Wonderfully Wet and Wild Wonderland... Okay enough with the alliteration, I know!
But seriously, we just visited this Spray Park for the first time and I was absolutely blown away! I only took a few pics but will definitely upload more after our next visit.
The spray area is huge with 3 separate sections - all geared towards different ages. I really appreciated the fact that they had sections that were more appropriate for wee ones! They have a snack shack that serves hot and cold food & slushies - of course!
And an even bigger surprise, they have an amazing playground complete with a spongy rubber floor to play on while the kids dry off! And the playground was HUGE too with different levels of climbing and slides - again geared to meet the needs of multiple ages groups.
There are staff on site - although this is definitely not a daycare drop off sort of situation. There are both male, female, and family change rooms/washrooms. There is a skateboard/bike park right behind the spray park and loads of baseball and sporting fields! This park is huge!
I was also impressed with the number of covered benches available providing lots of shade in addition to the grassy knoll areas.
The spray park and playground are fenced in with only one entrance/exit located directly in front of the snack shack - a definite bonus when having to watch and chase multiple yard apes... Oops, I meant children :-)
A huge 2 thumbs up... I'm even considering having my toddler's birthday party here this summer! -

This is the St. Albert river valley. The Sturgeon River flows alongside the paths used by walkers, cyclists, and joggers. I brought my bike here last summer and rode around a bit - the trail system is reasonably complex and very beautiful.

St. Albert has really invested a lot in Red Willow Park locations over the past decade or so. A lot of people are familiar with the splash park and skate park near Woodlands. I've got to say that I've always been impressed with the network of paths in St. Albert. As a kid I used to ride my bike everywhere. Sometimes I'd have a destination, other times I just followed a path to see where it would take me.
They've added maps and kilometer markers in the past decade or so. It's really neat that you can measure out your workout that way if you choose. The 0KM mark is just behind St. Albert Place. You'd have to check the maps to see how it's structured. The paths are very well maintained and multi-user friendly.
