Oh man, these guys are good.  Just book them, you won't be disappointed.

I moved from a seriously crammed 2 bedroom to a 2 story townhouse, with LOTS of super heavy and fragile furniture and equipment.  They were fast, really friendly, never complained even despite the size and weight of the pieces, some of which had to go up a flight of very skinny stairs.  The guys are extremely professional.  Also, they have great rates, final cost was as expected.

No complaints, will book again next time I eventually move.

So I had a horrible moving experience. The first movers I hired fell through on the day of the move. So after searching Yelp we found Rent A Buddy and saw great reviews. It was a long shot but it was worth a try.

We called and thankfully after some reviewing their appointments. They managed to fit us in for an early afternoon move. We were really happy because we had no idea how we were going to move our stuff.

Interesting point I should add is that we live right by the address listed here on Yelp. We walk by daily and took our dog for a walk after booking our time, we saw the van parked in a parking lot. After grabbing lunch it was gone. Things that made me go 'hmmmmm?'

Just before 2:30pm rolled around we recieved a phone call. Apparently they were till at the previous appointment and asked to reschedule for 4pm. Frustrated and just neeeeeding my stuff moved I agreed.

Fast forward to 4pm I called as no truck had arrived. The guy on the phone lied and said he originally told me 4:30-5pm. Sorry I was stressed but not stresses enough to mess up my times. As we were on a tight schedule for the move (gf had job interview, I work nights at a hospital, old supers wanted us out to clean, etc).

So 5pm rolls around and they FINALLY show up. Two real nice guys who were cool and laid back. Stars for that, for sure.

They asked about the boxes in the lobby then took them up to see the heavy stuff and our bags (garbage bags of clothes, etc).

The main guy looked around and.got a worried look on his face. Apparently they scheduled a move out of city for 7pm.

He saw I was desperate so he told me he would do the job. Although he might only get to do the bigger stuff and boxes. I told him if its about time and man power I'll bust my butt to help with the move.

So while they grabbed the bed, tvs, couch, etc. I grabbed as much of the bigger/heavier stuff as well. I also started to bring down bags as well.

With the truck full of the heavy stuff and boxes. I was told thats it and they couldnt move any more. This was irking me because we entered into a 3 hour minimum move charge and we hadnt even reached an hour into the move yet.

They asked me to show them where the place was, so I told them. They offered for me to jump in the back of the truck to tag along. I did show even though we werent finished moving out and the painting/floor crews were.standing outside our apartment to get in.

We arrived to a cluster mess of people moving. Due to the fact they originally said 2:30pm and it was now almost 6pm. This meant that we could not put an elevator 'in service' and just had to use the elevator as is.

So what did the guys do? They left my stuff in the lobby. Telling me they'd only bring up the big stufd because they had to go.

During this time I was calling the company to see if anything could be done. The guy on the phone was nice and understanding and said he'd talk to the guy. Which he did, however the guy made it seem like it was only 'a few bags' and that I could easily walk it over.... IN THE RAIN?!

So after much back and forth it was decided the guy on the phone would be by in the morning to grab the bags in a pickup truck.

At my whits end I agreed. It then came time to pay and what I originally was told $89/hr flat rate. Turned into $89+hst. So for under two hours work, with me having to move the majority of stuff myself. I ended up paying $290 because thats all I had/could afford. Which I honestly do not think the service is worth what I paid.

In the end we ended up begging a friend from out of town to come by and move our bags over to the new place. Three trips, in a car, and we were done. In enough time to still have dinner.

As the guy moving brought up with me, and I agreed. From now on I am going to just secure my own moving truck (uhaul, discount, etc) in advance or just sell my stuff. As I am now turned off of hiring a moving team to help.

Really nice guys. Glad they were able to help in a pinch. But not the service I was expecting, for that kind of money. Make sure if you are hiring movers to do it well in advance.

These guys are great! Very efficient, polite nice guys who do exactly what they promise. They dismantled our confounding Ikea L-shaped couch with humour and patience and put everything back together again for us at the other end.  When our bikes just finally wouldn't fit in the truck at the very end one of the boys actually rode one of down to the new house for us. Recommended!

