Located on the strip of kiosks near the Centre des Sciences in the Old Port, I found this cute henna tattoo shop. I saw an almost identical replica of the tattoo I've been wanting to get, so I figured I'd try it on in non-permanent fashion to see what the hubby would think. The girl that did my tattoo was very nice, although a bit wobbly with the henna dispenser (even thought she had first glazed a stencil of the print on my wrist). The tattoo looked nice enough, but I was surprised to see navy blue henna instead of the traditional brown. I was told to put Vaseline on it when I showered (which unfortunately isn't one of those essential items I pack for a weekend vacation), so I planned to shower with my arm out of the bath. However, I washed my hands at a restaurant not two hours later, forgetting my tattoo, and it quite literally washed off. Henna will bleed in water, but not wash off the way this did. Three days later, my tattoo is gone, even though I put Vaseline on in the shower now that I'm back home. A definite waste of $15.
