Just the basics. If you're looking to grab a can of soup, a bag of chips, a cola, slush or maybe a newspaper or lotto ticket this store has it. I just bought a can of Diet Coke which nicely came to exactly a dollar after tax and deposit.
This store has quite a history. In the 80s, it was Red Rooster which was a decent sized convenience/food store. Considering the location is right up the hill from both a junior high and a high school...well, they've had their issues. Some kid threw a rock at the sign and they never fixed it. So, it said Red R. I think the owners got sick of the theft and vandalism and sold it. Someone decided to stick an E in the name and it's been the Reder ever since. They do have a new sign now though.
The store today is half the size it was a over a decade ago when I was in high school. Theft was a huge problem for the Reder to the point where they made the kids line up outside the door and only let 2 or 3 in at a time during lunch and after school. Now they just don't have anything worth stealing or easily attainable. Aside from the area locals and the school kids, I'm sure they still sustain themselves by selling cigarettes within close proximity to a liquor store and a bar.
