My favorite pizza in the area, and 3rd of all time. Service has been mixed, but not so tragic that it's ever taken away from the deeeeelicious pizza. I haven't ventured to try much else because the pizza is so damn good. My absolute favorite is the #22 Pomodoro Formaggio: Fresh chopped tomatoes along with the four cheeses, Mozzarella, Ricotta, Pecorino Romano, and Parmesan. Sprinkled with fresh basil and Regina garlic sauce. I've never been late night but they have $1 slices, which is a tasty way to soak up a night of drinking! There are a few great wines by the glass and a full bar. This place is always busy but not too busy that you're stuck with a long wait.

Always a reliable good meal! Get #22 and you won't regret it!! (other than your expanding waste-line, of course).

We are from Chicago and wanted to try some east coast pizza.
Classic pizzeria, nothing fancy.  Lots of tv's with all the games playing.  Decent beer selection.
I do have to say that I like that they give you 3 ways to finish the crust.  we picked regular and it was perfect.  Nice and crispy, without being under or over cooked.  We had the Regina's sausage, I thought it tasted like frozen pizza sausage.  My husband in general thought it tasted like Sbarro pizza (which is not a compliment).
When taking our pizza out of the oven I guess they dropped our pizza.  The manager kindly came out and offerred us a free appetizer but we didn't want anything.  They made us another pizza, but we didn't get anything comped since we didn't want an appetizer.  Our sever Ally was very nice and friendly.
Very nice service.  I am pleased that they came out an informed us about the pizza falling, instead of not telling us and waiting wondering what was going on.

Really good pizza and a decent beer selection.  I definitely recommend the St. Anthony's (white pizza) and the Capriciosa  if you're looking for something with sauce.  Pies are HUGE and you will always have enough left over for lunch the next day.  The bread they put out while you are waiting on your pizza is delectable.

The staff here is really nice, too.  A manager always comes over to see how you're enjoying yourself.  Everyone is very friendly.

So why am I only giving it four stars instead of five?

Well, I ate here for lunch on Sunday.  Everything was delicious and wonderful as usual, everyone was really nice, etc....the only problem is that when I took my first bite of the pizza, some sauce got on my lip and it was SO HOT that it burned me.  I STILL have a visible welt from the burn.  It looks like I've got a bad case of something nasty happening on my lip.  The place was deserted so I am guessing they just got our pizza to us faster than usual but holy jesus it was really painful.  This isn't enough to keep me from coming back, but I will definitely not be digging in immediately after receiving a pie anymore.

After much debate with my group about what to do for dinner, we finally decided on trying this place out. My significant other was hell bent on making a visit here due to the fact that, again, she saw it on Food Network. So the four of us that were in a group grabbed a bus down to what was supposedly the best pizza parlor in Boston. Or the east coast, or the US, or the world?

I normally don't care about service, as long as the food is really good. But because the pizza wasn't that amazing I have to comment on the service. We were seated in a small little booth that could barely fit four people despite walking in at around 8:30 pm when the place was hardly full. It was hard for me to get out of my chair and get back in, but this is probably just a minor occurrence, and I won't let it affect my judgment that much.

The bread and olive oil dip that came out before the pizza was sublime. None of us could get our hands off of it. I'm not sure what magic they used to cook this stuff up, but it was  extremely unique and we couldn't stop savoring the taste. In fact, maybe this affected the rest of our meal, because none of us could really eat that much pizza.

When the pizza finally came out we were super excited to delve into it. From a purely superficial standpoint, it looked nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately, the most important part of the pizza is something you can't always judge from the top, the crust. Almost all of us had a hard time eating both the pies. Either the forks and knives they provided were inadequate or we were just inept at eating pizza. To make things more confusing, the center was extremely soggy, and by the time you got to the edges they seemed a little overdone. It really wasn't enjoyable at all to eat this pizza because of how difficult it was. To make matters slightly worse, the ranch that we asked for was a little sour and tasted completely off the mark.

