I am a frequent customer of this spa. At least once a month I visit Erin for a Shellac mani - she is AWESOME!
The salon/spa is usually very busy and is perhaps not the most relaxing place, but there is great people watching and the staff are very friendly and the manis/pedis are great. -

Gord and I got pedicures this afternoon so our feet will look great in Bermuda. The place we usually go to closed last month so we went to Ritual Spa (King W/Niagara).
It was bustling there with people getting pedicures, manicures, haircuts and waxings. It's really white and I didn't find it overly cozy.
My feet are now nice and soft. My toes are Opi's Meep Meep Meep. They look great!
The woman who did my toes was fairly quiet but answered questions when I asked.
The woman who did Gord's toes was more chatty. She had a bandage covering the entire tip of her nose. She said she had been bitten by a pit bull on Christmas Eve and required many stitches. -

I have been to Ritual for emergency waxing - e.g. my regular threaders/waxers are too far or unavailable or I am going away and need some salon care pronto!
PROs:
Seems easy to get appointments
A quick in-out experience
Some people seemed pleasant - exceptionally one waxer in particular - can't remember her name (for her she gets 4 stars)
I hear the Shellac is great
It's busy - so assume there are a lot of regulars that come for regular appts
Cons:
It's a lot going on in that small space
It's not relaxing (think of one of those quicky nail salons that's more high end)
It's not super cheap - but not super expensive as some downtown places try to scam (I think eyebrow waxing is $15).
You can't do tip on debit - so I felt bad that I didn't have enough for a tip (why not have this feature???? - horrible for the employees)
It's kind of dirty in the waxing rooms (the actual table bed is dirty and then they put clean paper on it - kind of grossed me out).
I think they double-dip the wax (don't use a new stick every time they dip)
I feel I should use this place more - but it's never been a wow experience....it's ok and convenient if I need it. -

Came here for an eyebrow waxing - one of the few places I can trust, and has decent pricing $15.
I love their online booking system - where I didn't have to feel uncomfy asking for an appointment when everyone can hear me at work. The next day, they called to confirm my appointment.
I was running late and they were really nice about being flexible about time.
I had Irena (and this was the same lady I went to and LOVE her pedicures). She works hard and has been in the business for a while, knows all the tips and tricks. Efficient and painless.
Ritual used to have another location next door, which they have closed, and now in this new expanded hair salon/mani/pedi/body location.
The decor is sleek and trendy, but sometimes all the white makes it feel sterile and not cozy.
I was sad that they only take cash tips and I was unable to tip her.

I went to this spa during the holidays- the service was.. Mediocre. If you're looking for a relaxing, pampering experience-this is not the place for you.
It's more of an in and out kinda place- I got a manicure done with Shellac which was gorgeous and the manicurist was lovely. However, there was an altercation between a client and one of the other Manicurists. The tanning beds were packed, the place was full of people.. it was a very cramped, almost stressful scene.
I will def go back- but only for manicures. -

I went to Ritual for Shellac Manicure. Shellac is everything you ever dreamed of. I waited two weeks before reviewing and my nails still have a mirror finish and no sign of chip. And they're bright red! That's awesome!
The girl who did my shellac was super, knew everything about it, scored a perfect 10 and I was really impressed how fast the manicure dries under UV - a minute later, she gives you a bright finish rubbing your nails with a TOWEL. Like that.
I was so impressed with the amazing I had with Irina, I decided to have a default pedicure - no shellac. It was so disappointing! No spa chairs, no exfoliation, no nothing. And SO EXPENSIVE for a simple pedicure!
Veredict: go to Ritual for Shellac - totally worth the 35 moneys, but avoid the pedi. There are way better pedis out there.Listed in: The Beauty and The Beast

