Riverside, CA
My friend treated me out for my first time here (during Happy Hour). We went directly to our seats, no wait time.
We ordered the Viva Las Vegas Roll, Crunchy Calamari Roll, and tuna & yellowtail nigiri. I was surprised with the plentiful amount of flavored imitation crab given on the Viva Las Vegas Roll. You should try eating the decorative chip with the imitation crab together (like nachos and salsa)--it's really good! The Crunchy Calamari had a delicious crisp to it. It's hard to bite through the seaweed if you're trying to bite it in half first though. I attempted to a couple of times and my slices fell apart (but that's probably due to that fact that I have a small mouth). Can't complain about the portions though. As for the nigiri: fresh and very decent slices to match the rice portion.
Service was on spot. I didn't catch her name but we were checked on regularly (and updated when she was serving other customers). She was quick in getting us the condiments we requested (eel sauce, ginger, wasabi) and neatly packed our to-go bag. On the way out, the greeter helped us choose our candy. She took out a full container from behind the counter and gave us one of every color and flavor. The candy looked pretty but they taste OK. They're like... subtle jolly ranchers in mint, butterscotch, etc. -

i've ONLY gone for happy hour.. it's way cheaper then going to all you can eat sushi xD and you won't feel too bad if you can't finish just don't over do it o.O
i really enjoy the viva las vegas and rainbow roll, so far every roll is satisfactory. there isn't too many choices for happy hour but it's enough to give you a yummy sushi fix!
only my opinion, the alcoholic beverages are ok, they can get carried away with the syrup or something, definitely not strong on or off the happy hour menu. feels like juice and no buzz/warmth. i could be wrong. -

The biggest surprise for me here was that the prices were alright. I always had this impression that this place was expensive. The rolls here are different than the other places I have been to so they do add some type of twist. Service here is good but they seem to be under staffed at times. Love the Las Vegas Roll and Rackin' shrimp.

Celebrated Valentines day here, not looking for anything fancy but not fast food either so thought this place would be perfect. Arrived and we were told it was a 30 minute wait, no worries expected it during a holiday. Made our way to the bar had a couple cocktails, bartender was busy but helpful, then we were showed to our table. The only gripe I have is that the table was right next to their automated sliding patio doors, so a cold breeze would hit every now and then so I kept my jacket on. Our server greeted us , very happy and so hot! I'm a chick and I was like wow! Plus she was a sweetheart. Anyhoo ordered more drinks and started with the potstickers appetizers. Then ordered the tunacado, the crispy onion albacore and a special anaheim roll not on the menu. The mixed drinks were good , not very strong as others have described on Yelp. The food I really enjoyed though much pricier then sushi places in Riverside. Oh so fresh and their sauces were really good. The tunacado was amazing and just looks beautiful too. I noticed they were closing and we hadn't received our anaheim roll when I asked our server about it she informed me she forgot to ring it in but they got it out quickly and even comp'ed it for us. I felt bad about the kitchen closing so we passed on dessert. Will be back to try their items on happy hour as everyone recommends. Love that its a modern hip sit down sushi place then what we have in Riverside, very fast paced, stuff your face and get out haha.

Sunnyvale, CA
All I have to say is they have terrible customer service. I was visiting family in Corona when it was suggested we go to RA. They do not accept reservations - and I accept that. Since we were a group of 18, we called ahead of time to ensure there would be room for us. For about an hour (we were driving back from Anaheim), we kept calling them with our status and were assured there would be a table. At no time were we told that we would not be seated.
Once we got there, they said they absolutely could not seat us because they were full. But when I looked into the restaurant, there was a very long table that was not set. When I asked about it, they said that another party made a cash deposit for the table. Weird - they don't take reservation, but will if you make a deposit??!! They were not even apologetic ... just absolutely rude.
Not even sure why they have such an uppity attitude for a place that serves such average food.
We wound up going next door to TAPS. Needless to say, our host was upset and embarrassed by this that she went back to speak with the manager. They then said they could accommodate our group (my guess is that the other large party never showed up) but at that point, we were getting better service, food and atmosphere at TAPS - and much happier to bring our business there. -

