Review from Allie W.
We stumbled in here for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised. They had a 2-course lunch priced from about $9.95-$13.95, depending on the entree.
First course was the soup du jour, a delicious cream of carrot. If we'd opted out of the soup, we could have had a tomato juice or V8 instead. Odd choice, but maybe a Quebec way to get your recommended daily vegetables?
My main was the mushroom and cheese omelet, and hubby's was the coq au vin. Both came with a side of mashed potatoes and carrot salad. All in all, very tasty, and our bill was about $30, including tip.
The service was attentive, serving primarily a tourist crowd. The ambiance is a little dated, the chairs threadbare. Not a place I'd seek out, but if I stumbled upon it again I'd happily stay for lunch. -

Poor! Stale wine. Thin soup. Overpriced. I expect the latter in this part of old Quebec City - but this was outstandingly bad. Avoid. On top of it all, had to traipse upstairs to do the credit card checkout, even though they had a wireless POS device. Boss not trusting her staff or something? Not a good sign.
