The Good-
* It was raining so having this restaurant attached to the Sheraton on the Falls, it was a great option as we didn't have to go outside and get drenched while looking for a bite to eat.
*The decor (fake thunder storms, apes dancing around, shooting stars on the ceiling)
*The food is okay. Considering it is a theme restaurant and basically a chain, the food wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely palatable.
The Bad-
*The cost. I honestly don't believe okay food should cost a lot. But then again, this is a theme restaurant and you're paying for the "atmosphere" and since it's located in a high touristy traffic area, I guess they can generate revenue that way.

Also don't have much good to say about this place. Went with the kids 2 & 3 for a short weekend getaway down to Niagara. After visiting some attractions everyone was starving and we thought the kids would enjoy the jungle themed restaurant.
The place was pretty empty but then again it was late November, we got seated right by the aquarium which was nice and occupied the kids for about 10min. Our server seemed at first nice but after we submitted our order she couldn't care less. We ordered one dish for both the kids to share and I ordered some tree top burger and my wife a veggie burger. All the food was pretty decent I couldn't complain but surely overpriced which was expected given the location of the restaurant.
But what ticked me off is our server, after she brought us our food I tried to ask her for a second plate for the kids but she didn't even make eye contact while serving food and ran away before I could get a word out. Then I stood like an idiot by the kitchen waiting for someone to come out, sure enough I got our server first and asked her for a plate. 5min later she arrived with the plate but literally "threw" it on the table as she was passing by!! That pissed me off but I thought ok maybe it just slipped. But after we were done she did the same thing with the bill, she just whizzed by and as she was passing she threw the bill on the table. We wanted to get out of there as fast as possible because the kids were starting to get restless. I had my plastic ready in hand but she totally disregarded me. I couldn't bother with her so I just got up packed up the family and went to pay at the front bar. As we were leaving I could her some locomotion around our table, I think she thought we just took off but I couldn't care less.
NEVER AGAIN!!!! -

I should have read other peoples reviews here before I sunk $80 in this horrible place. The "interesting" decor was hardly worth the insulting food that was given to us in really unjustified prices.
I ordered a pasta with a pesto, that was the only thing that was really hard to mess up but $21, really? for a plate of pasta? common... My husband ordered the fish and chips which were so over fried and greasy that it was difficult to overcome or digest. The final insult were the french fries, I can't even describe how wrong those were, old, re-fried, I don't even want to know, but just really really bad. After we complained they brought us others, but those were only slightly better.
We thought the kids would love it, but I guess 4 and 2 is too young because they were scared of the decor. The service was especially useless, I guess they don't count on too much returning clientele, we asked to sit somewhere "cool" like close to the fish tank, but they totally sat us in the back of the Restaurant with a bunch of teen age groups, in other words, they just didn't care. The children menu, completely overpriced and quantities were insane, if we knew, we would have ordered one plate for both of them, the waitress could have of course bothered to tell us, but she didn't!
It was just an all around terrible experience and while I would gladly return to Niagara falls because it is a wonderful location to bring my kids and just a magnificent wonder of nature, I will never set foot in that place again. -

In a word... Horrible. Been to the one in Toronto and it was bad. This was worse. Crap food and extreme gouging. Ordered bowl of clam chowder, coke, kids hot dogs and kids milk and my wife had a salad and a water. The bill was just over $30.00! We went since the one in Toronto has chimichangas that are Okay. This location had a diffent menu and as per other reviewer...we also were told this location is independent.
The location in Toronto at least was more lively and had better atmosphere. This location is absolute crap. Niagara Falls is a total tourist trap and this is the worst-of-the-worst. Will not EVER go back. -

Went here about two summers ago with a group of friends.. had to wait about 30 minutes in line.. the line was HUGE. took forever. the food was decent, but it was not worth the wait.
the reason why people enjoy this restaurant is because of the atmosphere. i guess im a bit biased because a mall near where I live used to have one of these restaurants inside so I had seen all the 'bells and whistles' of the restaurant.
atmosphere is nice for first timers. food is pretty decent. -

Whenever we travel we hit a Rainforest Cafe with the kids. It's always their favorite restaurant. The atmosphere at this one was typical of the Rainforest. The staff was extremely nice. The prices, however, were higher than at the other locations we have been to and the selection was extremely limited. For example, they had just four options under "seafood." We will not be returning to this location.

