I went to Pitbull&Flo Rida World Tour. The Ricoh Coliseum is easy to get on by TTC.
Food corner were Ok,Memorial gift shop was small space.
Inside was cold because of huge and still it was cold.

Wash room were keeping clean because I often saw cleaner women.
    Security guard staffs worked well.

I really had fun in the their World Tour.

My sister and I went to see Pitbull's world tour last Wednesday which also featured a few small artists and Flo Rida. So this review will be concert-based and not about hockey.

The staff at Ricoh work fast and directs everyone to the appropriate entrance and getting through security was fast and efficient. The venue is big enough but it's small compared to the ACC. There's nothing really to complain about besides that this venue is quite old and the washrooms aren't the greatest.

The sound system was good because my ears have been ringing ever since. The lighting and projector were clear and bright when the entertainers had their music videos playing on the screen. The seats are pretty good so everyone has a good view of the stage.

We never purchase any food at concert venues because everyone knows it's ridiculously overpriced.

It would obviously be much better if this concert was performed at the ACC but that won't happen since there were still many seats available on Wednesday.

We went to the Ricoh yesterday for a Marlies game (vs. the Erie Monsters) with some tickets Heather got comp'd due to work.  Factoring in the "free" thing, I'd go four stars... but let's be objective a bit and forget that we didn't have to pay our way.

As a sports venue, Ricoh is very good -- not really a bad seat in the house, and I'm honestly left wondering why anyone would pay the extra dollars to be rink-side when the better view is a little higher up.

As an "other" venue, however, I have my doubts.  As many have observed the sound quality isn't up to snuff.  The hockey announcer was clear enough, but other announcements and in-game fluff was fuzzy and, at times, difficult to make out.  I can't imagine watching a favourite band at the Ricoh if the sound quality is going to be worse than my own system at home!

Otherwise, it's well laid out, spacious, with comfortable seating and a good gradient so as to prevent obstructing views.

Food options are limited, with the ubiquitous pizza pizza and stadium hotdogs, cotton candy, etc.  Smoke's Poutinerie operated a little kiosk, though, which was a nice touch, and their prices weren't grossly inflated ($7 for a basic poutine, $8 or $9 for pulled pork, bacon, or both).  I had a big, gnarly gelatinous blob of "gravy" mixed in with mine, though, which was kinda gross.  The $9 Steamwhistle beer made me forget about it long enough to enjoy the rest.  $9 for a beer?  Ah well... it's a hockey game, I guess.

All-in-all, a fun experience.  Not one I'd necessarily pay for (I'm neither a Marlies nor a Leafs fan -- go Habs!) but I'm glad we got to go and I'm grateful for the generous complimentary tickets.

Marlies won 5-3 for what it's worth.  Arena was about half full, and I am pretty sure they piped in crowd cheering at times, but whatever -- we had a good time!

Toronto Marlies versus Hamilton Bulldogs @Ricoh Coliseum. Therefore this is based on the stadium being a Hockey game venue. I have been at this multi-venue stadium before while The Royal Agriculture Winter Fair had Horse Show was on but I didn't get entrance to it.

Overall I find much similarities to the ACC specifically to be the little Brother of. The Acoustic Speakers and Base were small in size barely noticeable compared to everything else hanging up in the rafters but for a Hockey game it was plenty enough to hear the Announcer clearly and FEEL it as well.

The Scoreboard and Panels are a bit downscaled here although it is somewhat expected. It is difficult for people in attendance to understand and keep track of Who, When, What. On the other hand, I do find the seats designed at a comfortable height and comfort level.

Ricoh is made for smaller scale venues so there was no Level 500(Rogers Centre) or Level 300(ACC) meaning that everybody at this 50%(4,000) capacity game had good close up vision of the action.

I'm rating it as a concert and performance venue as I've seen shows and concerts here, not hockey games.

I don't know what's with the complaining of it as a concert venue. It does it's job. Sound is very good, seats are great (everyone has a good view), screen is great, food and drinks (though only stupid beer, no other selection).

It's smaller than other concert venues like say, the ACC and so the stage for concerts can only be set up one way.

But, like I said it does the job. It's a good place. It doesn't get 4 or 5 because I can't see any concert venues being unique enough to get 4 or 5 stars.

First, let me just say that I've never been to a hockey game in my life, so I can't evaluate it as a sporting arena (it does seem like it would be a decent place to catch a game, no bad seats or anything ... and if it's as cheap as everyone says, all the better). However, as a concert venue it is simply atrocious.

The sound. Oh my word, the sound. I can't even explain how bad the sound quality at this place was, but it's probably the worst I've heard. It really puts a damper on a show because the artists aren't happy/can't play properly and have to keep adjusting things.

