One thing I've been told in Vancouver is that if I'm going to live here, I need to invest in some rubber boots. Unfortunately, I am super picky. When I saw this gorgeous pair of Kamik rubber boots that were grey with a black lace design in the window, I knew I had to have them. I went into the store all excited, only to find out that they only had size 6 left in stock (curse my size 8 feet!). Luckily, the lady working took down my information and told me she would call me as soon as the boots came in. This happened on a Sunday.
On Friday, I received a phone call alerting me that these gorgeous boots were back in stock! They said they'd hold them for a few days so that I could try them on. I went to the store the next day and the boots were in a pile in the back with my name on them. I eagerly tried them on and they fit like a dream! The man working was very friendly, found me a mirror, and let me walk all around the store. I happily bought them, and now am fully prepared for any rain Vancouver throws my way.
With friendly staff that are willing to order in shoes for you, and phone as soon as they come in, coupled with a cute storefront on Granville Island, Red Sky is a great place to buy shoes (and rubber boots!). I will definitely come back here again. -

If you are in need of a better pair of walking shoes after spending the day traipsing around Granville Island, you might want to check out Red Sky. They carry brands like Timberlands and Crocs. You can also find some jackets from Helly Hansen here. They also carry some Olympics apparel (but then again, who doesn't).
