This little phô sanctuary is one of many in this area, but we'd especially recommend it. The service is charming. Direct quote from my partner: "This is the best tripe I've ever had!" How many times in your life are you going to get to say that, or hear it, even!? The space fills up with locals early in the evening. The cook will come out to ask you how you like your phô. As Americans, this was our first time with the "apportez votre vin" (bring your own wine) idea, and at first we were skeptical. But we had fun picking out our favorite Bordeaux at the Sac classique around the corner for one quarter of what you'd normally pay at a restaurant. The décor was kitschy, but it worked, and the vibe was just right. This is one of our new favorites.

Low key, no frills cafe atmosphere. The staff was very nice. The food was pretty average. I'd return because of the staff and low prices.
note: based on my limited walking around Montreal, it appeared that Denis and St Laurent offered better restaurant options. Pho was located in a pretty cheesy, chain restaurant, touristy section of town