Quick, efficient and friendly. I don't expect much from movers but Rent-A-Buddy Moving was an exceptional experience.

    *** SERVICE ***
Service was great. The booking process was very straight forward, starting with an online estimate, confirming a date and getting a confirmation email (pdf with all the details). Even after this, they were still flexible with time. There were 2 movers who were both very courteous, friendly and social. They seemed very happy to be doing their job, which makes me feel better about employing them. They took care to make sure that nothing would get damaged, neither the furniture being moved nor the apartment I was moving from. These guys are insured just in case something does happen. They are very good at geometry too and were able to fit large, oddly shaped furniture into small spaces like the elevator. They operate quickly and finished the move in 3hrs.

    *** PRICE ***
Pricing is good for their level of service. No hidden fees and they have a 20 cubic ft truck.

    *** EXPERIENCE ***
Rent-A-Buddy Moving was a great experience in moving. They were quick, cordial and professional. Their entire process is very straightforward and they are quite flexible. Their prices are good for the level of service provided. I would definitely recommend everyone who needs movers to use Rent-A-Buddy.

I booked my summer move with Rent-A-Buddy after doing some research on yelp. (Thanks guys! Just another reason why yelp rules.) I made a spreadsheet (of course), but Rent-A-Buddy pulled to the front of their list with their lower prices, big truck (I think they sent a 20ft one) and positive reviews.

I had an excellent experience with Rent-A-Buddy Moving. The movers were really friendly, but professional. The move did take a while (4-5 hours) but then again, I had (have) a lot of stuff. They moved from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor apartment without complaint (all stairs).

No hidden fees, they explain what you will pay upfront. $85 an hour, and the last hour is charged in 15 minute increments so you aren't charged for the full hour if you only use part of it. And they accept visa (although we tipped with cash).

Next time I move, these will be the guys.

Awesome.  With a capital A.  My partner found them online, and after reading several glowing reviews, had the impression that we should go with them, so we did.

I went along with it, not expecting too much either way.

But these two men were pleasant to work with, and I'd say efficient.

$80/hour for two men, plus usage of their 18.3 cubic sq ft truck (delivery), no hidden costs for gas.  We packed A LOT in.  The items were safely delivered.  No damage was done to the mattress, sofa, or smaller items!

We moved at the worst time of the year, during the winter, but it was good b/c they had much time and energy to offer us.

One part that I love best, was that they hummed from time to time.  In a sincere way, like humming was a way for them to get through their daily grind.  I felt like we had two large dwarves  hi-ho  hi-ho-ing, with us.

Worth their hourly rate, plus a deserved tip.  :)
Drama-free dudes that were just plain easy to work with.
Rent-a-Buddy was a pleasure to have around, from start to end!!!

These guys were great. I used them in August and if needed will use them again. Always nice when you can someone come out that works hard and can fit some laughs in there too. I will admit, I would have given them 4.5 stars if  could and this is only being for the fact that they tried getting off the door for just over 30 mins with no luck as the bolts were solidly in place, but then I noticed the hinges could be taken off which then they did in record time. In the end I got charged the extra 30 mins and personally think that they should have thought about that first and well saved me the extra time it took going nowhere. But, nonetheless happy with the service and will use them again and throw their name around.

They moved me recently from a one bedroom to a bachelor. We have never met, all was arranged by email. Showed up in time, 3 easy go-along guys. I boxed my stuff previously - they were fast, efficient. I guess they are all musicians in their spare time. I would recommend them anytime.

I had the fortune of having Anthony and Dave helping me move. Great service, arrived on time and were polite and good at what they do.

Great attitude and they actually care about your furniture and give suggestions in order to protect it from scratches etc.

They helped disassemble a furniture piece and helped unscrew a door off and screw it back on to move in larger pieces. I was paying by the hour, though but it was still very helpful.

No hidden fees and you pay 80ish/hour.

    Best movers I ever had.

These guys are absolutely fantastic.  I've moved 5 times over the past 10 years, and Rent-A-Buddy are by far the best movers I've used.  My movers Jamie and  Matthew were great guys, totally easy going, polite and experienced.  My girlfriend and I loved the job they did.  I would definitely recommend these guys to anybody planning a move.
