Review from Rhonda W.
I don't know why they don't just come out and call it Rabbits either, maybe they're trying to give a subtle message that it's a tiny place, not even enough room on their door to spell out the word Rabbit.
An array of sandwhiches and salads and big honkin cookies for after (or before if you roll like that). I had the Hot Turk because I'll always order anything that has the combination of turkey and cranberry sauce. Each bite = had every necessary ingredient in it, dijon mustard, bacon (hard to mess that up), fresh crusty delicious bread and of course hotness and turk-iness hence the Hot Turk. This sandwhich washed down nicely with an iced cup of Joe and I had to get a chunky chocolate chip cookie to go.
I was amused by the skateboards on the wall and the garage facade (block gold numbers and house side paneling to complete the yard sale image) inside this little cozy hole in the wall. For what this place offered; tasty food, fun ambiance and great coffee, it was more than reasonably priced and I hope I remember to come here again when I'm in the hood. -
Review from Taylor B.
First of all, this place is called RBBTS. Yeah, it looks like "Rabbits," but why don't we use the real name?
Walking into RBBTS (!!), an overwhelming stench of fried food welcomed my friend and me. Unfortunately on a busy, time-constrained Saturday afternoon, we had limited options in the area and so decided to stay. Browsing the menu, we didn't find anything fried, so the nauseating aroma of fat remains a mystery.
Throughout our time here, we kept checking the ceiling convinced we had found ourselves on an episode of candid camera. The awful service quickly became nothing short of comical and actually became quite entertaining. I don't know what was going on in our server's life, but clearly the only way to overcome it was to spend her entire day texting and ignoring us ... while standing an arm's length away. When my friend asked for green or English breakfast tea, said server informed us that she didn't know if they had tea. I pointed out that there were about 20 boxes behind her. I won't even discuss the inordinate amount of time it took to receive the tea. Last time I checked, the steeping process doesn't take 35 minutes.
If you decide to eat here, pray that you get seated next to someone cool (and slender), as the five tables in the whole place are on top of each other.
Special Note: aforementioned server was not changing her outfit every time she went back into the kitchen but ... wait for it! wait for it! ... she has an identical twin! That fact alone is worth an extra star! -

This place is tiny. Really tiny. So if you want elbow room and a big menu don't come here. Its all hole in the wall vibe - dished up hipster stye. The kitchen is literally open and you walk through it to go to the toilet. Weird but quite fun.
The food was fresh, tasty and way bigger than we were expecting. It's also quite affordable in an area with some overpriced eating joints. -

I really don't care about your friend that shows up to hang out with you at work. I don't care about the expensive dinner he had with his brother. I don't care about some hot girl he met at a party and what her text messages mean. I don't care about your haircut or your birthday.
I DO CARE THAT you check on us. I DO CARE THAT you bring me more coffee. I DO CARE THAT I shouldn't have to get up to ask for the check.
Seriously, we're not tourists. We live in the neighborhood.
Good service or out of business. (written in cool Thrasher logo font)
PS: Too bad the food was good but I'm not going back. -

Good for brunch and breakfast!
Small cafe in the South Village with a strong Skater theme. =) The skateboards on the wall and the lettering of the logo reminded my husband of those days long ago when his skateboard was his most prized posession.
Aside for the decor, the food was pretty good. We shared the fresh fruit pancakes and an egg, bacon sandwich. The salty and sweet combination worked out well- I love sharing meals! -

The food was fine but the reason I won't be returning to Rabbits is because of the guy who's the owner/manager/whoever. One of his employees I guess messed something up with a delivery and the he just went APESHIT, slamming stuff around, f-words flying left and right, snapping at the other employee who had nothing to do with it, and storming out. This place is tiny and I was the only customer in there so it was INCREDIBLY weird and unprofessional. I was just looking to have a quiet lunch on my break and read, and I'm having to listen to this man literally throw a tantrum like a two year old. After he left, the guy that I guess messed whatever it was up turned up and the other employee was telling him pretty much to not even look at the manager when he came back, that's how mad he was, etc. I got the hell outta there at that point- I was done feeling uncomfortable!