We came here for dinner with the hubby's potential coworkers. The ambiance deserves 4 stars. I am accustomed to the Bay Area's sushi and this suburb So Cal sushi did not phase me to give it 4 stars. It is still worth going to while we are in the area. It's definitely worth the money.
Highlights:
Sake Salmon: $9.75 (7 pcs) fresh and good size slices
Dragon Roll: did not fall apart, good tasting sauce -

Corona, CA
so sick of the service here! when they are crowded i understand, but on a wednesday like today with maybe 5 guest in the restaurant and at least 2 waitresses there, there's an evident management problem at this location. Drinks arent getting refilled, tables aren't getting cleaned and waitors are standing in the corner singing along to the music playing inside. Also, the waitor sat down at our table to take our oder. Completely in-appropriate! This was definately my last time there!

Hmmm...where to start. My husband and I finally found a babysitter and wanted to do a date night. We wanted sushi but we wanted to try a new place and had seen Ra Sushi at the nearby shopping center. First impression...really loud and the atmosphere was kind of cliche. I guess it's meant to be a rock 'n' roll sushi restaurant? I think it's a little over-the-top.
The menu was really overwhelming. I get nervous when sushi is overdone. I like to actually taste the seafood in the rolls but it seems that most of what we saw was the super complicated, trendy rolls that have twenty components on one plate. Their prices were also really high. We ordered the same amount of food that we order at our local sushi place but paid more than double what we normally pay.
I've been told that we need to go back for happy hour but considering that we weren't impressed with the food, we will not be going back to Ra Sushi again regardless of how low the prices might be during happy hour. -

Super good sushi, we are in love with the Crunchy Spicey tuna roll. Seems overpriced for the 4 little pieces you get, but well worth it once you are introduced to the flavor. Best piece of sushi i have ever had.....
Also the Sake we tried was amazingly yummy... dont remember what it was called, but good call on the waiters end. Atmosphere was good, there was no wait eventhough it was a Saturday night at 8:30, the service was great.... we will be going again :) -

Corona, CA
Really good happy hour deals and good drinks. If it werent for the happy hour they wouldnt be visited by me because their prices are too high for the quality of food they produce. Their quality is shakey at times... sometimes really hitting it out of the park, and other times the food doesnt pass muster. To me thats a little scary when you deal with such risky foods like ceviche and raw style sushi.
Now when I am saying it doesnt pass muster what I mean is flavor....a piece of salmon nigri shouldnt taste metallic, and I have had that experience. Also, and please dont call me a racist, there is something inherintly wrong with a sushi joint that doesnt have one japanese (or even asian) sushi chef. All I ever see are some white or mexican dudes behind the bar, which doesnt scream authentic. I guess that explains the lack of seasoning on the rice at times.
Their hot foods are good, especially the Spicy sesame chicken wings and the kalbi ribs.
Drinks are ok, and you dont feel jipped with the alcohol content as with other happy hour places.
The dining room is spot on awesome. Absolutely gorgeous and a very nice place to take a date. The open air patio would seem like a problem bringing a breeze into the restaurant but tonight, which was especially cold, didnt seem cold inside at all.
All in all I like this place, for happy hour or lunch. This just isnt a place I would go for that "amazing sushi experience" one would treat themselves to once or twice a year. -

Chino, CA
I like RA because the place has nice atmosphere and good food. The service is hit or miss though. The place is pretty rocking for a Saturday night (especially considering its out in Corona) and it feels like you are on a date night! :)
Is it the BEST Japanese food out there - no - but a good alternative. -

Another upgrade for the Crown. This place has great rolls and a large variety. I also like the Ra in Chino. But what stands out about this place is the service. They are really committed to being friendly and approachable. I will definitely visit again because of this. Atmosphere is great with great music too. Ps. Las Vegas Roll is amazing!

