Riefe's has been in existence since 1946, and I've never known it to be anywhere other than its current location. It was a part of my youth (from teenage years, onward) and many times I would take a date there, for their "curb" (drive-in) service.
I even had a cousin who worked there as a cook for a brief time, which is how I know that the food was (and is) terrific.
Riefe's is another Quad-Cities landmark that first opened as a drive-in restaurant in 1946 by Orville and Del Riefe (prounounced: REE fee). Like many other places, they are famous for their tenderloin and ice cream desserts. It has been remodeled and expanded a few times, and is now a sit-down family-style restaurant. In the lobby area, there are photographs of how the restaurant used to look, with walk-up windows and carhops.
It's hard to imagine it now, with each room seeming to represent a different decade in the restaurant's existence.
You'll like the food, of course, and more importantly, you'll like their reputation as one of the mainstay locations for good dining in the Quad Cities area. -

Love this place. It may not be the nicest place but the service is personable, the food is good, the pricers are great.

My wife and I tried this restaurant on her co-workers recommendation. The dining areas are separated into three areas and noise level was minimal. My wife had the Popcorn Shrimp which were the size of medium shrimp with hash browns with cheese. She did not love the flavor of the shrimp and they had not been deveined. They were however fried perfectly and she enjoyed the cocktail sauce. I ordered the Smoked Porkchop with Mashed Potatoes with gravy. The smoky ham flavor of the porkchop was delicious. I enjoyed it very much. The gravy was mild so it did not overpower the porkchop. They also served us a basket with a couple rolls and some pumpkin bread which we was moist and tasty. Overall we enjoyed the food and service and definitely will eat there again.

Great mid-western American food for the whole family. I highly recommended the pork chops. They are also a great option for catering weddings and large corporate events. Warning, this is an old fashioned cash only joint, so be ready with the dough. Over all this is some good eats. Give em a try today!

I and friends eat at Riefe's Restraurant every Tuesday night. We all enjoy the food we get from full course meals to sandwiches to ice-cream or just a cup of coffee. Food prices are very low with food quality very high. Patty is the greatest waitress every.

Not "cash only." They take plastic like everyone else. Never had a bad meal there, and if the person with the "greasy" catfish had only mentioned it to the server, they likely would have eaten free AND had a substitute item of choice from the menu. Breakfast breads and doughnuts (etc.) are extra yummy. Great biscuits and gravy - old- fashioned and thick and meaty. Really great sandwiches and very friendly and fast service. Great desserts. Genuinely nice place.

I can't say enough about old faithful, riefe's. My family and I either order takeout or dine in about 3 days per week. It's reasonable and the food is great. They even have a small vegetarian menu. When in doubt, try the grilled cheese on rye with tomato!

Don't order the catfish. Greasiest. Dripped on my new top. Must have drank a quarter cup while eating it.

Great family-owned restaurant! Riefe's has been a staple in Davenport for many years. I love their hearty breakfasts - they have similar entrees to IHOP or Village Inn, but usually cheaper and ALWAYS better tasting! Their french toast can't be beat!