THIS IS THE SPOT. AMAZING FOOD. GOOD TUNES. AND A NICE WAITRESS/CASHIER.
The THRASHER font originally caught my eye along with the skateboards inside, but now I have been there three times in 2 weeks. I am going to try everything on the menu. BURGER is out of this world, and if you like Spice the JERKED CHICKEN sandwich is dialed up to perfection. God I love this place. GO HERE FOR LUNCH or Order for delivery on seamless.
After 1 sit down visit and 2 delivery orders these guys are batting a hundred. -

Ordered 3 entrees for delivery around 8pm. Expected it to arrive within 30 min or so. An hour rolls around, and I call to check on it.. and they said they haven't even started on the order yet?!? I asked what time they close, and the answer I got was "it depends."
Seriously? Ridiculous. Never again. -

Now this is what I want, expect and love about little independent cafes!
So, I've been there twice this week.
Firstly, the Aussie dudes working were very friendly ... but not just your hey there's another friendly Aussie friendly ... they were nice guys and genuinely in a good mood. The half Asian gal who served me the second time I went was clearly hot as hell (no AC in there) ... pun intended ... but not a happy camper. Perhaps it was my date who was obviously 14 years younger? Dunno. Maybe some gals have attitude for that kind of thing? Feel free to shed some light.
The coffe is strong. All you need to know.
The sandwich I had was honey ham with green apples on a cranberry pecan bread - WTF?! That was great!! -
Review from Adam R.
Yelp is often right on. But sometimes I don't know how a place gets a ranking so high. Rabbits is in the latter.
The best thing about this place was the awning. Seriously. I liked the font, and it seemed to do a good job at keeping sunlight out. Everything else was downhill.
Let's start with the basics. The place is basically a sandwich shop. There's a dude behind the counter that should take your order, and either give it to the kitchen or make it himself. It should not pretend to be a "sit down" restaurant, which is what it does. The guy behind the counter has too much to do to be attentive to the people sitting and eating.
The seating is also fairly cramped. On the side wall, there are three tables, with no gap between any of them. This makes it incredibly difficult to get in and out, and often requires asking people to move. Poor design, leads to a bad experience.
Then, on to the food. I got the salad, which was over priced for what it was, and had crappy tomatoes. It's only later in life that I've begun to enjoy tomatoes, and it's ones like these (pinkish, and slimy) that made me hate them in the first place.
My friend got a sandwich, which she liked, but also with sweet potato fries. They were probably fried in oil that was not at a high enough temperature, and thus came out really greasy and limp.
There probably are things on the menu that are decent, but I'd steer clear if you're just trying it out. -

I love the coffee here, that's what drew me in at first. I live around the corner and I stopped in for a quick coffee once in a while. Then I got to know the owner and Jackie the waitress, and I come back now because they're just awesome. Super friendly and always accommodating, they got me try the food and I have to say it's really worth it. Great food, casual atmosphere and friendly staff, great combination. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal.

I will never order from here again. Every time I attempt to order from here I receive a phone call shortly after only to be notified that they don't have something I ordered. This is not the sole reason for my rating. After reconciling the order I received an angry phone call from the delivery guy upset that the delivery information wasn't accurate enough. I called the cafe only to be blamed by the "manager" for failing to fill out the information properly, which is odd considering I've had no trouble with any of the other dozen restaurants I order from through Seamless. The manager claimed to have called me four times and became extremely defensive when I disagreed and eventually hung up on me. This place is inefficient at doing simple tasks ( Ex. delivering food, having food to deliver, having competent people to deliver said food).

Nice, cozy, small place offering comfort sandwiches with a twist. My friend and I had: the tuna melt, which was very tasty and a nice portion, and the jerk chicken, which was spiced pulled chicken and cabbage. I liked the tuna melt, my friend thought the jerk chicken was just okay. I thought she should have ordered jerk from a true Jamaican, no? i wouldn't order the Bahn Mi here either. The sweet potato fries are crispy and taste terrific.
This place is actually called Rbbts and not Rabbits Cafe, after a gang from Streets of New York. We met one of the hard working owners, a sweet, hard working fellow who got laid off his retail job and decided to pursue a career he went to school for.
Rbbts had been open 10 mos. It has few small kinks but makes up for it in fervor. May it have much success. -

We ordered a large delivery on a Sunday and were fore-warned it would take awhile. Fine. Noone took a phone number or name from us. We called to check on status of order because we have to call up the elevator to let the delivery guy in. The manager was EXTREMELY RUDE for no reason. He couldn't give us an estimated time to expect the food, and instead suggested we check our crystal ball, and then hung up. Wow.