All of the ranch and crust woes aside, the actual blend of toppings at the top was pretty good. We got some chicken parmigiana pizza, or something of the sort, and while it was hot and fresh it really hit the spot. The ricotta cheese at the top seemed to bother everyone as it was a slightly unusual taste. However, none of us had any complaints about the vegetarian pizza that we got. The toppings were really fantastic and we really enjoyed this pizza. However, no matter how good the toppings are, if the crust isn't done to perfection the whole pizza is ruined.

All of us were slightly disappointed considering the rave reviews Bella has received. I think next time we are all in Boston we will have to come back and give this place a try. The seemed to have all the right ideas, maybe the execution was just slightly off?

Not a good place for cheap eats in Allston.  i mean $14 for a large cheese pizza is steep for me.  the atmosphere is great.  they seem to have some trivia nights and the place is crowded on weeknights.  it seems a lot better than the old sports depot.  the tv's aren't so overwhelming and the staff is friendly.  the rest of the menu is priced reasonably, but this is defiantly  not cheap college-kid food.
for the record, it was a really good cheese pizza

I have to admit that I was heartbroken when I heard that The Sports Depot was closing down.  It was one of my favorite places to catch a Bruins game, and one of the few bars (up until the team won the Cup) that was always very hockey friendly.  But my pain was eased a little when I learned that a Regina was going to be taking the Depot's place.  I actually was able to have Anthony Buccieri on my radio show to make the official announcement, which was pretty cool.

As far as the place... they did an amazing job turning the old sports bar into a beautiful, brand spanking new Regina.  The actual bar is very nice, and maybe I've just been lucky but the folks they have tending bar have always been attentive, prompt and friendly.  Plus if you're a night owl like myself, you can get slices at the bar for $1 each (if I'm remembering correctly it starts after 10pm).  Of course you can never have just one... so on more then a few occasions I've stopped in for a slice and a beer, and ended up ordering 2 large to-go.  The pizza is just that good!

Came here over the weekend to watch the Pats game.  It's a good place to watch sports for sure.  TVs on every wall.

The service left much to be desired.  Waitress was mostly MIA and forgot to bring me my beer.  I guess I'll cut them some slack since it was a busy night, but on the other hand I didn't see any waitstaff even walk through our section of the restaurant most of the night.  Were they hiding in a corner somewhere?

Thankfully the food here is pretty good.  Ordered the nachos and the chicken parm calzone.  The calzone was just okay.  I've had better elsewhere, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting.  Usually chicken parm is breaded chicken meat, but theirs was cubed chunks of chicken with parmesan cheese and sauce stuffed into a calzone (no breading on the chicken).  The chicken was also a bit dry.  I've gotten pizza from here before and the pizza is generally good, but I would not recommend the chicken parm calzone.

The nachos, however, were delish!  Def. some of the best nachos I've ever had.  Not skimpy on the toppings at all, and the sausage meat was a great touch to the dish.  Chips were nice and crispy and not too thick.  Thinking about them right now is making me salivate.  If anything, I'd be back just for the nachos.

I come here all the time for lunch and it's a great place for a group for lunch, dinner, after work, etc.  Plenty of seating, great bar, room for kids.  The typical Reginas menu with terrific North End pizza and entrees.  The sandwiches are huge and their fries are great.

Parking is really easy since there is a lot.

Soooo, let me get this straight.

Regina pizza, close to my house, with ample parking, ample seating, and no waiting?!? Sign me up!

Despite a super-crowded parking lot (there's more parking behind Ace Ticket), my brother and I were seated right away, perfect for a night when we were STARVING. We each ordered ten-inch pies which came out piping hot and amazingly delicious. We wolfed down half in a matter of minutes, then sat back full of yummy pizza and totally satisfied. I have to say, I see very little reason to make the trek to the North End and stand in line outside when I can get the real deal right here in LA.

