Very very good pizza!
My wife and I wanted to try a new pizza place and decided to go here on Saturday night. When we walked in there was a line all the way from the counter to the door and I was a kind of worried we hit it at the wrong time but the line moved fast and once we were seated it wasn't a long wait at all for our food.
The pizza was really good. The pizzas are each perfect size for one person. I got the Napoli and it was great! The atmoshere was cool too. I liked watching them stretching the crust and being able to see the wood fire pizza oven.
We will be going back for sure! -

Classic wood-fired stone oven pizza. Lots of variety to choose from. They do get incredibly busy at lunch time during the week, but even then it's worth the wait.
I have yet to have a bad experience here, and although there is no wait staff, they are still attentive to your needs of clearing the table.
I highly recommend the stop if you like pizza at all. -

I was driving from Montreal, Canada back to San Francisco, CA. I stopped off outside Colfax, IA at a rest stop to catch up on emails and jumped on yelp to find a good spot for a dinner break (before stopping for the night in Omaha, NE).
I called a variety of places, including Red Rossa - I talked to Andreas on the phone and they'd be closing at 9pm. Most places close at 9pm apparently mid-week and I thought I'd be out of luck since I wasn't expecting to make it to Clive before 9pm. Luckily I realized that I forgot to fact that I drove into CST and gained an extra hour. Still, it was going to be close.
I arrived promptly at 8:50pm and saw that all the chairs were on the tables and they were cleaning up. I thought I was out of luck. I went in and inquired anyways whether it would be possible. Things weren't looking up at first, but they slowly warmed up as Andreas realized it was me, the guy driving to San Francisco. He talked to his employees and they were very gracious, offering to make some pizzas for me before they close.
I ordered The Italian and a BBQ Chicken. Not a problem at all for them. They offered a seat while I waited however I had been sitting all day and politely declined. Then Andreas said he could leave a table open for me to eat there while they cleaning up and closing up shop. I politely declined as I was happy to take the pizza with me and finish off my drive to Omaha, NB. Lastly, they offered me a cup to get a glass of soft drink however I also declined as I was pumped up on enough water from the drive already (this was ~hour 11 of the day). Absolutely brilliant customer service.
15 minutes or so after ordering I was on my way with the 2 hot pizzas to Omaha, NE where I'd stop for the night before continuing on to San Francisco.
Oh, and the pizza tasted great and definitely competes with the best of the SF Bay Area (like Little Star pizza, Zacharies or the Cheeseboard).
5 stars well earned! -

I was in Des Moines/Clive for three nights - the first and last night I ate here. It was that good. i was pleasantly surprised. I am pretty particular about pizza - the ingredients are fresh and the wood fired crust is really tasty. The service is friendly, Midwestern to the core. The salads are great too - I had the chop chop and the spinachi, I think. If you like a little spice, get the Napoli pizza - it's the reason I came back the last night.

The first time my boyfriend and I came here, I was a bit skeptical. We did not know what we were really doing when we ordered and it probably showed as we ordered one pizza between the two of us (we added gelato on at the end though).
I now cannot seem to get enough of this place! We often go at lunch when you can get half a pizza and a salad for a good price and rather quickly too. Their garden salad is always fresh and I like the dressing they put on it. Each time I go, I try a different signature pizza. My favorite thus far is probably the Chicken Pesto. Honestly, I have not had one yet that I didn't like!
The only downfall was the gelato. I have only had it once and it is not the best I have ever had. But, it is not bad either.
I highly recommend trying out Red Rossa if you have not yet! -

The Italian and a red wine like Zinfindal. Nice oven; feels toasty as it gets colder.

My family and I stopped by on our way home to Kansas City to try out Red Rossa for lunch. I've eaten a lot of pizza in my day, but sadly not as much of the neapolitan style as I would like. The wood-fired pizzas made here appealed to my interest. My wife got the lunch special of a half pizza (pepperoni) and salad, while I opted for the margherita pizza. It was wonderful! So much so, that when my wife decided to order chocolate gelato for dessert, I opted for a marinara pizza instead. The marinara was at least as good if not better than the margherita! The hot wood fired oven blisters the chewy bread-like crust just enough to make it so delicious. All of the ingredients appeared to be top notch. Prices were not cheap but not expensive, either. Overall, superb pizzas. We'd love to have one in the Kansas City area!

It's good to see that the Neapolitan style of pizza is making in-roads in to the state of Iowa. Red Rossa pizza is the first to establish a foot hold and enthusiastic following out in Clive. You get a good sized pie for personal consumption for around $10.

Excellent pizza (had the pesto chicken- yummmm!), good beer & 1/2 a ceasar. Great space- laid back, quick casual, but they make it fresh right in front of you. This is my 1st time here- but will defintly come back.

Great thin wood-cooked pizza joint with fast service. The only bad thing is it's a little pricey (for a pizza place) if each person gets their own pizza (since the pizzas are a little smaller than a regular small pizza) at around $10 bucks a shot.