I went here for a Shellac manicure before going on vacation for 2 weeks. I had my apprehensions at 1st about how it would be after a week or so as my nails grow fast, but I gave it a go and I'm really happy I did.
We sat down, the girl(forgot her name but she was incredibly sweet and interesting to talk to) helped me pick out a few colour layering options as there are limited number of colours available from CND, but you can make some new ones by mixing it up. I ended up going for a colour called "Romantique" a sheerish very light pink.
The cuticle work was the best I have EVER received! They look good even 3-4 weeks after i got this mani and took my polish off. It did take a long time to get the nails done even though the drying process is 2 minutes flat because the esthetician was meticulous!
The polish stayed on without chipping at all for the whole time till i took it off. you could see a pretty visible gap by 10 days however.
$35 for the application, $10 for removal - totally worth it for a event/vacation when you don't want to bother with chipped nailpolish. -

I have all of my manicures, pedicures and waxes done here. I spent years going to a bunch of different places around the city, but no other place measures up in terms of quality, service and price.
Ritual by far gives the best pedicures I've ever had. The manicures and brazilians are pretty much the best I've had too.
You can definitely find cheaper services in Toronto, but not by that much and you will comprise quality and hygiene. -

Ritual really deserves a write-up on it's hair services:
So I came here for a colour touchup and cut. I'm a natural dark ash brown who likes her blonde to be platinum.
Rose (who was recommended by a friend) did my color and was meticulous about it. She did a fantastic job, the toner was a grey/ash that I'd never had before and I love the way it looks. Also, she REALLY made me feel like my input was being heard.
Laura did my cut and as the days go by, I'm loving it more and more. I sort of let her do her thing, just specifying the type of cut and the shape I wanted it. It's very funky, but what I love most is that it falls in the shape i wanted.
Modern decor, with comfortable chairs (so appreciated during long color application/wait time), limited magazine selection (not appreciated during long application/wait time) and free cappucinos.
Allover, I'm so pleased with my hair experience at ritual. $80 for my col and $70 for my cut is a little more than I'd like to spend, but so worth it to really get what I want. -

I have been going to Ritual for Brazilians for about a year now. I've seen Irina and Heather. Irina is very fast, maybe a little too fast. Heather is great. She is so friendly and makes you feel at ease. She makes an uncomfortable situation very pleasant. I look forward to seeing her when I go there.
I have been noticing though that the rooms they use for waxing treatments aren't the cleanest. They put a clean paper sheet down on top of the table/bed, however the bed underneath is not so clean. Also I think that they are reusing the same wax over and over again. I will be going back there again and I will be making sure that new wax is being used on me. The waxing rooms need a good cleaning all over. -

ShhheLAC!
Blew my mind, it is the ultimate glam!
No chipping,no smudging no broken nails! As a hairstylist this is MIND BLOWING for me! I hate chipped nails, so tacky!I literally pain my nails every 2-3 days just to ensure that I always have that perfect mirror finish.
I couldn't believe that I could walk out of the nail salon, and not have to worry about my nails being ruined and looking unrully a few short days, maybe even hours later.
I have done plenty of cuts/ colors, and washes today and they still look just as gorgeous and glamorous as they did when I first got them done only a few days ago.
To know that i'll wake up for the next 3 weeks with insanely hot red nails that are still shiny is a dream come true. I think it would be for any girl!
I go for a mani/pedi every month, with polish changes in between... The $35 is SO worth it.
Get it done ladies, you will not be dissapointed! -

An okay place for a mani-pedi. I don't find the chairs very comfy and it is pricey considering some of the other places nearby. The last time I was there the mani polish came off (as in peeled right off) within an hour of the manicure. As soon as the polish dried it peeled off. Not great considering the price. The atmosphere is so-so too. The last time I was there a women waiting for service next to the nail bar spent 40 minutes talking loudly on her cell. I kept waiting for the staff to ask her to step outside with her call but no...we all got to hear about her upcoming vacation to cuba and her tanning plans. Not my favourite place but it gets points for being close by and for generally being able to squeeze in last minute appointments.

Such a cute spot for that quick tan, bang trim or manicure. Make sure you say hi to my girl Janai who's the receptionist there!
