    YAY!
I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. I was a sugarbox devotee for about a year, but now that I've gone back to school I really can't afford their prices. Naturally I was nervous to go anywhere else... but wow! I have to say, Rescue was great! I was excessively early because it was pouring rain and all the cafes in the area were packed, and the receptionist was very friendly and let me wait around.

I saw Sabrina. She was very nice, thorough and professional. It barely hurt. She didn't double dip either, contrary to a previous review. The lighting is pretty heinous but hey, how pleasant can getting waxed really be?

At $35 for a brazillian I am definitely going back.

Ah, my go-to place for waxing! It was recommended to me by a friend because I have very sensitive skin. I have never experienced any problems after my waxings and the staff are professional and friendly.

It is always clean and the decor is simple, but fairly upscale. The estheticians are mostly Eastern European, but they sure as heck know what they are doing and are so friendly. At only $35 for a clean, well done Brazilian, I am happy to be a fairly regular customer.

Rescue does waxing for men too!
I have been going to Rescue for many many years. They probably do the most male waxing in Vancouver. Val and Amy are great and the prices are competitive. You can see the services and prices on their website http://www.rescuestudi...

The price and quality combination is definitely as good as it gets.
I am originally from San Francisco, and this Vancouver hotspot is the best by far! There is no where that I know of that gives you the best quality for a $35 brazillian.
If you can get Val, she is absolutely amazing, a sweetheart and totally honest. She is one of the few waxers that admitted to me that you should never pay over $45 for a wax, and that is coming from the waxer!
The other estheticians are hit and miss, but recently I have only had good ones. The place is friendly and really clean and comfortable. Book ahead though because as summer approaches, the appointments fill up really quickly

I have been going to Rescue for three years now for my French bikini wax.  In the last year, I recently changed to Dina (after my original waxer left).  I chose Dina because she was the only one who used hard wax.  It was a little more expensive, but after trying it I was hooked!  There was very little pain, and no redness and sensitivity after the wax.  Normally I would be red and very sensitive for a full day after the wax, but not with the hard wax.  It was a revolution and I will never go back to regular wax again.

Unfortunately Rescue has stopped ordering the hard wax, so I won't be going back.  I was really sad about that because Dina is really a very lovely woman and we laughed a lot together.

When I was a customer, I rarely waited in the reception area for more than 5 minutes, and was out in 20-30 minutes.  The rooms are sparse, but comfortable.  The only thing that I didn't like was that the floors in the wax rooms could be a little sticky (makes sense given all the wax), so I didn't like standing on them barefoot as I changed back into my clothes.  Otherwise, everything else was very clean and efficient.  Pricing was very good.  I would recommend it if you don't mind regular wax.  I am going to hunt for a new salon that uses hard wax instead.

As you move into a new city, there a few staple places/things that you need to add to your rolodex... your new hair stylist, your favorite rainy day bowl of soup, a reputable alterationist, and most importantly (and potentially the most painful hunt) is a great esthetician.

One of my first days in my new neighborhood, I stopped into a great shop called Bodacious and in there I found my 'Welcome to Vancouver Angel.'  She wrote down some 15 must try restaurants, recommended stylists, where to get the best bubble teas and she gave a 5 star for Rescue Skin Care and Hair Removal.  She recommended Val - unfortunately Val wasn't available when I needed to go in, but I was reassured that all their technicians were great.

It is an easy to get to location off of Granville and 7th.  Small, undescript, but great!  I felt welcomed, safe and relaxed considering the situation I was about to put myself into.

So without going into much detail about it all (a little personal for the internet) - go!  Have faith!  They are great!  They do wonderful work and are oh so friendly.  And my newly shaped eyebrows are fantastic!

I can't wait to go back and try their other services!

Thank you Rescue for making the most nerve-racking hunt for a new esthetician seem easy, fun and nearly painless!

This was a place recommended to me by my best friend. Basically, she told me that she had friends with very hard to wax hair, and they will only frequent this place to get anything waxed. That piece of info sold me right there!

It's not just their expertise in hair removal that brings me back time and time again. I'm all about getting the most bang for my buck, and I think this place is relatively cheap and provides a high level of service. Now, it's not a fancy spa, but it is clean and professional. I think it's about $35 for a brazilian.

All the estheticians were great. The majority of them are Eastern European ladies, and I can say that each waxing experience was almost painless because they were so good at what they do. Makes you forget they're yanking out lots and lots of your hair by the roots.

$35 for an awesome, painless brazillian? I'm sold already!

I've been here about 10-15 times in the past 2 or so years, and i've always been happy with my experience. If you're new, they go through the process professionally and never make you feel uncomfortable.

While not pain-free (it IS waxing) it's definitely tolerable. I've also never made an appointment with a specific aesthetician as all of them are great, chatty, and polite.

It's nothing fancy, it's clean, bright, professional, and inexpensive...it's all that i could ask for!

It also gets busy in the summertime, so make an appointment! That being said, I have made same-day appointments in the past.

I have been to Rescue over a dozen times, each time to a different wax professional (whoever is available)  and never had a bad experience. The location is very convenient, the service is clean and fast and the prices are fair. I can't ask for anything more. Recommended.

For the price and quality of a wax - this is the best in Vancouver!
I've been a client for over two years now.  I prefer Maria, but the others I've had were great as well.  The place is nothing fancy, but it's nice and clean and professional - everything you need from a good waxing studio.

They double dip their wooden sticks and don't wear gloves while waxing.  Unsanitary :(

I was lucky to have my sister recommend this little place as soon as moved to Vancouver. The best (or more bearable lol) brazilian waz, for only $35! Everyone there is good, but I love Amy. She chats through a potentially awkward procedure and it's over before you know it. I've also had a really nice facial there (Thanks bf!), but it's the pro waxing job that I keep coming back for.

I am a fan of Laura and the Brazilian. I have been scared all my life to get hair ripped off from down there but my friend reccommend Laura. She made me feel normal, talked the whole time, and i barely felt a thing. Well that's a lie but it wasn't as bad when you are distracted by good conversation. The place isn't fancy but it isn't dirty. 35$ price point is definitely reasonable.