I really like this place, but you have to know its a little pricier than other Sushi restaurants. Everything I've tried here has been good. Nice atmosphere, nice deco, and clean place. Definitely would return.
Sorry I can't remember any dishes to suggest, its been a while...due for another visit. -

If you happen to be out in Tim buck two- this is a pretty good place- - and how we landed here is a long story- I will say the sushi is super fresh, and presented nicely( it's not high end stuff, but not bad) the place is decorated nicely - everyone is really friendly, however service is slow, that would be my only complaint-

Corona, CA
The outside/inside décor and modern music playing will already warn not to expect an authentic Japanese experience, rather a "hip" Asian fusion atmosphere. Didn't bother looking at their nigiri and maki sushi list (I assumed that their authentic classic sushi isn't their forte). The tapas are good, adding a new twist (served w/ sauce or dressing) to regular sashimi. The chips and salsa, which is actually a spicy tuna cucumber mix, was tasty.
I wouldn't come here for my sushi fix. I would come here for those date/bar/hangout occasions (or even when to ask your GF to move in w/ you), perfect for drinks and "food sharing" times. Place is pricier than most, but that's what the ambiance is trying to pull off, an upscale sushi bar. -

This is the place to go in Corona. Sushi is good, not the best but good. The bartender was super cool and took great care of us by recommending some special rolls. I liked the ambiance on a Saturday night, it actually felt pretty upbeat for Corona.
After reading other review I can't wait to go to Happy hour! -

Corona, CA
What is it with the very "meh" meals I've been getting at Japanese-esque places. *thinks hard* Hmmmmm ... must be because they're not au-then-tic jap-an-ese ... DOY!!!!
It was nutty to see Ra so slammin'-busy when I walked, but apparently their half off happy hour menu brings in the crowds. Okay, cheap eats. We were game. We ordered alot of nigiri, the salmon carpaccio, soft shell crab, fried shrimp, veggie tempura, yakitori chicken, and some random roll.
I was sorely disappointed with everything. Too much wasabi in the nigiri. When your sinuses clear and your head tingles after ONE measley bite you KNOW it's too much. The chicken was so dry my husband could barely get one down (and he usually eats everything, esp all protein!). Our server asked us if we wanted to pack any of it up ... but I was thinking: "For what!?!?! A doorstop?" No thank you, ma'am.
Maybe I'm just getting burnt out on sushi. Or very mediocre sushi. I need a Maguro break. On the realzy. -

So Corona has a RA sushi? That is a miracle in itself... if you knew what I grew up with and to what the city has grown to, you'd understand...
The ambience is rockstar/asian fusion..the music is rock & roll... there is still building going on at Dos Lagos...
Nothing beats sitting out on the patio and catching a whiff of cow manure...Chino and Ontario or Norco can't be too far away....
The food was alright.. a few veggie options... and the sake wasn't bad...even had that cedar box thing... the service was little slow..the guy was nice...but not really 'there'...
You know it sucks when a group of 15 high schoolers sit down after you, and get their food before 2 people...and finish dinner 1 hour before you...
Despite that... it's al alright place.. heard you can find cheaper and better sushi in town though.... but for the rock and roll lifestyle.. you pay up here. -

This review is only for their Happy Hour!
I've been to RA a few times during their Happy Hour and that is pretty much the only time I'd ever go to RA. I love their Happy Hour pricing on their drinks and food.
Their rolls are decent. The rice is kind of dry, and the fish isn't all that fresh either. Their Las Vegas roll is one of their best rolls. The Spicy Tuna is pretty good as well. I love their side dishes.
Their happy hour beer/sake specials are well-priced.
Again, don't go here during regular hours! The food is not worth the regular price.
A person can get pretty full and drunk for less than $25 during HH. -

Ok so i just came here again and was helped by Jarrett again. This time it was really good. Jarrett has changed =) he was very nice to me this time. He came to greet me right away. He refilled my drink when I needed it. He gave me little containers with ginger and eel sauce so that I can take to go with my leftovers. It was so good compared to last time that on the check this time I wrote "Awesome service today! =)" Great job Jarrett I

I love this place, I have to give it the credit for getting my Bf and my parents to love sushi. The Happy Hour is the best, we order so much stuff sometimes can't even see the table. Really fun atmosphere, most of the wait staff is really nice and helpful, and the food is really good. I've eaten at other sushi places and always go back to Ra.

