You know, I've been eating Rebellious Tomato pizza for years, but it had never occurred to me to actually go and eat in at their Cambie-ish location. I finally did, and, well, it's a restaurant best suited for take-out. However, even though the lights were fluorescent and the tables were tacky, we enjoyed our experience there and found the service friendly and efficient.
The pizza is great. I love the thin-crust - I don't eat pizza because I like roasted bread. They use only a smattering of cheese, so the pizza's flavours are more about the beautiful organic vegetable (and meat, I guess) toppings. I appreciate that - I'm pretty tired of greasy Daiya-covered pizzas. Daiya seems to suck the flavour out of everything that withers away beneath it.
It's not cheap, but it's not astronomically expensive. For the quality of the pizza, it's fairly reasonable; it's like the high-quality pizza you'd get in a dimly lit Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, it's double the price of most of the delivery pizza you can get in Vancouver, and because it's thin crust, you have to eat more than you would otherwise.
I wish Rebellious Tomato would put some time, money, and energy into making their 16th Ave location a comfortable, cozy eat-in restaurant. Some new tablecloths, lighting, and music could really turn what was previously take-out pizza into a delightful experience. It would help justify the cost of the pizza and please the patrons. In fact, hire me as your consultant, Rebellious Tomato! -

I am writing for my experience with the new Rebellious Tomato store in Denman and Robson St. I ordered 2 pizzas to go as there wasn't a lot of sitting provided. I had a pesto chicken and I don't remember the other meat one I got. I was not impressed with the both pizzas at all. Crust may be thin but toppings were scarce and there was barely any meat/chicken on my pizzas. It had a lot of tomato sauce but mozza was hardly to be found. I will not go back.

My vegan friend introduced me to the Rebellious Tomato, raving about their pizza and how it's the only place in Vancouver she's found that will make a custom vegan-friendly pizza. I was astounded to find the vegan pizza tasted just as good as the real thing! Maybe not exactly the same of course, but still very tasty.
There isn't much space to sit and eat at the North Van location, but it's nice to sit at the window and watch people go by while you're enjoying your pizza. You can also admire the local modern art on the walls, or watch the staff make the pizzas behind the counter. A great pizza joint for meat-lovers and non-meat eaters alike! -

3 stars for having gluten-free pizza. 2 stars for the actual quality & taste.
It took a really long time and didn't taste anything special. Plus the pizza was more like a tostada than a pizza. In fact, as we were eating it we kept mentioning how we should have just made our own pizza on a corn tortilla instead and it would have been pretty much the same, only better.
Overall I wasn't impressed. My hunt for a good slice of G-Free pizza shall continue.... -

I'd been saving the flyer from Rebellious Tomato knowing that there would be a rainy day when I wouldn't feel like leaving the house to get dinner. The day came. I phoned Rebellious Tomato and ordered a large, Tear Jerker pizza ($20, but $24.15 with tax and delivery). It arrived quickly and I was excited.
This company prides itself in using organic ingredients and making tasty, healthy pizza. Perhaps it's just that I wasn't looking for a healthy pizza - I wanted a thick slice piled with toppings and smothered in cheese - the kind that stretches like spidy-webs when you pull a slice away from the pie. I chose the wrong place.
The pizza was alright-- the crust was a little chewy and the cheese was a little sparse. I thought a pizza with two meats and three veg toppings would be a heavier. Two of us finished the large and we were both in the kitchen a couple hours later looking for a snack. -

With one week to go in my month of being vegan, I am officially tired of cooking. I coerced the BF into letting me order from Rebellious Tomato since Monday night is usually our lazy order in night, it was a perfect choice.
Rebellious Tomato works like this: you pick the size, sauce type, crust, cheese type and toppings and they slap it all together for you. I chose the wheat crust, with tomato sauce and tofu-vegan cheese, green olives, spinach, red onion, and mushrooms. You are charged per topping, and it adds up pretty quick, so I think for a large we paid about $20 plus tax and tip? To put it in perspective, if we had ordered from Panago, the large veg. mediterranean would have been about the same price.
The pizza arrived quick and was hot and I was surprised that it was thin crust, but that just means you get more of the good stuff and less of the filler so you can eat more :) There was not a ton of vegan cheese on the pizza, which was kind of a bummer, but because it is made with vegan cheese, it is a lot less greasy than what you would get from other pizza places. I would order again from this place even if I wasn't vegan, so hopefully I can try a pizza with the goat cheese next. -

If you enjoy the culinary delight of a cardboard cutout, this pizza is for you. It was extremely disappointing. The mushrooms were charred, the salt was enough to satisfy a person's yearly intake and the sundried tomatoes must have evaporated in the oven along with the customer service. Margherita pizzas are made with dried basil...how gourmet! My request to speak with the manager was met with the promise of a return call. I am still waiting. Do not waste your money on this place.

My Co-owner and myself were doing some work around the area and stumbled across Rebellious Tomato. We saw their sign outside offering gluten-free pizza and decided to try it out. We ordered the Thai Curry chicken pizza, which was really good, plus it was whole wheat thin crust making it so much better. All in all the staff was extremely friendly and the pizza was super tasty. I will definitely be back to try their other flavors.

just what the doctor ordered! i had the pesto chicken on a rainy vancouver night whilst visiting friends. it was yummy, hearty and essentially healed me of my oncoming sickness (so what if i've been snarfing down theraflu for days? i attribute my healing to this pizza!).
the service was quick and the staff was lovely. i highly recommend this place. it's far from a ghetto slice, but sometimes that just now what we need to be putting in our body, iiiiis iiiit? =) -

Rebellious Tomato Gourmet Pizza makes delicious pizza but minus the pizza guilt. They serve up a consistently tasty thin crust pizza and you can choose a whole wheat crust or a wheat-free spelt crust to go with the funky, creative topping options. I love the "sweet inferno" that combines pineapple and banana peppers with red onions, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes, and I love that everything they serve up is fresh, fresh, fresh! And they deliver.