Stopped in late for dinner. Sat at the bar. Fun restaurant with great decor, especially for kids. Food was good. Typical menu items that you would find in a national casual dine chain. A little pricey, but portions were large. Kids menu portions are very big.
Wait staff was extremely friendly. -

We went here after walking around and realizing that we werent going to find food under 20 bucks a plate. We got seated immediatly only before we opted for bar seats. I love sitting on the cute animal butt chairs. The bartender, Kyle, was very attentive and funny. He got the frog to come over and take a picture with us. Food was pretty good.

Terrible food in a mildly interesting atmosphere. $60 bought an alcoholic drink, two iced teas, very disappointing plain-jane pasta, and a chicken dish with cold chicken breasts.
The overrated atmosphere does not make up for the premium pricing or lousy food in any way. You can buy this crappy food from a grocery store freezer (just remember to remove the chicken before microwaving).
There are only 2 of these restaurants in Canada, and that's 2 too many. -

Why to I get suckered into this every 5 years?
The most $$$$ kids menu $8 + $3 drink + $3 desert = $14
Salads & Sanwhiches are $15 for lunch
Steak is almost $30
Entrees around $25
TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!
Was empty for lunch - had about 4 tables being used out of 100. (there was the clue, Linda)
$65 for lunch - 2 adults, 2 children, no drinks?!?! (Food was worth about $5 per plate. ) -

Having not been to Rainforest Cafe in a number of years I (incorrectly) remembered decent food and reasonable prices. I'm writing this review to remind myself (and hopefully others) from making the same mistake again...
My wife and I stepped in thinking we would have a fun, quick bite for lunch before heading back to Buffalo to catch our flight. We should have just eaten at the airport (or even the KFC in the lobby). I ordered the chicken wings appetizer and my wife ordered a clam chowder soup and caesar salad. We drank tap water. After tax and tip it cost us almost $40 for this extremely basic and most unsatisfying lunch!
As for specifics, the chicken wings were soggy (not crispy) and the marinade was unappealing. Having eaten delicious chicken wings in Buffalo the day before (at the Anchor Bar), I was very disappointed. I didn't taste my wife's clam chowder, but she said it was okay. I did eat some of her caesar salad and noted that the dressing was not creamy and the croutons were hard and obviously straight out-of-the box (demonstrating an inattention to detail and disregard for food quality and taste by restaurant management).
Apparently, the idea here is to distract the customers with special effects (thunderstorms, animated snakes, gorillas and elephants and plastic monkeys hanging from the ceiling) so that they will neither notice that (1) the prices are obscene and (2) the food quality/taste is not up to par. If you're going to serve food to the public and charge them a lot for it, at least try to make it taste somewhat good...
I realize it's a tourist area, but the prices don't make sense for the quality/level of food on the menu. Sandwiches start at $15 for a hamburger and just go on up from there. The food we did eat was certainly memorable (I had to get a coffee from the nearby Starbuck's to get the memory out of my mouth), costing us an additional $10...
The staff, however, were quite nice and service was excellent. Too bad they have to serve overpriced food which tastes terrible. Also, I can see how the animatronics and ambiance would appeal to children. Maybe good for kids so long as you have done pretty well at the adjoining casino and don't mind subpar food...
In sum, this is not a legitimate restaurant. It is just a zoo for animal robots. -

This location frustrated me a bit.
The food had the traditional Niagara Falls tourist gouging prices on it, which was no big surprise but...
We had signed up for the membership club previously which provides discounts and specials when dining at this chain.
BUT NO...not at this location, they do not honor the membership club discounts, in fact they said they were Independent of the chain...I don't get that!
The food was ok, the service decent, the location was good, but everything else drove this right down for me.
We should have gone elsewhere, but I guess we live and learn. -

We were out too late and desperate for a restaurant. Rainforest was the easiest one for us to get to. Unluckily for us, we came just before closing time. They failed to tell us that the bar has closed already. So we sat down to rest our tired feet and had failed hopes getting a pint. Service was okay. Our waiter was nice but messed a few things up. Food was okay...I'll pass if given the opportunity to go to another Rainforest.
Many of us ordered the Fish & Chips, were were okay, but not worth the price tag...considering they probably came from a box... -

This place is for kids. If you don't know that, you are a little on the dumb side. Honestly, if you can avoid the overpriced food, just take your kids to the gift shop and let them pick out a toy. This restaurant is definitely smaller than the RF Cafes in the states. The store is very limited. My kids still liked it and if you like to see kids in amazement and fear at the same time, let them check it out. You are paying for mostly entertainment. The food is overpriced, but welcome to the world of themed restaurants.
