I was given a beautiful Italian leather reversable belt as a gift, but someone thought I was a 52 inch vise 32, Off I went to get it fixed up for me.... It was the first ever visit for me at the Quinpool Shoe Repair Shop. The respectful owner stopped what he was doing on a shoe repair job, asked me my dilemma, spent the necessary time with me, clipping, trimming, punching....
I asked what the damage was for the pocket book....he said no worries get me next time. Now this attitude doesn't pay the bills....but he does have me as a customer for life.
Just sayin' -

I've been in twice lately, the first time I got great advice on cleaning a beige suede handbag. Then I went back because they had so many shades of light brown shoe polish when I couldn't find it anywhere else; the owner even opened the jar to test it for me. Don't know how to polish your metallic colored leather shoes? They do!
Everyone I know who has been to Quinpool Shoe Repair has gotten free services, at first I thought that was just for the ladies but reading the reviews I see it's not true. Finding a place to have your leather things repaired in Halifax is hard (Moneysworth & Best loses things). But Quinpool Shoe Repair knows their stuff, although I took off one star because black dust that covers everything. -

Cobblers!
No, really, he's a cobbler. And a fine one. Fixed up some rather distressed flats before a European tour, and did it in jig time. One pair was in rather poor condition and the fix he did was creative and gave me another yea's wear.
All for under $20. Make me holler.
love this place. -

I am an epic destroyer of shoes. I walk everywhere and I have the force of an elephant when I stamp my little feet around all over town. This guy has fixed every pair of shoes I own, and it has saved me a tonne of money because I can destroy the cheap plastic heel on a pair of new aldo shoes in under 2 weeks. These guys use a quality rubber to fix my lifts, and it takes substantially longer for me to wear through them. I've had them resole my boots, repair leather I never thought could be fixed and fix zippers. They are amazing.

Love this place!
He winterized ("drunkerized") a few pairs of my heels by adding rubber lifts and rubber to the soles and I no longer fall down when drinking!
I forgot it was cash only and he let me take my shoes and come back when I had cash. What else can you ask for! -

Big fan of this shoe repair shop.
The owner/cobbler is excellent at his craft.
Plus, if you are like me and always need your shoes repaired "TODAY! I have an event to go to and desperately need these fixed - I'll pay double!" - they'll do it.. well, so long as the request is reasonable (ladies we all need our lifts replaced once or twice a year no?). -

Not being someone who had shoes that are generally worth getting fixed, I had my first experience here this week after buying a gorgeous pair of vintage shoes that were too tight. Marilyn at Dress In Time referred me here (which is where I bought the shoes) and I popped by on my way home that day. Dropped them off, came back a few days later to try them out and they were still a little snug, so he said he'd stretch them a smidge more for me. Went in today to get them and they are great! He said if I needed to get them stretched a bit further it would be free, which is freaking fantastic considering it only cost me $5 anyways!
Also, the gentleman that was helping me (could have been the owner, not sure) was charming and handsome and really helpful. He even helped me with some oil to break in my new Doc Martins!
I will definitely be going back in the future for all my shoe needs!
Be warned-they only take cash! -

