I'm giving this steakhouse a 5 stars because their staff went far above and beyond the call of duty with our party.
My steak was very good, though slightly overcooked. The twice baked potato was good, though it could have used a bit more bacon. Overall, I would say that the food easily rates a 4 star review.
But the staff!
Somewhat unannounced we showed up with 15 loud mouthed political types who were in Kamloops for meeting. As more of us came straggling onto the patio, the staff realized that they had a largish party forming. The staff handled it amazingly. Our main waiter kept track of all of our orders, got our food out to us quickly, and made sure our drinks were always full.
I was amazed at how well they handled us, all with a smile on their faces and an air of making it seem easy. I was extremely impressed, because I know for a fact our group is hard to manage at the best of times! -

At first I was like daaayyymmmm, but then I went on in and the waitresses be like all hot and shit. So I ordered up a steak and it was all cooked perfect, I tasted it and was all like " Whaaaaaaat, for real?" Shit was extra good. Me and the homies will be back. Hopefully the waitress will let me holla this time, she was actin all snooty and shit. But that booty was bumpin, so I ain't mad.

Great place to go if you want to pamper yourself or impress someone on a first date. Food is fabulous. Dont go if you want to eat and run. Go there.....order some wine, an appy, your entree and then dessert. Spend all night and enjoy.

Pricey, maybe even more pricey than it looks given that it's in a Four Points, but I've yet to be disappointed by the food. They make a beef stroganoff as good as moms. I found the music to be mostly undesirable, and the atmosphere at the Ric's downtown is better.

The girl at the front may not know what she's doing, but the servers and the cooks do. If you want Alberta beef done right then this is the place. Enough steak to give you the meat sweats. Oh, and throw in a twice baked potato and you're good to go.

Having been in Ric's grill in 2009 and enjoying my visits, returning in 2010 was a real disappointment.
The escargots were swimming in fat and cheese and had not been cooked well. The steak was not cooked well, and wasn't the right steak and the lobster was chewy.
Given the prices you pay, it was very poor - and the server indicated that she'd been hearing a lot of bad feedback for quite some time.
Come on Ric's, pull your socks up and sort out your kitchen - I feel sorry for the regular supply of visitors to the Sheraton who will doubtless experience this when they visit Kamloops. -

This place was recommended to us as one of the best restaurants in Kamloops. We were not disappointed at all. Located inside the Four Points Sheraton, this might have been one of the best, most flavorful steaks I have ever had.
The service was attentive and kind. We started off with salads and soups --my companion had a house salad that was very crisp and full of veggies. I had the spicy tomato soup that so good that it almost didn't need the dash of pepper I put in. Very fresh and fitting for a summer vegetable/fruit.
My steak was not only delicious, but I also thought I had ordered a mere 10 oz sirloin, and that wasn't even the top of the line porterhouse or ribeye. It was a hunk! A generous slab, expertly cooked medium with a seasoned crust, it was tender to the fork, topped with crisp onion ring slivers. I think I had a twice baked potato that was also a perfect accompaniment.
My friend raved about her seafood pasta dish, although like mine, these were truly generous portions.
We will definitely go back to Ric's, if not just for the food and service, but the quaint and quiet atmosphere that made the whole experience all that more worthwhile. -

I can't believe there aren't any reviews of Ric's. It is attached to the Sheraton, but don't let that fool ya. I have been there three times over the past five or so years. Each time I declared my meal to be "the best steak ever." Canada, because of the quality of your beef, I forgive you for Nickelback.

One of the better restaurants in kamloops. It is on the pricey side for what you get, but hey, this isn't Vancouver. You take what you can get. Recommend the steak.
