Rising Star rocks... it's a cool little cafe for breakfast and lunch. The decor is your basic cafe with a few tables and pretty good art for sale on the walls. There are newspapers lying about and R&R on the radio the morning I was there.
One of the owners Candace is a granola making God! I have never, ever tasted granola that good. I'll tell you, I have had homemade granola before but it pales in comparison to Candace's. There must have been over a cup of golden brown deliciousness of oats, nuts, (pecans, walnuts, almonds) raisins, cranberries and other goodies piled on top of at least 2 cups of vanilla yogurt. I think it was $4 and let me tell you, I didn't eat again until dinner! It was so fuccin good I ate the whole thing along with a delicious cappucino. They also make their cinnamon rolls from scratch. I think their muffins as well. The husband and wife owners were so nice. The husband asked us where we were from, brought the food to our table and made pleasant small talk. When I raved about the granola, he told us that some day they hope to sell it in buckets! He said people come in and just want to buy the granola... that's how good it is. They must do a pretty good business because they have another cafe a couple of blocks away. I think I have their business card somewhere. I'll update later if I find it.
