I love this restaurant. The lunch menu is not expensive and really good. Service is excellent, nice waiters.

The stake Prince Arthur is delicious! Lunch special comes with an entrance and a dessert.

They have nice terrace. If the weather is nice, you can't go wrong.

Friends and I were wandering the stretch of St. Laurent near Prince Arthur and couldn't decide on what to eat. Yelp indicated a bunch of restaurants on tiny Prince Arthur St so we made our way down. After what seemed like an eternity we settled on Le Prince Arthur (restaurant indecision when you're hungry apparently bends space-time and affects general relativity).

Once seated we were told that this was a BYOB place so as soon as we had ordered I stepped across the street to the local dep to get some cheap wine for dinner.

I ordered the filet mignon with "giant" shrimp from their Table d'Hôte menu. The filet was cooked a little under medium, which was ok but I really wanted it medium. It was also not a round filet as you would expect. It was more like a fine cut of steak.  The "giant" shrimp were more like small prawns or slightly-larger-than-average shrimp. In any case, they were served with melted butter sauce, which I used to give them a little bath before I ate them. My friend ordered the rib steak with scampi, which looked identical to what I ordered. I couldn't tell the difference between his plate and mine even down to the sides and presentation.

The service was quick and efficient. They even came to tell us that since there was a party of 100 people upstairs, they would rush our order through before theirs so that we wouldn't have to wait an hour for our food. I appreciated that.

So the food was good. I was able to bring my own wine from across the street and we were served pretty quickly but there just wasn't much of anything special about the place to get more than 3 stars.

We stumbled into this place for lunch just before catching our flight out and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service here!

They have an amazing lunch special.  And to sum it up, it feels like you had a 4 course meal for $12-15!

    Garlic bread - check
Greek veggies n sauce - check
Lobster bisque soup dejour - check
Prince Arthur Steak cooked perfectly - check
    Rice pilaf - check
    Side salad - check
    Dessert - check
    Coffee - check

    Incredible value!

I wish I took a pic of all the food that arrived.  I enjoyed pretty much all of it.  Even the slice of cucumber and shredded carrots with Greek sauces to dip, and the garlic bread was amazing.  And the dessert and coffee at the end were included too!

I dunno why anyone has anything to complain about.  I don't get the other low star reviews already posted.  Its in a quiet boulevard of many other restaurants.  It also happens to be across from a strip joint... but they got those literally on every corner in Montreal...

    Definitely coming back next year!

YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH IN THIS PLACE.. HOWEVER...

I don't like their attitude towards 'wasting food'.

So I ended up in here for a dinner... man greeted us at the door and showed us this menu on what he had to offer.  There is a lot of choose from: fish, chicken, shrimp, pork chop, italian cuisine, etc.
This 'combo' comes with soup/salad and coffee/tea and dessert.
All for roughly $20-25 ... which in my opinion is a great deal.

So we get seated and the waiter kindly comes over and suggests we hop over across the street to grab a bottle of wine and they will open it free of charge.  (side note - I love this idea.. why don't we have this in Toronto , where you can bring your own bottle of wine .. grrr).
So we get the wine he opens is then we start ordering.
We get TWO appetizers now .. so crab salad, escargo, or spinach pie THE the soup/salad and then the main meal.
By the time my escargo (which was excellent) and salad (which was huge) came ..I was getting the full feeling already.
    THEN THE MAIN MEAL CAME.

Well let me tell you how much food there was .. it could feed an army!
chicken, shrimp, rice, veggies, potatoes... I mean honestly who could eat all this??
So of course half of my meal goes back because Im just loaded and my parents did the same thing.
Waiter came over and asked how everything was and we laughed saying "it was good but way too much food"
Waiter replied "better too much than too little"

NOW .. my take is ...

Yes I know Im complaining about having too much food on my plate , however you should have been the food going back and being wasted.
I mean there are kids in the world that would die for that food and here half the restaurant is sending all this food back .. just a waste.
I think they should make an adjustment on their portions to be honest.  It's just too much food and then by the end of it all you feel like shit anyways because you're over stuffed!

I will admit I liked the food but Im sure there is better quality out there for french food.
I would go back because of the value but I'd like something alittle more French Cuisine and I don't think that was them.

I decided to try my limited French and ordered the Cajun Salmon.  The waitress was nice to accommodate me and spoke slowly.  I was able to follow along until she asked something about which salmon I wanted.  She asked if I wanted the salmon from the Menu de Soir.  I said no and pointed to the cajun salmon.
When the salmon came out I could not see any cajun seasoning, so I'm fairly certain they gave me the salmon from the Menu de Soir and not the cajun salmon from the main menu.
The salmon came with garlic and lemon butter, roasted potatoes, and vegetables.  I can't really rate this place higher than 3 stars since they didn't give me the dish I ordered.
