carlton is your standard offering from Ritz-Carlton. Pretty lobby, nice-sized and well-furnished rooms, good-sized and well-equipped fitness center. Service was attentive.
I enjoyed my stay at the RC Dallas very much. It was most everything I would expect from a Ritz. Couldn't give it a fifth Yelp star because there was nothing extraordinary about it. Still, I would stay there again, for sure. -

My favorite hotel in Dallas. We have stayed 8-9 nine times and the service has always been perfect. Great location and with Fearings restaurant in the hotel you can't go wrong. It makes traveling easy. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz in Dallas and the service was impeccable from my first step into the atrium. The staff was attentive and ready to help you with anything you could possibly need.
The hotel gym was also spacious with a full selection of workout equipment and had yoga classes in the morning. All of the treadmills and ellipticals had a bottle of water on the machine and a fresh clean towel ready for your use!
People have raged about the rattlesnake bar, but the outdoor bar reminded me of Miami pool bars, especially with the arrangements and ample seating for all.
Needless to say, I look forward to staying at the Ritz in Dallas again. -

Hotel itself---wonderful! Service was superb, decor beautiful, breakfast was good!
I did go to the lobby/bar on Saturday evening and it was PACKED. No place to sit, but lots of people to watch. Took a little while to make the drink, but it was crowded so I won't complain. Nice patio -

Not a big yelp-review-er person, but after our stay at the Ritz I have to....
I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
1. I was setting up my girlfriend for a suprise engagement proposal at the Ritz. I contacted the front desk and one of the Guest Relations Cooridnators (Cole) a week or so in advance. Everyone was so excited for me and suggested some great ideas. It made a potentially stressful process....unstressful.
2. Everyone at the hotel was professional, courteous, friendly, etc. I travel a lot for work and you will get a friendly front desk from time to time, but looking back....everyone went out of their way to make this stay memorable for us.
3. The rooms are great. If you can get out and enjoy the hotel: gym, spa, pool, restaurants, bars, lobby, local shopping, etc.
4. I will definitely be back. If you are reading about hotels in Dallas....I suggest you consider this one if you are doing something special and want to make it memorable.
Thanks so much Ritz (and Cole)!

You expect quality service from a Ritz Carlton. All of my expectations were met and exceeded at this hotel. From the moment you pull up, you're greeted by a genuine and friendly staff. The lobby is simple yet sophisticated and a had a beautiful orchid flower display in the center of the room.
The room we reserved was unavailable at the time of check in so we got upgraded to a suite. SWEET!
I am sure I am not alone when I say that sleep at a hotel is usually not as good as in your own bed. Not the case here. The beds and linens are beyond comfortable and soft. The walk in closet had robes and plenty of extra blankets and pillows.
The gym is clean and each treadmill has its own bottle of water and towel waiting for your use. There is a room for classes, but they charge $15 a class. The treadmills overlook the pool and there was no one using the gym when I went in.
The room service food is room service food. You know what you're getting. We did the order and placed it on the door knob the night before. The order was on time and the server was attentive and kind.
The only bad part about the hotel is that you need a room key to access the elevator. Usually I wouldn't mind this level of security, but our family reunion had people on a variety of floors. You aren't even able to access other floors without a key.
Top quality. -

I agree with a previous poster-it's nice, but it -should- be nice.. You're paying $$$$ for it to be nice. It isn't extraordinary, though. The hotel was nice-nicely appointed room that is a pretty good size. My room had a sofa bed right across from the regular bed. The lobby itself was nice, with good sitting areas to relax if you wanted to stay downstairs. There is a shop there for your convenience.
The service was extremely good. Everyone was attentive and quick. Never told no about something. I did send something to get dry cleaned, and they had it back fast-too fast. It had stains on it that it did not previously have, maybe from the dry cleaning solution. I pointed it out to them (it was $18 to get a silk skirt dry cleaned in a quick service) and they took it back and within an hour it was back to me, this time good as new.
I only had two minor complaints. The first was that I was there for work, and there was a large group of us. Even though they expected us, they almost didn't seem prepared to handle us. They scrambled a little bit to hold people's luggage because some of us were early and our rooms were not ready. It caused a bit of a backup with checking in, and even after the room was ready, my key didn't work several times. I had to call them on three separate occasions to help me.
The second minor complaint is that the pool is really small. It's really pretty at night, lights up and has a view, but it reminds me of the pool at the Westin in Las Vegas. You would think for the weather in the summer, they'd invest a little more space to the pool size. -

Just got back from four nights at the Dallas Ritz. We had a corner junior suite on the club floor. I highly recommend staying on the club floor. The spacious, yet cozy, club room never had more than 10 people when I was there. The club room has four "presentations" a day--a fancy word for serving food four times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert). But what delicious food it is! Champagne, wine and a vast array of after-dinner drinks as well. And did I mention it's included with the price of the room?
I took advantage of the large, well equipped gym, the beautiful rooftop pool and the spa.
The service, as always, was impeccable and warm.

