I've eaten some pretty miserable food on top of mountains, at ski resorts in general, so it's a huge bonus when you're skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb and you have the Rendezvous to rely on.  The wild mushroom soup and caramel cinnamon rolls are just killer.  Fries, portabello sandwiches are pretty good. Veggie burgers are okay (it's not fake meat... it's a bean/veggie mashup, which I usually loathe).

Mostly, it's crowded. But I hear all the hilltop lodges are crowded.  So be prepared for that.

For context, I haven't been to any other restaurants on Blackcomb, so this could be the worst.  But really, if this is as bad as it gets, then I'll take a spanking.

Oh, they serve poutine (a Canadian delicacy featuring french fries smothered in cheese curd and gravy). Which I didn't eat, but I saw a lot of people up there devouring it. Next time.

This place is conveniently located up top between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. My butt, toes, and fingers were freezin, so I needed a hot cocoa baaad. The place was packed! Why is everyone's butts, toes, and fingers frozen at lunch hour??

My daughter had chicken fingers & fries, and I had brocolli cheddar soup and a cup of hot cocoa. YES!! Then I saw interesting meal, fries with cheese curds and gravy called poutine? Wow, someone needs to do a black diamond mogul's run after lunch to burn off those calories. Wait, every table has them. Okay, gonna have to try that instead of the soup next time!

We didn't get a chance to try out different meals, because the line was loong, except for the hotdog/chicken fingers. I had food envy on the pasta dish. We love our table location, primo real estate. Next to the heater, and window, and definitely great spot to take awesomeness pictures.

Overall, it's a thumbs up. Just come earlier to beat the lunch crowd. Enjoy Whistler/Blackcomb!!

The Rendezvous is conveniently located near the Peak 2 Peak gondola spanning between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, making it one of the most highly trafficked locations during lunch time.  Finding seating here was absolutely insane during peak hours, and our hero only managed to find a spot on the lower floor.  As for the food, it's fairly average, but everything tastes good when our hero is hungry after a couple hours of skiing.  The burritos here are huge, and they have poutine as well!  In addition to food, they serve a variety of bottled beer here, which easily facilitates inebriated skiing.

    PROS:
    - Glove drying machines located on the lower level.
    - Location is easy to get to from either Whistler or Blackcomb.

    CONS:
    - Way too crowded.

Think Roundhouse on Blackcomb. It's big, it gets super crowded, the food's the same as everywhere else, plus the staff here seems to be considerably ruder than every other restaurant season after season. The entire place also just looks rundown.
Of all the restaurants on the mountain, this is one that I just refuse to go to.

Sure, it's not as great as Roundhouse.  Although I heard Glacier was better, but their selection wasn't too bad.  I split a Mountain size hearty mushroom and Taco Fish Salad (http://static.px.yelp....) with my sister and it was perfect.

The place does get crowded, but we were lucky to snag a table for 5 quick.  The food as I said in my Rendevous review is better than Lake Tahoe for a ski resort, so I gotta give it up for these places.

The food isn't anything to rave about, but then again I haven't had mountain top ski resort food elsewhere that I would rave about. Rendezvous is conveniently located, provides always-reliable food. If you stop there when everyone else does, the line-ups can be long but they move you along efficiently. Reasonable prices, considering they have to haul everything up there. I am thinking of that giant burrito, it feeds two easily, even two hungry skiers.

Rendezvous gets an extra star for nostalgia.  I've been drinking their hot chocolates and filling up on their hamburgers and chicken noodle soups for the last (oh my) 15 years.  (I'm really not that old, my parents just put my on skis when I was relatively young).

Ski lodge food is always kind of meh for ouchie kinds of prices, but the soups are always hot, the burgers always juicy, and the hot chocolates always creamy.  I don't think I've ever left here NOT ready to tackle the slopes again.

Plus, I saw Pamela Martin (the CTV news anchor) here!
