I know this hotel is a bit out of the way for a first time visitor of Victoria, but if you want something cheap and don't want to sacrifice quality, then consider this place! It is right by a bus stop that goes directly downtown, and there is a liquor store and restaurant (really good) available as well.

The rooms are large, the sheets & pillows are comfy, TV with lots of channels, free wifi, coffee & tea maker, and there's a public laundry room. The pool area is awesome, lots of lounge chairs, a bbq in case you wanted to cook and a firepit for keeping warm.

If there is any problem with your room, just tell the front desk and they will upgrade your room free of charge! Excellent service at this place and really friendly staff :)

GREAT VALUE!!! I would stay here again :)

We stayed there for 1 night and were shocked to see that the sheets had not been changed.  Mascara stains on pillows, hairs in bed, etc.  I wouldn't even write this review had they contacted us about this oversight, but they never responded to our comments which we handed in at the front desk.
We got in too late to have the bed made up so just slept on tops of same in our clothes.  Not the best experience.
Other than that, everything was fine.

Good enough: Quiet sleeps, clean environment, low costs, easy access to HWYs.

Was looking for a low cost, no frill place to sleep for a recent 3 night stay and found it at Ramada. Nothing impressive but not disappointing either. The clean lobby and courteous staff gave off a good vibe. The room was clean, well made. The bathroom felt comfortably clean. I appreciate the labels inviting me to be green and reuse the towels rather than having them washed between evenings. I'm happy to support businesses that try to be green.

We slept without problems on a comfortable, stiff-ish, well-made bed.
The location was convenient as our trip wasn't downtown-centred. I appreciate that because actually getting downtown was at times a slow crawl through Douglas St. traffic. Easy access to HWY 1 and Safeway at Tillcum Mall, while at the same time within an easy 45-min walk to downtown. Even though there is a liquor store right next door (which I was quite discouraged by initially), there wasn't any noise or disturbances to speak of.

The on-site restaurant had an appealing menu but there never seemed to be a person there so we decided to take a pass. A continental breakfast of any sort would have been much welcomed.

Overall though, for the low cost/night, I was quite content with the services and would use again in the future.

The best thing I can say about the Victoria Ramada is that it is a good value. Finding a hotel room at a reasonable price is quite difficult. However, I got a good deal at the Ramada on Priceline. The location is outside of the downtown area, though not very far away. It is about a 40 minute walk away from the Inner Harbour. Walkable, but in the middle of what appeared to a residential condo strip of town.

The exterior of the hotel is unassuming. If you have a car, they offer free parking here. If not, there is a bus stop right outside the property which can take you downtown. There is also a bar and liquor shop on the premises which is nice. The interior is a little nicer, but still a bit dated.

It is a small hotel, which is apparently shortstaffed. They have a placard when the person at the front desk is tending to business elsewhere. Which was the case when I got there. About a 5 minute wait before I could get checked in. Fortunate someone was there when I checked out.

The room is reasonably large. There is even a small loveseat and table and chairs to lounge. Bed was large though it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. The toiletries made by San Francisco Soap Company are nice if you like sweet smells. Though the cleanliness of the room was not the best. The coffee pot reeked of smell, which made my Earl Grey tea unpleasant to drink. And the wi-fi was spotty.

In terms of what you get, the Ramada is a good value. Though the stay was imperfect. The Ramada gets 2.5 stars, though I am rating it up because you could certainly do worse and pay more for lodging in Victoria.
