I was craving a steak on Easter Sunday and found Ric's Grill online. The reviews were promising so I checked it out. The location is pretty nice, lofted ceilings and decent furniture.

There were 2 other customers in the whole restaurant so I had my pick of tables. I chose the lounge so I could watch The Masters on their small tube TV's.

I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir that was from Burgundy France and the New York Striploin rare. It came with a side of seasonal vegetables and herb roasted potatoes that were both well seasoned and tasty. The first bite of my steak felt a little cool in the middle but every bite afterwards was warm and perfectly rare. The steak was 10 ounces so I wasn't able to finish it but I took it to go with some of the potatoes and the complimentary bread and it was a great lunch the next day.

Finally, the service was great. Maybe it was because I was Chris's only table but I would like to believe I would get that service everyday.

I would go back but only when I'm craving steak.

This place is A-OK. The food and drinks are definitely good, but I think it's overpriced. The decor and atmosphere is great and I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you've never been, but honestly there are a ton of restaurants with the same quality food for a lot cheaper.

My husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try since both Louisa's and Bacchus Cafe were closed.  I had eaten here a few years back but had a hair in my meal, which made it really hard to want to go back.

We ordered from the summer 3 course menu.  My husband had the soup of the day, a sirloin/shrimp entree, and brownie for dessert.  I had the spinach and beet salad, ribs, and brownie for dessert (they were out of the crepe of the day).

I found the spinach salad to have a strong mustard flavor and the beets weren't very flavorful.  My husband's soup was good.

The ribs just tasted like they had tomato sauce dumped on them.  And they were pretty fatty.  My husband seemed to enjoy the sirloin and kindly shared one of his shrimp skewers with me.

There was something really wrong with the brownie.  We think they forgot the butter, oil, or some other sort of binder in the mix.  My husband mentioned it to server who was very sweet and embarrassed who said, "Yes, someone else complained they were dry."

Other people might like the ribs, but I just prefer small, pork ribs with no fat.  Maybe just stay with the steak, which apparently this restaurant is known for...

I wanted to have lunch and since Ric's Grill is located at the one of the entrance points to the farmers' market, it was an obvious choice. The atmosphere is very classy and relaxed, and all of the servers seemed very friendly. The menu has a variety of burgers, steak/ribs, and salads. Prices are on the higher end, but also seem reasonable.

I had a vegetable burger, which at around $14 was on the lower end of the price scale. It was one of the most unique veggie burgers I have ever had, from the rice/bean/mushroom-based patty to the avocado slices on top. I decided to deviate from fries and opted for a side order of the spinach salad. Also unique, the delicate leaves were adorned with a poppyseed dressed and slices of almond, and also had beets in it. Delicious, and refreshing.

If I came here for a supper I would definitely try a steak or another meat dish. It appears that Ric's Grill has some original ideas.

We went for a pre-show dinner and the server was great at helping us ensure we were done in time to make it to the show. We were seated at a less than stellar table and asked if we could take a booth a little further from the kitchen and door, but were told they were all reserved. Maybe the reservations were no shows bit those tables didn't fill up in the hour and a half we we there. The table we were stuck with actually gave a good view of the jazz duo that set up shortly after we arrived so it was not the worst place to sit.

The food was OK, we shared the calamari appetizer and then the chicken curry.  The calamari was a bit overcooked and the breading was falling off not awful, but not great either. The curry was flavorful, but I prefer a lot more vegetables. The vino was very pleasant, we ordered more to enjoy with a Mediterranean dip as we were still nibbly and had time (because the first course came so quickly). The dip was rather small and came with pita triangles that were doughy and unimaginative (would have been better if seasoned and toasted). Not a cheap smallish dinner, but it was a pleasant way to spend the time before we went to the show.

Great food although the service was a tad slow. Worth the evening out though.