Also, I had a GA/floor ticket and when we went in they checked our tickets and gave us wristbands. But I don't know why because every time I left to get a drink or use the washroom, the security made me show my ticket to get back down on the floor.

Finally, getting to Exhibition by transit isn't a joyride, but it's not the worst place either. The 509 from Union and the 511 Bathurst streetcar run about every 10-15 minutes and the stop is right in back of the venue (unlike the trek you have to make to get to Ontario Place/Molson).

Ricoh Coliseum definitely ranks very, very low on most people's lists of Toronto concert venues. Fortunately not too many people have been subjected to its hollow interior since very few bands actually book the venue (thankfully). I've seen TV On The Radio, Cut Copy, Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab For Cutie and Beck at Ricoh and I felt really sorry for all of the bands, not to mention the fans that paid $40+ for such a horrible experience.

First there's the less than desirable location - I think you can take the Bathurst streetcar to the Exhibition fairgrounds and walk over but I usually break down and take a cab. Once inside you'll either have a ticket in the stands (don't even bother buying a ticket if this is your only available option, seriously) or the general admission floors.

Usually security is pretty clueless and you can easily jump the barricade and storm your way into the general admission pit, which is what pretty much everyone did at the Beck show. If you're not in the pit you are SO far away in a pretty much empty venue and you won't be able to see anything.

The sound is HORRIFIC. Among the worst quality I've ever heard. Imagine a nearly empty hockey arena with tons of echoing and mic problems, plus not enough bodies to absorb the sound. They never get the sound right. I think it was the DCFC/Franz show where the power actually went out altogether and the band got pissed.

It's a pretty well-known fact that Toronto is seriously lacking decent mid-range venue spaces (Ricoh seats 4000-9000 people but I have a feeling there've never been more than 1500 in there).

When the Toronto Maple Leafs brought their farm team to Toronto, they needed a place to put them.  And let's face it, they need all the growing room they can get.  So, up went the Ricoh Coliseum in a central easy to get to location that houses some fairly decent tier-below-the-top hockey.

Found on the CNE Fairgrounds , the Ricoh Coliseum is used primarily for hockey, but has also housed some exhibits when The Ex is on during the summer.  But mainly, it's a hockey venue.  In the design of the place, the planners also made it into a concert venue which, depending upon the act, can be good or devastating.  The acoustics I find are too dependent on your position in the venue.  For Kraftwerk I was on the main floor and the sound was fantastic.  For Franz Ferdinand, I was in the furthest seat away.  The sound was echo-ey, distorted, and crap.  So take your chances.

If you're not a Leafs season ticket holder (and if you are, I'll gladly take any donations you can provide, since you're obviously really well off), this provides the next best alternative.  You are able to see some current and soon-to-be hockey stars at a price that is reasonable for a family.  Finally, an affordable hockey game.

I've been here for hockey games quite a bit and I feel that this stadium isn't as bad as one might think. The interior is okay but it could look like the Rogers Centre interior if it's not looked at properly. The food isn't as over priced as other Toronto stadiums but it's still over. The food also isn't as bad with most stadium food items tasting fine. The sound is okay but it's a small arena so I'm fine with it. It's also a pain to take the street car because the 511 Bathurst takes a long time with or without traffic.

I came here to watch the UFC weigh-ins for UFC 129.  There was basically three massive lineups for the event.  One was paid attendance, one was for UFC club members, and one was for the general public.  They were all conveniently labelled, and even though it was a very large crowd it was easy to see where to lineup.  I have to say, because the lineup was so long, that I didn't think we would get in.  But as soon as the doors opened the line moved smoother than any line I've ever been in.  Getting past security and the ticket checkers was a breeze and there was plenty of seating available.  I sat at the very top row at the side and thought the view of the stage was quite good.  This is the only event I've been to at this venue but I thought it did an adequate job.

I've spent most of my life in or around the big city and so never really got to experience AHL hockey.  I had the Leafs, who either played in the classic Maple Leaf Gardens or in the Cavernous ACC, but when the Toronto Marlies came to town I got interested and I got to see how hockey should be watched.  The Ricoh Coliseum is everything the ACC is not.  It is small (relatively) and intimate and yet you still get the feel of being in a pro sporting venue.  The one major disappointment with the Ricoh Coliseum is that the food selections are terrible, you can have pizza and if you want something else you can go hungry.  The seats are relatively comfortable and they all have good sight lines and even the "nose-bleeds" would be golds if it were at the ACC.  I would recommend to every Leafs fan to go the Ricoh to see the Marlies play not only because it's a good arena, but the seats are as cheap as $10 and that's a good deal.
