Review from Brian L.
Driving through the bridge, not so eventful. I wish I walked. Would've been cool. I need to make the time to walk it.
You, reader! Make the time to walk it! -

I can't say very much about the structure itself--I didn't spent much time looking at the bridge, although it's got a pretty impressive span--but the view from it is really beautiful. If you have the time, I suggest walking across this bridge rather than driving it. Also, you should go right up above the American falls before crossing this bridge so that you can get both near and far views.
I'm normally not a big fan of heights, but I didn't mind looking straight down from here. It's actually not as high as it looks when you're not on the bridge itself. You get a wonderful view of the falls and the Maids of the Mist. You can also see the beginnings of the whirlpools that form farther downstream. (Sadly, I didn't have enough time to cross the Whirlpool Bridge.)
The international border is marked clearly on the footpath, so you can take your picture with a foot in each country. Going through security on the Canadian side was surprisingly annoying. The border guard didn't hassle me exactly; but the friend I was with, who grew up on nearby Grand Island and had crossed on foot dozens of times, said she had never been stopped on the Canadian side before.
All in all, it's really beautiful and worth the walk. -

I decided to give my car a break on day two of my stay in the Niagara Falls Area. I also want to visit Canada. Thankfully, the Rainbow Bridge also provides a pedestrian walkway across the bridge.
When approaching the bridge from the USA, you approach a steel turn style and a sign that says once you walk through the turn style you have left the USA! :=O
The walk over the bridge is awesome, scenic, breathtaking, and provides lots of people watching. Best of all you get a good view of the American Falls and the Canadian Falls.
There is no toll to pay when crossing into Canada, however you have to pay 50 cents when you cross into the USA. The coin machine collects the toll and accepts both Canadian and American coins.
As for the border agents on both ends.... well lets just say they're doing their jobs. I had my passport in hand so getting in and out wasn't a problem, though the wait in line may take lots of time. Going into Canada were four girls and two guys visiting from Ireland. Returning to America there was a family of three from God knows where.
The border agent in Canada asked me what is my business for going to Canada. I wanted to tell him that I heard the Tim Horton's Coffee was better on the Canadian side. But I didn't. Why piss him off more?
Overall no complaints. Just have your paperwork and passports ready and all will go well.Listed in: Niagara Falls, USA and Canada

Rainbow Bridge is normally the the best move into and out of our "pals" next door.
Generally quicker and much less crap than I have seen on the Peace Bridge. Plus You get a awesome view of the Niagara heading to the falls..I included a pick..its really a fun crossing with all that view, leading directly into the retail district of Niagara Falls Canada.
Unless you must get to the Canadian Ballet..choose this one.
You still get surly agents ..plus..a really aging bridge.( -1 star..don't cry to me!)

Free pedestrian walkway over to Canada, for a killer view of the falls, parklawns full of Christmas lights, and some decent restaurants: 5 stars.
Pedestrian walkway back to US, with $0.50 per person entry fee and ill mannered customs/immigration agents who must have gotten surly-pills in their Christmas stockings: 3 stars at best. -

The Rainbow bridge is gorgeous and you can take stunning photos from the Maid of the Mists Boats. Also when it comes time to return to the U.S. the Rainbow bridge is much faster to cross than the Peace Bridge with much shorter lines plus the added bonus of one last view of Niagara Falls.

To enter into canada you have to walk on this bridge, and go through customs coming into the us and into canada so both ways. Be warned when going back to the USA there is a 50 cent toll fee for pedestrians!

I'm thankful to say I had no problems passing either way across the Rainbow Bridge. Walking across the bridge is a convenient way to pass between the Canadian and American sides of the falls. After spending a couple days on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, it was nice to spend an afternoon back in America and get a different view. I also like to think of the bridge as a unique symbol of the United States' and Canada's friendship. It offers a nice view of the falls. Plus, it's fun to straddle the border in the middle and say you're in two countries at once.

We parked our car for $10 at the maid of mist parking lot and walked over to bridge to Canada. I think it is better then driving into Canada and having to deal with the traffic. Just remember you have to pay 50 cents o your way back. There is also a lot more to do on the Canada side verse the New York Side. Worth the trip over

Usually the quickest way to cross into Canada or US (Peace Bridge or Queenston are usually busy with regular border crossers and have truck lanes). Does have a view of the Falls, best seen if you walk the bridge, a concrete barrier makes it kind of hard to see the Falls while driving across. Border agents are a hit and miss, some are nice some are miserable but you get that no matter which bridge you cross or which country you're entering.