3.5 out of 4.
This place is mad weird. After the first time I went in (just for coffee), I was all set to ignore them completely in favor of Local next door. The barista was rude, the place was dark and smelled off, and I saw no reason to come back. Then, I realized that they were actually a restaurant, not just a coffee shop, and I tried their egg sandwich. And it was awesome. Unfortunately it is so good that I have not yet tried anything else on their menu, and I don't know when that will happen. It's still a little weird to actually sit down to eat in (it is, as previously mentioned, really dark, and usually the only other occupant is the owner who sits and grumbles at his laptop) but their garage door is cool and they apparently deliver. -

I LOVE this place. I live about 4 doors down and probably eat here once a week. The tuna melt is so ridiculously good - melted cheddar, fresh tuna, tomato, egg on delicious whole wheat bread. The owner buys locally and puts lots of love into each dish.
If you don't like tuna melts, you will like this tuna melt. Also, I really like the black and white bean burgers and the grilled corn (four choices). Also, the iced coffee is very nice.
Try and you'll keep coming back! i also really enjoy the fake garage image on the wall - very cute, neighborhood place. -

I shouldn't be reviewing this as I only had pancakes and french toast at 7 pm, perhaps not enough meal to evaluate Rabbit but since all of you review at any rate...
Anywho, the taste was on point and the portion just adequate, not too filling as in other places such as...diners. And we saw how the cook beat the eggs and all. Homey!
Per the owner and/or cook, a nice woman, this place is quieter after dawn.
The quaint surprise: the second cook/owner delivered an order...by skateboard. Only in NY : ) -

I went there again this past Sunday. I hadn't gone during the winter; the place is small with no protection from the front door when it opens and all the cold air comes rushing in. I had a great yogurt with fresh fruit, honey and granola. I wasn't expecting much since - you know - what can you do with yogurt, fruit, and granola, right? Well, "It's the ingredients, stupid" I told myself. I also had a breakfast sandwich on a wonderful brioche. I'm looking forward to going there for lunch or dinner.
Oh, there's an espresso machine now!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Rabbits is a very cute, small, homegrown restaurant on an adorable block on Sullivan St. It has a lovely warm atmosphere inside and is perfect for a talkative lunch with a friend or two.
The owner works in the store so the service is obviously fantastic and personable - you really get the impression they care about your experience. Warm people who are willing to chat or to leave you to it.
The food is delicious - I've had the salads, sandwiches and some of the side veggies. All taste home-cooked and incredibly fresh.
Though I can't say anything bad about this place at all, it didn't bowl me over in terms of my overall impression. Good coffee though. -

I'm a big fan of Rabbits' Cafe. Great atmosphere and delicious food. The sandwich and salad-oriented menu is eclectic and imaginative, without being pretentious.
Not to mention, Tom and crew are friendly and professional.
Enjoy!

I love wandering in to a new neighborhood addition and it turns out to be a great experience. My scrambled egg, ham, arugula and Parmesan breakfast sandwich was the perfect treat to start my Sunday. The menu is interesting and intriguing in the kind of way that beckons you to come back for more. The service and ambiance are both on point. I would love to be known as a regular here. (and luckily it's close enough to my apartment that I may be able to)
Rbbts is a welcome new comer to Sullivan street. -

We had a nice, comfortable, relaxed light breakfast/brunch at rbbt on Sullivan Street a month ago (I couldn't find the Yelp entry to review it until now).
The coffee was great, as was the service. While the place is small, that winds up being a benefit as the owner, customers and staff are interactive and friendly (if engaged - they are not overbearing). The owner is a small businessman making his way, and trying really hard (and succeeding).
We had great conversation, lots of smiles, and generally felt at home.
Give it a try! -

cool people+good fresh food+ reasonable prices= 5 stars
Ive had the burger and it was excellent. they get fresh ground meat from Pinos butcher up the street which is awesome. 3 kinds of corn on the cob (spicy coconut, mexican, peanut). homemade chips.
they also have salads and other healthy stuff. Much nicer and more reasonable and better than Local down the street.
I live in the 'hood so ill be a regular here. -

I don't understand the 5 stars. There were 4-5 breakfast choices, so we chose the two savory options, (bacon egg and cheese sandwich and ham, egg and cheese sandwich with arugula) which came out burnt on hamburger buns. Maybe their dinner is a lot better, but don't order their breakfast, unless you like the taste of carbon. To be fair, the orange punch milkshake was delicious.
Not a place for more than 2 guests. -

The owner and main-stay-presence there is an asshole! The food is sub-par, with cheap ingredients (selected to pass as gourmet) and cooked without love and care! Of course, it's way overpriced too! I don't know how this place is still in business (did someone say "front?")! This place does not even do the evolution of opposable thumbs justice: but, with that said, two thumbs way down!

