Srsly, how adorable can one place be?
Not what I expected to find in the midst of the cool cobblestone and historic architecture of Gastown, but there it is: urban, hip hop culture manifested in a 300-square-foot nail salon / street-boutique that fills a Vancouver void I didn't even know existed.
Adorned with turntables, low-rider bikes and a wall plastered with various and rad magazine pages, Queens Vancouver is what my pop-culture-loving mind imagines a salon in Queens-proper to feel like. It's a spot for women to chill out, shoot the shit, shop for clothes, buy some jewels, and of course, get their nails did (haaaay).
Time, unfortunately, was not on my side on this particular visit, but next time, next will be the time that I walk out of Queens with long, bedazzled, bejewelled, bright, bold pincers. Now where my girls at?Listed in: Which town? Gastown., Maybe it's a Girl thing?, FTRs!
