Best pub in Old Ottawa South, because of:
1. Excellent veggie burger, and veggie options
2. Generally better food quality than any other nearby pub
3. Cosy atmosphere
4. Great summer patio, tasty beers.
Avoid the others (e.g. patty's, georgetown), stick to Quinn's! -

Small but mighty! Had read some good things, and driven by a number of times. Walked in and was shocked by the extremely small size - not what I was expecting. However, after a moment of getting oriented, spotted a table for two in the corner, and squirmed our way over.
This is the type of smal pub you see in the movies. All that was missing was the cigarette smoke (thanks to our smoking laws).
Food was great. Waitress was great. Atmosphere was great. Seating... not incredibly comfortable, but good enough. Had the wings, will definately go back. They have specials some (all?) nights. Unfortunately I can't find a website to tell me what nights - and based on it being full up on a Monday night around 9p, they probably don't need a website to advertise themselves. Word of mouth is enough. So disregard my review, don't go there. (I want to be able to get a spot when I go there!)
Stay away if you have an aversion to being close to strangers. You are going to be practically sitting on them. (If you drink enough you may actually sit on them - who knows?!)
Would I recommend: Yes.
Would I returne: Yes. -

Quinn's is a slightly upscale bistro disguised as a low-key pub. The food is always better than you expect it should be. The menu is fun to read. The food is creative, well-prepared and tasty. It really is a hole-in the wall, however -- probably not the place for first-dates, visiting in-laws or fussy friends.
The highlight of a recent visit was a homemade lamb stew on mixed champ (potatoes, scallions, etc.) with local Beau's beer on tap.
Just for the heck of it, the kitchen sent out some tiny perfect blueberry shortcakes as a complimentary dessert for our party of four.
Seating is tight and the winter winds blow from the front door but Quinn's really is as good as it gets for Ottawa pub food. The tiny patio deck out back is nice in the summer. -

Great small pub. I had suicide chicken wings which were actually suicide. You don't usually get that. Loved them.
Service is friendly. -

Quinn's is AWESOME! I know Ottawa has more pubs per capita than you can shake a stick at, but Quinn's manages to stand head and shoulders above most of them. First, it is a tiny little, cozy place. You feel like you are at your best friend's place (although the seats are kinda low and you feel like a kid because the tables almost reach your chin). They serve all the usual pub grub and offer all the normal pub beers (Guinness, Stella, Keith's, et. al.). But, if you feel really brave, you can have your beer supersized and served to you in a mason jar (for only $15) - just like that bar in the Toby Keith song. The drink prices are a deal. My friend and I had four whiskeys and three glasses of wine and the bill came to only $38....Canadian! The crowd is mixed in age - so everyone should feel comfortable there. It can get crowded, so get there early. Especially during the week nights. We went on a Monday and it was packed solid.
