8/2/2011 ATTENTION ALL DOG OWNERS AND PARENTS:

We were driving home through Osoyoos the other night and decided to stop and check out Rattlesnake Canyon. We had our 2 Shelties with us and becuase it was too hot to leave them in the car we asked one of the staff members if we could take them through the park with us. They informed us that they would be able to watch our dogs while we played our game of mini golf. They assured us that the door would stay closed until we were back to pick them up to ensure that they didn't run off.
Halfway through our game, my other half noticed that the door was open. He wanted to go check but I tried to reasure him that they would be fine and that they wouldn't just let them run away. We got through 2 more holes when a staff member came and told us that our dog was playing in traffic on the #3 highway!! Of course we immediately ran towards the highway with no dogs to be seen. The staff was completely unhelpful in letting us know if one or both were missing. We asked a manager where the dog had run off to and she rudely told me that she didn't know and that she was down the road! Meanwhile, everyone else in town on the streets was trying to help us find her.
Thank god we eventually found our much loved dog before something much worse happened. When we got back to the car we decided to ask for a refund since we didn't finish our game and our night was ruined by the lack of responsibility of the staff and management of this park. When we returned home we contacted the owner of the park and he had already known about the situation and said to my fiance that he was trying to do us a favour and would not return our money. This has nothing to do with the money it's the principle!

Save yourself a headache and the $20. Skip this place and keep driving through!

We put attention parents because if they can't even keep an eye on 2 dogs for half an hour, how do you think they would be able to find your child if they went missing in the park or wandered out onto the highway?! This place gets very busy on the weekeds...