Known for it's outstanding service and luxury accommodations, my expectations were extremely high, but I was slightly disappointed with a few critical elements. Now in all fairness, the staff was extremely pleasant, the room was good sized and nicely appointed, and the fresh flower centerpiece in the main lobby was a dramatic work of art that changed daily. I also loved the little touches like water bottles and towels by the front door with a note welcoming back early-morning joggers.
My biggest beef was with the in-room wi-fi service. First off, they charged for it. That practice of nickel and diming guests for normal business services is annoying, but it's even more so when your only options are hourly, daily, or weekly. I couldn't pay once for my entire stay, but instead had to re-sign-up every 24 hours. Then the connection wasn't even that strong. It took several minutes for me to download a simple 3.3 MB PowerPoint, and Skyping with my family kept freezing up.
Then the first morning I laid down on the floor to do a few push-ups and glanced under the TV cabinet to see a thick layer of dust. Yuck! That caused me to check under the end-tables and few tough-to-reach corners only to discover a similar coating of filth.
The last little markdown was the view out my particular window. It was of the giant mechanical structure. See the picture I attached, along with the picture of the dust covering (and one of the floral arrangement).
For the price, I expected more. The next time this conference is held in this location, I'll probably shop around a little more and be willing to walk a few blocks in order to attend the workshops. -

SUNDAY BRUNCH delicious! Yum!
I had dinner here (while staying here) and it was good. But the Sunday brunch was really something to stand up and discuss. The all you can eat pancakes are divine (that gooseberry jam!) and the dr. pepper short ribs sound kind of kookie... they are absolute HEAVEN.
the bloody mary is great (I could do without the addition of the tortilla chip strips, but ok). Also, the wine selection at the bar here is pretty decent. I am not a huge Merlot lover, but it was good. I also think the prices are really fai for a fancy hotel. -

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Dallas for 5 nights, and it fit all of my expectations. The hotel was VERY clean, the service was EXCEPTIONAL and the food was delicious.
Fearings (the restaurant located in the lobby) was fantastic, and it was also located near other restaurants/shopping.
The spa was very peaceful, and the excersice room was a perfect size. Again the service went above and beyond when interacting with you.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Dallas area. -

Fantastic, excellent staff, attitude, service, not stuffy like in the old days! We were celebrating our 15th anniversary and ran into a couple celebrating their 50th on the elevator! So inspiring that people choose The Ritz for very special stays and celebrations. The room was comfortable, the bed too, the food great, the coffee, everything--no complaints. The only tiny thing I would change are the toiletries/shampoos/conditioners, etc... I got a rash from using theirs, they smell heavenly but you can smell the chemicals. I wish they would use eco-friendly, paraben and sulfate free products, I mean, at this level, I know their clientele is educated enough to be aware of this and I'm surprised they do not have healthier options. However, I won't downgrade to a 4 star, I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Ritz!

My first time to stay at the Ritz was Nov '08 It was my 1st year anniversary with the boyfriend. Mentioning this got us a complimentary bottle of bubbly! We had a couples massage and I fell in love with the spa. You have access to a hot tub, steam and dry saunas and an awesome relaxation room. I highly recommend checking it out.

Even though I live in Dallas, I stayed here as a girls' night out with a friend and it was AMAZING!! We were guest "guacamologists" in the Lobby on Friday evening, got impeccable valet service, and had great drinks for happy hour. The hotel even upgraded us to club level, which meant free breakfast and lunch in the Club Lounge -- amazing selection!! The rooftop pool is beautiful. I didn't want to go back to my house, waaaahhhhh!

It does not matter what city you are in..The RITZ-CARLTON is HANDS DOWN the best Hotel. The suite was beautiful but more important was the service! They remember your name and what you like the MINUTE you walk in the lobby! The outside bar had such a great crowd and honestly everyone treated us like rock stars:) What I love about the Ritz is it is so classy and elegant. They even remembered I did not like dark chocolate so every night the turn down service would place TWO milk chocolates on my pillow:) If you are in Dallas then go! It is near everything!

The Ritz is most certainly a wonderful exception! The staff are incredibly friendly and professional. The valet parking is complimentary, as is the champagne (which, unlike most complimentary champagne, is actually delicious). The facilities are clean and well-stocked. The steam room is at a perfect temperature. Towels and robes are plush and seemingly new.

In general, the hotel was very nice but it did not live up to be a five-star hotel which I would expect from a Ritz-Carlton. One night my bed was not turned down. The next night when I went to my room at 5:30 pm to watch the news, my room was not cleaned. That night the bed was turned down but I suspect that was done when the room was cleaned. I was working at a conference. We had to go out to Starbucks in the mornings because the coffee was not good. At first, I though it was lower quality coffee brewed too strong, so I added hot water. But the water was not hot. The company putting on the conference was from Great Britain. Many of the British participants complained about the hot water and they asked the staff to address it many times. It was never at a satisfactory temperature to brew a good cup of tea. A British person appreciates a good cup of tea. Maybe the Dallas property needs to take some lessons from the Laguna, Marina del Rey, or Naples properties where I have had "high tea" and found it very enjoyable.
Hopefully, you can see that the Dallas property does not live up to the Ritz-Carlton five-star status.