Review from Alex S.
This place is all style and little substance. I just don't care for spending $13 + on "special" sushi rolls when I can go to a "mom and pop" place and pay just over half for the same type of roll. What this place offers is a nicely decorated restaurant with a night-club type of environment that serves Sysco-fied food. I doubt were getting the freshest of fish in Corona but I think were not even given decent fish at RA. The remaining food options are heavily sauced dishes such as teriyaki mystery meat and weak appetizers which were probably nuked in a microwave. The service is ok however if more than 10 people are in the place, don't be in a hurry to get your food.
I come here because my wife likes the place, they have comfy chairs, nice outdoor seating, cute food presentations and most RAs are usually adjacent to shopping centers. One good thing going for this place is the happy hour is decent with sushi specials however any other time and you better bring some fitty dollar bills. -

Irvine, CA
The place is a bit small, but cute. As for the food, I've never had Salmon sashimi that was that old..not fresh at all, and same goes for the Yellow Tail..they were also out of Toro which sucked.
Nonetheless, I went there for the first time yesterday night and the service was a bit slow. Although the server was nice, all she did was chit chat with her other co-workers and water took almost 5 minutes.
What I did find interesting was the veggie tempura..it had mushrooms in it..yum!
But seriously..I was expecting much better from this place. Prices aren't too bad..about $10 for an order of sashimi..but not worth it if the sashimi is going to be yuck, so 2 stars it is!
P.S. Shogun (off McKinley on the 91) is a LOT better. -

New York, NY
OK you don't go here for authentic Japanese food. That's clear. Ra doesn't even try to make itself appear to be authentic. You go here for the atmosphere, its got an awesome vibe. Its dark and sexy fun and casual.
They have the BEST happy hour on the planet. Its from 3-7 Monday through Saturday and Sunday is late night hh. It includes 1/2 price sushi (vegas roll, crunchy calamari, spicy tuna, spicy albacore, nigiri, tootsy maki to name a few) and 1/2 price appetizers (favs: cream cheese wontons, pineapple chicken, sesame wings) and great drinks specials. $1 hot sake, $4 cold sake, $4 large asahis, $2 bud light bottles, $3 wells. Its AMAZING.
When i lived in corona Id come here religiously, probably 3 or 4 times a week and drink and eat for a few hours for less than 15 dollars.
The bartenders are really cool too. And their outdoor seating is nice and comfy.
FAVORITES to order here: Vegas roll, crunchy calamari roll, slamon nigiri (although it can have too much wasabi), unagi, @ sesame wings! -

I Love this place. They have a great HAPPY HOUR , I think it's from 3-7 ,Mon- Sat. , this is a great time to go because the sushi is such a great deal at this time. I recommend the Blusing Geisha for a cocktail and strongly recommend The Viva Las Vegas Sushi, it's yummy and a great deal !
You can sit at the table, sushi bar, cocktail bar or in the patio, it has an inviting, hip, sexy feel to the place and there's a variety of music from new to classic 80's (Journey song played last time we were there), which is pretty cool.
The service is great, we sat at the cocktail bar and the bartender was helpful and friendly.
I was there last Sat. for the first time and I'm returning tonight !
I strongly recommend this place. Go Tonight :) -

Corona & Sushi? No, not the beer, the city. Yep, I made it out to Corona to visit my sis who lives in the 909. Yes, I love my sister.
RA Sushi is a chain Japanese restaurant (similar to Mikuni's in Sacramento or Katsuya in LA) inside the Dos Lagos plaza. With its plush outdoor furniture and fully stocked bar, I could definitely see this as a fun happy hour place. Unfortunately we were here on Super Bowl Sunday and the place was more ghost town than fun town. But my mom, sis, and I had a good time anyway.
For a place with such nice decor, their lunch specials were totally affordable! $8 bento boxes? That's practically SGV (san gabriel valley) prices! My mom ordered the Salmon bento, my sis ordered the Chirashi bowl, and I had this shrimp tempura seared tuna roll. My roll was definitely the least impressive and most overpriced of the whole meal. The salmon was actually really well done! I was quite impressed with the presentation, the taste, and the portion. My sister's chirashi was also delicious. They didn't give her that much fish (yellowtail, albacore, tuna), more of a sprinkle than chunks of fish, but the flavor was really good.
This place looks pretty expensive but it really was so much better than I anticipated. I mean, it's not authentic by any means but hey if you are looking for a sushi place in the 909 that has great ambiance, then this is the place! -