Our server was a bit slow bringing the check, but she was obviously busy and multi-tasking like a rock star, so I'll give her a break on that one.

Minus one star for playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving, ha.

Pizzeria Regina's has always been one of my favourite places to get food. When I moved to Allston, I was very excited that one was so close to my apartment.

Food- awesome. I haven't had anything that I didn't like yet, and I'm a picky eater. Everything is reasonably priced and is prepared fairly quickly. Plus, you can't beat $1/$2 slices (with a purchase of a beverage) after 11.

Alcohol- SO MANY CHOICES. Great selections on tap, even if I usually stick to my usual PBR. There is also a great mixed drink menu and the bartenders are great and can make you pretty much anything you ask for.

Atmosphere- Such a cool place. You can watch the trains go by, right outside the window. Plus, with all the tvs, you can catch any game (pretty much anyway).

Service- I go often and most of the staff knows me pretty well. They're all super friendly and very helpful.

    Seriously. This place rocks.

When it comes to eateries, I am usually interested in one of two types of places.  One type specializes in imaginitive cuisine, created by chefs who are as skilled at preparation of dishes as they are at selecting the fine ingredients they use.

Regina's is the second kind of place.

They have great pitcher specials, a zillion TVs with NFL Sunday ticket, good quality slices available at the bar, really friendly staff, Keno for those of us who like to gamble, trivia machines for anyone who wants to play on a dedicated screen - in short, your every need for a solid football/anytime place to go and hang out with some friends, get some beers, a little grub, and shoot the breeze can be met right here.

And the pizza is pretty damn good! Also, they will make you cry and sweat with their buffalo fingers.  For reals.  I LOVE hot stuff, and their buffalo fingers...they make you weep.  Be warned.

The icing, on this particular cake of kickass, folks - is this - and anyone with suburban friends knows their first question when you invite them to join you in town "yeah, but where can I park?" Well, at Regina's, they have a small lot in the front and a big one 'round the corner.  No problems.  The place is right off the pike, so all your friends who made it big and moved out to Weston have no excuse not to join you here to watch the Pats beat the sh|t out of the Jets.  Or whoever.

Don't be fooled by your best friend saying there's somewhere better.  There isn't.  This is the classic Boston's best pizza, whether in the original location in the North End, or in one of the other spots like South Station.  You won't do better, so give up and just go for the best.    And, the Allston location is very fun for families or groups.  The take away service seems weird at first, you call and then drive up right in front and they come out with your order, but really its simple and easy enough that you won't even really care it's not as simple as delivery.

Great pizza and cold beer in frosted glasses. The pizza menu includes numbers next to the names of the pizzas. The bartender was put off when I ordered a #17, and explained to me that this wasn't a Chinese restaurant. I'll be certain to order by number AGAIN next time I'm there.

I have to say, between the cheese fries I got and my Pollo Pesto pizza I can do nothing but rave about this place. The cheese fries were huge, and topped with bacon, and my daughter and I are still eating them today, along with the pizza. This pizza was without a doubt THE BEST PESTO PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD.Layer of pesto, then the chicken, then garlic sauce and then the cheese? Yes that's how you make it.

We were seated promptly, the waiter was great and very patient since my daughter can (and was) be the biggest pain in the butt when I take her out to eat.The bread and oil was an unexpected but welcome treat as well (and unlike some places I wasn't charged for it.)

Would I recommend this place to friends? Hell yes. Is it better than the Sports Depot? Restaurant-wise yes, bar wise, couldn't tell you. I sure as hell know that there won't be douchebags with splints on their fingers pretending to be tough  by hitting a punching bag machine, so if that element is eliminated then I'm all for it

Overall great experience and anybody who tells you "No it's different than the place at the mall", they are 100% correct. Also don't wander into the kitchen, there's a very large picture of a man letting you know it's his domain.....He also makes a mean plate of cheese fries.

Did I mention I love the cheese fries?

