The boyfriend and I first came here shortly after moving to North Van as he had heard from a few people that it was one of the best pubs on our fair shore. We weren't disappointed.

It's definitely the type of place that has lots of regulars which always bodes well in my book. There are lots of seating options on 2 levels (plus patio) and they can accommodate groups (assuming you get there early enough to snag a few tables to shove together). It can get loud, especially on any sort of game night, but what popular pub doesn't? Service can also be a bit spotty sometimes but it's always friendly.

The menu (both beer and food) is extensive and chock-full of decent options. I've tried many of the food items and have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the steak salad (I don't know if that's the name... basically a green salad with perfectly cooked steak, goat cheese and nuts... mmm!). I can also safely say, if you like gravy (and I DO) they do a fine one. Anything involving garlic mashed potatoes and gravy is a sure bet.

This is not a good place for groups.  It's loud.  Nice pub though.  I think if you love to watch sports in a loud bar this is the place for you.   We went with a group a number of times, and sometimes they knew we were coming and other times had completely forgotten. One time we had called to book, they said they were fine to receive us, and when we showed up there was not a table in sight.  We now go to Sailor Haggars which is much better for a group.

When they were prepared for us, their staff was courteous, though sometimes very slow.

You would never guess that the food is as good as of is.  This place obviously cares about quality. And the people and staff are super friendly.  Ask for Chris or Brent, tell 'em Dan sent ya. :-)

I love this place. It's a hidden gem with fantastic food that took us by surprise when we decided to stop in. Service can be a little slow at peak times, but it's a comfortable place to chill out and have a pint or two while watching the game. Try the Yorkshire Pudding dish - it's *amazing*.
