Quick Lube Plus (QLB) redefines the definition of "SERVICE".
For the longest time i have been a Dealer serviced only type of person.
I drive a Jaguar and i try to use only premium products as repair cost on this vehicle could get astronomically high. I was browsing around and i saw this joint that used Motul, a highly respected brand in Europe. At first i was hesitant because the car tool Mobil 1 from the start.
My first time at QLB i spoke with a technician named Darren and he gave me service and information above and beyond any dealership (Jaguar Calgary, LoneStar Mercedes, Royal Oak Audi, and Royal Oak Nissan) had ever given me. I was impressed with the product knowledge Darren had. With his recommendation, i did try motul.
3 months after my first oil change with QLB, I returned to and was helped by their manager Bruce and technician Adam. The expectation set by Darren from my last visit was very commendable but, to my surprise, Adam and Bruce surprised me, yet again, with their outstanding customer-centric approach.
My experience with QLB makes me think twice about where i go for my auto maintenance despite what others' perspectives are of fast lube joints like Mr. Lube, Minit Lube, and etc. QLB, without question, has one of the city's laudable customer-centric service, and top notch products. I already do recommend QLB to all my friends and family. -

I have waited a while to update my review after a second visit to Quick Lube Plus. A bit of history first..... as you can see I had already written a review that wasnt great, but wasnt bad either.
About 3 months after i wrote this, my phone rang and it was the owner of QLP. He told me that he had read my review online - had a staff meeting about my experiences and then he very kindly offered to give me a gift certificate for a full oil change free of charge. Now bear in mind, I certainly didnt expect it- and I also didnt give a terrible review - just an honest account of what my experience was. The owner ( Mitch) had expressed how valuable it was to have an independent review a secret shopper almost, that could give a first hand account of his business. I was very impressed that the owner of a business would take the time to read a review and look at it as an opportunity to improve and make his business better. I was going to give another review pending my next oil change, but havent had one yet, I have however, been in today for something else.
So today I was in to get a brake light changed on my VW Beetle. Prior to going in, I was thinking Oh god, I will have to go to the dealership and its going to cost me a fortune. I looked online and saw that they change bulbs here so I popped in. I was looked after by Justin and Mike ( ?) and they were so cool. Really helpful, really nice and even though it was a pain getting the bulb changed - they did it and looked after my car like it was thier own. This whole thing only cost me 10 bucks! What a deal. They also cleaned my windshield.
I was going to get my oil changed too, as it was getting close to needing to be changed ( actually about 1500 miles under). Justin said that my oil level was fine, and there was no need yet. I appreciated the honesty.
So my verdict is this.
Any owner who takes the time to reach out to customers and follow up and then offer a second chance to gain customer loyalty deserves my business. Unlike Mr. Lube etc... this is a small business with a big heart. I will continue to come here, and recommend you give them a try too. Thanks to Mitch and his team. It's always hard to rate places when they have so many different points to evaluate on. IN terms of Quick Lube Plus, I found that employees here were warm, welcoming and very pleasant. They didn't make me feel awkward by making me feel like I was in the way like sometimes I feel at oil change places... where they tell you to get out of the car, then get in your car, then get irritated when you're not sure about something, etc. The attendant I had was understanding, not pushy, genuine, and made me feel like a valued customer. And I think their general attitude and how they made me feel, especially compared to other oil change places, made them deserve a 5 rating. In terms of speed of service, they were really quick and kept me informed of what to expect regularly. They gave me options for my car and didn't try and push anything on me, even offering tips and tricks on checking my oil. My only problem was that part of the package was an interior vacuum. I wasn't expecting anything super detailed but I was a little disappointed that they didn't do a little better of a job. It didn't need to be down to the corners but they definitely missed large spots and didn't do the back carpet. However I was so happy with their service and friendliness it wasn't a big deal... if I wanted to pay for a detailed interior vacuum I would. Anyway definitely go here if you need a quick oil change or inspection, I definitely will go back for the oil change part at least :)