Holy sushi heaven! what the heck? Who could have imagined that some of the best sushi in my life could be consumed in Corona, CA? But it was...
After a lovely awesome perfect day at the Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa, my 4 girlfriends and I went to Ra for some dinner. We were shocked at how this place was better than most sushi spots in LA. This stuff was delicious, and creative, and inventive. It was just insanely good.
I highly recommend the Viva Las Vegas roll. It stole the show. I also liked the spicy tuna on crispy rice thing, the nigiri I ordered, and a few other things I can't remember the name of. Order from the RA Specialties portion of the menu, you can't go wrong.
We also had some great cocktails here. I have to say, the Dirty Martini was one of the best I had. Maybe that's why I ordered three of them, consecutively.
I plan to retrun to Glen Ivy soon, and I will no doubt make another visit to Ra when I do. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the food, and the price. -

Get Happy with Happy Hour!! We came here on our way to Temecula, stopped off to do some shopping, but there wasn't much there. It was my sister in law to be's bachelorette weekend, so we wanted to get her drunk. We first went to the Grill or something cause we saw a sign that said Happy Hour, but the drink specials were like 9 bucks.
Anyways, we came here and was happy to see that the Happy Hour was actually good. Mixed drinks for $5, sake for $2, beer for $3. We ordered the Blushing Geisha for the bride to be, I got a Mango Margarita - delicious! My other friend got a White Wine Sangria which was yummy! Had some sake bombs that were "bomb!." We ordered some happy hour rolls that included crispy spicy tuna, the tootsi maki, and some regular spicy tuna. Overall pretty good deal. With the drinks and rolls, our bill was like $50. Not too bad. -

It was good...I think mainly for affordable prices especially happy hour. Food was aight. Kim and I were pretty hungry so some of this review maybe masked by the hunger that had to be fed. This is what we had.
- Spicy Yellowtail
- Glazed Spare Ribs
- Lobster Spring Rolls - not spring more like egg/fried rolls - definitely a belly buster
- Tempura Shrimp
- Crunchy Spicy Tuna Sushi
- Kirin and Sake Sangria
Sounds like a lot huh? It was and we eventually had to tell the sushi chef that we didn't want the salmon sushi. Gosh, talk about your eyes are bigger than your appetite. It was a good way to try their food. The atmosphere was urban, hip hop...felt a little bit like a sushi/club place in vegas (I am not a fan of Vegas). -

We tried garlic citrus yellowtail, spicy lobster roll, spicy scallop handroll, crunch tuna roll, and fried calamari roll... Garlic citrus yellowtail and spicy lobster roll were very good. Actually, the spicy lobster roll was the bomb!!!
We also had sweet shrimp maki with fried shrimp heads. I love fried (tempura) shrimp heads!!! They were crunch and tasty... Yum!
The fried calamari roll had cream cheese inside. The creaminess of cheese and warm and tender texture of calamari were surprisingly good. The crunch spicy tuna roll was peppery thnx to black pepper in the sweet/tangy sauce. It was pretty good.
Yeah, the over-all meal was a lil pricy but was worth it. We ordered beer n hot sake combo with the meal. The alcohol got my face all red =) but I could hide it easily thnx to the low-light, club-like, ambience.
It's not a place to take my parents to, I'll tell you that much. My parents are used to Korean-style sashimi places, not trendy spots like RA. -

2 stars for the food, 3 for their happy hour (1/2 price rolls and cheap sake and beer).
Ambiance is dark but sultry. Sat at the bar, my sushi chefs were...uhhh... american. First problem. They actually made me fill out the stupid paper in order to get some freakin sushi. I guess they didn't like me yelling out my order.
The fish is NOT fresh here. Seaweed salad, sub par. Selection sucks, too fusion-ish for me. If you are looking for authentic fresh fish, do not come here.