Their plain cheese pizza is awesome. You have to at least try it. I know its hard to pass up putting some toppings on there but trust me on this =)

Do not order the baked penne puttanesca,  because it has artichoke hearts in it and you don't like artichokes!! The black olives don't taste good either

Their garlic bread with cheese is waaaaaay better than their plain garlic bread. It comes with some great sauce. Do not dip the bread in the sauce, nothing will stick. Instead use a fork to place a couple of scoops of the sauce on the bread and then eat it. This will greatly increase your enjoyment of said bread.

Yum yum yum yum yum. This pizza is so good! We got a eggplant, basil, onion, ricotta pizza and also a grilled chicken and bellpepper pizza. The crust is freakishly good. We also got a greek salad with extra chicken, which was a very large piece of chicken for $4.

Their website for ordering is really handy. It had some menu items on it that they don't offer anymore, but they called us right away to get something else.

Just so you guys know: the California Chicken Sandwich is AMAZING (as are their fries), and their Baked mac/cheese with grilled chicken is very good, too (even though the chicken is somewhat rubbery). So if you watn to try something other than their delicious/best in Boston pizza, those are good things to try!

I love how this place is so close to where I live! This place has been a lifesaver when the Hub and I are too lazy to cook. Yep.

I'm sorry, but I hated the Sports Depot. No, wait, I'm not sorry. The food was terrible. The crowd was a bunch of pink-hatted yahoos. They let a lovely old historic building run down. I've been to the new Regina a few times now. The food isn't quite as good as the original Regina, but it's still pretty good. The crowd (at least when I've been) has been more of an eating crowd than a drinking crowd. Personally, I'm partial to the chicken parm sandwich, but the pizzas and pasta are fine choices too.

Staff is outstanding - people remember your name and what you are drinking. Plenty of TVs running, plus Keno. God help me, I love keno. They have some fancy draught system that keeps the taps so cold they are icy. I can't really taste the difference myself, but it sure looks cool.

Good comfort food at a good price, outstanding staff. Nice job, Regina!!

It's very rare for a satellite location to produce a product as good as the original, but that is case with Pizzeria Regina "At the Depot."  The pizza is 99.99 percent as good as Thatcher St.

Maybe after twenty blind trials you could distinguish the two, and please sign me up for that mission! but you get the point.  The only thing different I could detect was the garlic sauce was more potent at Thatcher St., much more garlicky, but that's it.

The premises are fantastic.  Big, even sprawling, the building is a former train station, and the restaurant is a major upgrade from the sports bar that used to be housed there (the one that no one from Alston/Brighton ever went to).  Tip: add a little adventure to you meal and eat in the back room by the railroad tracks.  Every ten minutes or so a commuter train blasts by less than six feet from the windows, really cool unless you're one of those "nerves" people.

There is no need to add to the description of the pizza. It's wonderful. My brother and sister yelpers have done justice to what is arguably the best pizza on the East Coast (Chill, my NY and Mystic friends I know there are valid counter arguments, face it Regina is in the discussion).

So If you have never been to the real Pizza Regina, not the shadow branches in malls nor the overpriced stall at Quincy Market, this is a great introduction, sans the parking and often long wait of Thatcher St.

So, go, go now.  No, wait don't go. I'm going, right now in fact.  So there!

Absolutely amazing pizza!  I am very picky when it comes to pizza and I have always held Santarpio's as the pizza standard to test against, and this Regina's is the definition of mouth-gasmic!  This Regina's is way up there in terms of the Best Pizza in Boston.

I must admit that this is the first Regina that I taste tested (~Sept 2010).  The original North End location I tried months later (Feb 5, 2011) was surprisingly disappointing and this location had better pizza.  It's a bit unfair to compare the two locations so soon since I'm sure the Allston location (being new) is going all out in terms of service, quality, and quantity--hopefully they keep consistent and quality doesn't diminish over time.

The pizzas, cheese or with toppings, are all super tasty and delicious!  The dough is chewy and great.  The sauce is really good, but I still prefer (Santarpio's thick chunky sauce more).  If your order has toppings, they really load up on them.