This place is awesome!
The sole on my favourite boots finally kicked the bucket after 7 years. I brought them to Quinpool Shoe repair and they were looking good as new in just a few days, and for a very reasonable price!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone with shoe problems! -
Review from Sue A.
I have a very handsome pair of winter boots which get me through these crazy Hali winters. So I fell into the depths of despair when the pull tab on one of the zippers broke. The zipper had been acting a bit strangely anyway. I will add that in addition to these boots being handsome, they were also expensive as they came from KAS down on Spring Garden. I was becoming semi-hysterical about what seemed to be the certain demise of my Hali. essential winter footwear.
Anticipating a big repair bill or that the zipper was beyond repair, I procrastinated but got it together today to go to Quinpool Shoe Repair.
I had never been in, but the illustration of the cat on the window reassured me.
What a find! That place is the real deal. Stepping inside the tiny shop, you smell the leather and the shoefixing elixirs. The place is a bit of a throwback to another time with posters of the original brat pack and old Vegas hotels on the walls and funky jazz music playing. To me the nostalgia was a sign that these people are still in business after a long time because they clearly know what they're doing. Three other customers came in while I was waiting and they all left happy.
I had to wait all of ten minutes while the very kind cobbler (not sure if that is the correct term and I didn't see any elves, but hey the guy wears an apron and fixes shoes) replaced the pull tab with something just as luxe looking as the original part and cleaned up the zipper so it worked better. The repair was done while I waited and, best of all, for the low, low price of $5.
He did tell me that another customer had experienced an issue with the same pull tab, so if I had any issues just bring it back. You don't get that kind of honesty or guarantee every day of the week in the retail world.
I would definitely bring any other shoes or boots needing fixing here. Another plus is that they cut keys for a reasonable price. You can never have enough spare keys. -

Having read some positive reviews I thought that I would take in my black dress shoes to have their soles replaced. These are a great pair of Italian shoes that have served me well for 15 years of wear. This is the first repair I am having to do to the shoes.
I took the shoes in on May 31 and was advised I could pickup the shoes anytime on June 3. I arrived at 2:15pm on friday and was told that he hadn't started work on them as he had failed to write down whether or not I wanted rubber or leather soles! Now this was entirely untrue as three days previously we had this discussion and he wrote down the choice on the tag in front of me. He then stated that he had left me a voice message 20 minutes ago. This too was untrue and quite extraordinary of him as I had NOT left a telephone number. I was very wary at this point due to having been lied to twice.
He then asked if I could could wait 30 minutes while he did the work. I said yes. While waiting a lady came in to pickup her shoes and was surprised that he hadn't started work on her slingbacks that she dropped off fours days earlier. He gave the her the line of "I just left you a message a few minutes ago because I forgot to write down what you wanted done with them!)) and when she said that she hadn't checked her messages, he then spoke very quickly saying that he had tried at least three times and each time he was unable to get her. This speech came across as very untrue, especially as I had just received the same line from him a few minutes earlier.
The requested 30 minutes wait turned out to be a 1.5 hour wait before my shoes were ready.
This whole experience demonstrated dishonesty and a lack of basic business principles and ethics. It also caused me quite some inconvenience due to the lost 1.5 hours in the middle of the afternoon.
The show repair itself appears adequate, only time will tell how well the work holds up. I was very disappointed with how I was treated. The dishonest way I was treated will ensure I look elsewhere for shoe repairs in the future. -

I have large feet that tend to ravage shoes. This is troublesome because it's hard to find shoes, and when I do find a pair it's hard to keep them. This is why I go to Quinpool Shoe Repair. Most of the time they are able to tag some life onto the end of my poor shoes life cycle.
My daily drivers are a pair of shoes I have had and worn consistently since 2002 and recently the sole (soul) gave out. Seeing as it is could out these days and I don't want frost bite on my toes, I went to Quinpool Shoe Repair looking for a fix. They had a number of short and long term options for me and were also very honest with me (You're going to need a new pair of shoes soon).
This honesty was refreshing and the help they gave me was very appreciated. My shoes are still kicking around thanks to their help and skill. Definitely stop in here, highly recommended. -

This was where I use to take all my shoes and purses to get fixed.
The staff here are great and have been doing a great business here for years.
I would say, they know their stuff and will not overcharge you. -

I found this store through Yelp when I had a pair of shoes that needed a bit of stretching. The guy who works there is very friendly, and the work on my shoes was both fast and cheap. Great place!

This is an EXCELLENT shoe repair shop. Friends and I have brought shoes (and boots and sandals...) here to be fixed with highly satisfactory results every time. They are timely and professional, and make your shoes look great. Recommended!