Delicious! Great staff and great fresh food.
Two things:
1) I ordered the veggie black bean burger and asked if there was cilantro and was told no by the waitress - there indeed was cilantro. So beware!
2) The goat cheese fritter salad was dank! Just wish there was more fritters on it!
Could use more vegitarian selections, but overall the experience is always top notch at this neighborhood fav. -

I have to review again and give 5 stars instead of 4. I so often find myself at work in midtown wondering if there is any way I can get my hands on the Asian salad topped with salmon. I sit there thinking of people I could potentially coerce into bringing it uptown for me. I had a great BLT today with some hand cut fries that really hit the spot. The owner and counter staff are so accommodating, this place is a real neighborhood gem.

Love this place! I stopped in here this past weekend after walking by and seeing the sign. I was intrigued by the font since it appeared to be the same font that Thrasher magazine uses for their covers. Anyways, it is very small and quaint and warm feeling. The menu is comfort food and everything looks and sounds delicious. After talking with the owner/chef i went for the tuna melt. The owner was extremely attentive and generally concerned with our experience. He was wearing a grateful dead shirt and seemed like someone you could have a beer and talk music with. The food was out of this world and inexpensive. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a quick bite to eat with some cool tunes and good vibes.

This place gives new meaning to the term "casual dining". The atmosphere is so comfortable, music is always terrific and the service is 100% New York realness with a genuine love for the customer. The food is pretty amazing for the price and everything is market fresh. Things you've GOT to try: jerk chicken, house salad (the one with caramelized walnuts and orange peices, classic cheeseburger with home made potato chips and BEST OF ALL the HOME MADE FRENCH FRIES (hands down te best in New York City). I get my fix here at least twice a week. Hot chicks working there. And the owner us pretty fine as well.

Good stuff, and the price is right. Enjoy the ham and cheese on cranberry bread. And those breakfast sandwiches sound simple, but they sure are tasty!
The jerk chicken sandwich is a little intense, but the different types of corn on the cob are neato.
Good service. The owner is totally hip; you'll see lots of neighborhood ladies come in to swoon. -

I came here with my girlfriend for a nice weekend and happened to notice this on our way to dinner. The place is quaint and decor appealing to the cutesy "hole-in-the-wall" aspect Soho has. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches were phenominal but the service was just ok, a slip-up with an order and a sometimes slow workflow all three times I've beenh ere marring what'd be a perfect review. However, I'd definitely recommend this for a nice and quiet bite to eat.
The price beats out a good amount of the brunch places in Soho, that's for sure.
Manhattan Special Coffee Soda is also a rare gem, so props to this guy.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Disappointing lunch for three.
The interior is adorable, with prints and skateboards hung on the walls. But the food didn't cut it. I ordered a melted swiss cheese sandwich with sprouts and cukes on whole wheat toast, which I found overtoasted and tasteless. Just a dollop of dressing inside would've made a huge difference.
My friend ordered the banh mi sandwich, which he said was just okay. Another person had the goat cheese fritter salad which came with wilted leaves. And our order of sweet potato fries was greasy and limp. I won't be going back. It's a shame because it's so charming. -

I have never been disappointed at Rabbits and love going back to try more. I especially love the egg, ham, cheese, and arugula breakfast sandwich. The yogurt, granola and fruit is also DELICIOUS - every time we order it, the fruit is different because the proprietor, Tom, buys whatever is freshest. Yesterday, the pears positively melted in my mouth. Everything on the menu is fresh, delicious, and lovingly prepared and served.
In addition to the excellent food, the atmosphere at Rabbits is charming, cozy, and inviting. Complete with a tin ceiling and a spotless, creatively decorated interior, it's the kind of place where you order a cup of tea and a few minutes later you hear the kettle whistling. Rabbits is a gem! -

Dropped in for an afternoon snack after a long day of walking around playing tourist. Tom, the owner, was friendly and very accommodating. We split the Jerk Chicken sandwich with Mango chutney, which was spicy and wonderfully complex. The sweet potato fries were great and the space is very cute. Definitely a repeat next time we are in the neighborhood.