The atmosphere is very loud and busy with lots of HD sports channels on, much like a sports bar.  The service is very friendly and courteous.  Lots of parking.

    A great place for pizza!

    Another pizza review!

From a conversation a while ago between a friend and me:

Friend: "Oh, dude, I have to bring you to the Regina's in the North End. I know you say Boston pizza generally sucks, but we gotta do Regina's".

    Me: "But I've had Regina's."

    Friend: "Where?"

    Me: "South Station."

Friend: "No dude, no. That's the chain Regina's. We gotta do the real thing".

Eventually we did "the real thing" and I'll write a review about that Regina separately because the experience between the North End Regina and the Allston Depot Regina was very night and day.

    The Allston one rocks.

I've been here a few times and I've ordered the same thing each time and each time they have been consistent. A pie with link sausage. The waitress from the first time there admittedly rocked my world. How? While she was in fact very cute, the thing that won me over was that after she took our order and left the table, she quickly came back and said directly to me "I get the feeling that you're someone that likes pizza well done, am I right?"

    Hells yeah!!!

I love pizza well done but I never ask for it well done. Why? Because it's like a test. I want to see how a place serves pizza. Unless the pizza is absolutely horrible, I tend to give a place at least 3 attempts to win me over.  You never know if a place is having an off night and I like being fair. So maybe the first time you go somewhere the pizza isn't great, it may be just that night. I mean I gave Upper Crust more than 3 tries just because I know so many people that are like "oooooo....Upper Crust." Ultimately Upper Crust has proven to me that they suck.

Is it stupid of me to not ask for pizza well done? Totally. I won't deny it, but it makes sense for me and that's how I'll continue.

So anyway, very good pizza and attentive staff (even on the other visits, the staff was great). I think they may just have a better Neapolitan pie than Pino's, but I tend to get Pino's Sicilian anyway.

And if you want the same waitress I had the first time, I believe her name was Allison.

I wasn't 100% sure on this location for a Pizzeria Regina. Seemed doomed. But I called in a large cheese on a Saturday night at 9:30PM and the place was surprisingly busy. My pizza was ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes, piping hot.

The pizza itself is perfect. I know, PR isn't for the pizza elite but for me it's the best. Pillowy crust, a tiny bit of crunch, perfect cheese to sauce ratio. Delicious!

It ws hard it say whether or not this Pizzeria Regina could hold a candle to the original. The Pizzeria Regina's of the food courts ARE NOTHING like the original.

I was really happy with my Sausage Calzone that I ordered. It was chock full of sausage, big peices of peppers and onions, and a lot of cheese! And the dough itself was very tasty. And It was GIGANTIC!

Their menu is a lot bigger than the original location. Whereas the original location only has pizza, this location has pizza, calzones, salads, sandwiches, entrees, appetizers. They have a BIG menu.

They also did a good job with making the place look good. Definitely a HUGE improvement over what Sports Depot used to be! Glad it's in the neighborhood!

I LOVE this place. My friend and I call it "The hidden gem". It's cheap (GOOD pitchers for $14.00) and there is hardly anyone in there..ever! The waitresses are always really pleasant, but the bartenders not so much...most of the time they are miserable or complaining. In fact one of them told us yesterday to write a review on Yelp..so here I am.
Plus they have $1 & $2 slices of pizza at the bar, and FREE mouthwash in the bathroom. I love it! totally hysterical. While the bartenders mostly suck, its a funny place to go

Love it! I have visited this location twice. Both times I have sat at the bar and enjoyed my experience. The Lemoncello martini's have been delicious on both occasions and made with a smile; which is always nice!!!

In addition the pizza is fabulous...which is to be expected. Most recently I tried the Giambotta pizza and boy was it yummy! I just wish they had the empty tomato sauce cans to balance the pizza on, but other than that...no complaints.

