Review from Marc L.
Québec, QC
The BEST place for authentic Latin-American food in the city.
Family-run, tasty, good service (if a little slow when busy). If you don't know what to get, try the "Assiette Mamie" which is a little bit of everything. My favourites and what I always get now are the Enchilada Verde, the Pupusa and the Empanada. The Chili and Guac are good as well and for a tasty entrée, the yucca frita are awesome! (basically, thick-cut and fried root vegetable, like fries). If you dare, ask for the brown habanero sauce (the spiciest they have... sssoooooooooooooooooo good!) -

Probably one of the most authentic Latin American eateries in Quebec City. It is a small, family-run restaurant and gets really packed during lunch and dinner time. Because of that, I would advise making a reservation ahead of time if you're planning to eat there.
Their menu has a wide range of Mexican and Salvadorean dishes. I always start off with guacamole and chips when I eat there; it's so good it would be crazy not to. Their pupusas are also excellent and that's most likely an opinion shared by many because they sometimes run out of ingredients to make them. The tamales were sort of hit or miss for me; the first time they were fine, but the other time the corn dough was really mushy.
I find myself wanting to go back to this place often for a cheap lunch or dinner, except on Sunday and Monday when they are (unfortunately) closed.
