Great neighborhood florist with both classic and modern designs. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. A def must as a contact in your phonebook to get you out of any situations that a bouquet of flowers could not resolve.

Couldn't have had a better experience for a custom flower order at Richard Salome Flowers. Staff was so friendly and helpful. I had to scramble and find a custom flower arrangement for a event I was going to that night, after the first florist royally screwed it up ( see my other reviews). The staff was very patient and filled my request immediately and designed a intricate arrangement in a matter of minutes. From that brief experience I knew that they are complete pros and would not hesitate to give them my business for any special occasion. Flower quality was very fresh and a great selection of just eye popping flowers that you would see in a magazine.

I have used Richard Salome Flowers for at least one flower arrangement every year when I travel to Manhattan. I like to get something better than street vendor flowers for my best client to put in their lobby when I come to visit. So far, 4 years running the flower arrangements have been a big hit with my New York clients. Not the cheapest florist in NY but this is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for".

My family's used Salome Flowers since I was really young and went to school with the owner's son. They've continued using them because of their fantastic work. They recently did the floral design for the engagement party my parents hosted for my fiance and me and I was blown away. They took my parents' description of my floral preferences (voluminous flowers with a very modern and contemporary feel) and our wedding color scheme and hit the ball out of the park. We got the most beautiful arrangements of peonies in different shades of pink with interesting botanical accents cut short and even in modern square vases and the most gorgeous white orchids my family and I had ever seen. Needless to say, they'll be doing my wedding.
The only down side? A little pricey. If you're looking to make a big impression (think Martha Stewart contemporary tastes with even better execution), it's worth the money.

History
Established in 1980
In September of 1980 Richard Salome launched one of the first creative
floral design studios on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Over thirty years later his design studio is in full production.
Catering to a diverse clientele Richard and his staff have had many great
opportunities to create spectacular floral creations for many events through
the years. Richard notes he has always gone above and beyond to offer
the very best service & design to his clients. He imports many products directly from flower farms and growers to insure the best quality flowers.
Richard and his staff have been highly trained in all aspects of floral design and artistic related services.
Meet the Business Owner: Richard S.
Richard Salome Flowers was opened in 1980 as one of the first artistic
design florists in NYC by Rick Salome and his wife Lorraine.
Richard came to NY in the mid 70's and was working in performing arts.
He drifted into another creative field of floral design when he had the chance to intern with one of the top society and true design florists of the time. He took a chance and opened the artistic floral shop he had always envisioned.
He has many great opportunities over the years for his work and designs to be featured in numerous publications and film.
His work and design has graced the homes of many interesting clients,
companies, clubs and places of worship.