The bartenders are friendly, efficient and accommodating. If you can...ask for Amy. She's great!

This location is easy to find with plenty of parking even when the main lot is full.

We visit Regina locations in Medford and Saugus and used to visit Sports Depot as well. They've done a great job on the remodel. The place looks terrific!

We were in on Saturday night and had the Goat Cheese and Apple salad with grilled chicken. It was very nice as an appetizer for two. All of the ingredients were fresh and crisp. The chicken was perfectly hot off the grill.

Though tempted by all of the exciting dinner entrees, we opted for the famous Regina pizza. It was excellent!

The bar options are plentiful. I like a place that serves good wine. And they have interesting drink specials, as well.

I really have nothing negative to say. They've done all the right things and I really like it. I must note that the restrooms are much improved - I think it may just be the lighting... but whatever it is, I'm no longer scared to go in there like I was under previous ownership.

We will absolutely be back to try some of the dinner entrees we passed up... and that Warm Chocolate Torrone dessert that I couldn't possibly fit this time.

    Keep up the good work!

Regina O' Regina how I love thee!

Honestly, I didn't even like specialty pizzas until I started having them here. Great atmosphere, spacious seating, super-friendly service and Oh-My-God there's free Parking in front of their Place in Allston.

The You Have to Try List:

Pollo Pesto Pizza (Can you say mmmmmm???)
Buffalo Chicken Pizza (Seriously spicy, ultimate option for the buffalo-chicken lovers)
    Vegetarian Primavera
    Melanzane Pizza (see below)
Eggplant Rollatini (phenomenal, even though, yes, I usually shun vegetables)

By the way, did I mention that the original north end pizza with pepperoni is just plain amazing too?

Dear North-End loyals, you can request that the pizza be made well-done and extra thin. MMMmmmazing.

I was a little skeptical of this place knowing its a chain but the original Regina's pizza is absolutely delicious. To ensure we got a good sample we tried a slice of plain, pepperoni and a pie of #23 white pizza. All were amazing but surprisingly my fav was the good ol' plain pizza. The crust is perfect and the cheese has a great flavor. Definitely a must to check out if you're in the north end. Make sure you have some time on your hands though because there is always a line to get in.

Update...I have to say, in all fairness, I have been back since my last review and the same bartender was quite nice and remarkably more friendly.
My review was certainly fair, but I will chalk it up to a bad day for that bartender.

Chicken Pesto Pizza.....it makes me go all Homer Simpson (mouth open, making inarticulate noises of pleasure). I've had the original, the Polcari's, the food court Regina- this is the best. It's extremely hard for me to resist ordering a pie every time I drive by.
The restaurant itself is clean & lively. Having dinner with kids, the freight trains will go by occasionally which is fun for them. Full bar, tons of choices on the menu- order the chicken pesto pizza. DO IT.

We decided to check out the "World Famous" Regina Pizzeria last night. We were happily surprised to see that the location was quite nice, with an atmosphere that begged you to stay a while. They had decent beer on tap for a decent price ($3.50-4/pint).

We decided the best way for us to judge this place would on their original cheese. If a place can't make a decent cheese pie they frankly aren't worth my time.

The pizza was good but not great. We felt there was a little too much crust for the amount of cheese and sauce. From what I've seen so far, NY pizza absolutely destroys its Boston counterpart. While we were visiting my Uncle in Long Island, he picked up a pie at a random place in town that smoked this pizza. It's the water though right? =)

So, grading on a curve, this pizza gets 3.5/5 stars.

Flavors were amazing.  I had the left over slices and I loved them so much. I can only imagine if I had them right out of the oven.  Too bad had them the night before I left  Boston. I would definitely visit personally next time.

Pizza is not as good at the Medford or Boston location. Maybe after the oven is a bit older.

The full menu of other italian entrees are good. Fried Zuchini sticks are amazing.

    Waitstaff not that attentive.

Parking very difficult. You need to get there real late or real early.
