We've been going to Queen West and Dundas West Animal Hospital (they are affiliated) with our dogs and cats for about 8 years now, and I can't say enough about them.  Our experience is specifically with Scott Bainbridge and Paula Fisher - they are such kind people and truly caring about our animals, as are the rest of the staff.  Scott has caught serious conditions early on in both of our dogs and allowed us to extend their lives by several years - and when it came time to put them down, they were so compassionate and considerate - Paula was so amazing - they even sent us condolence cards afterwards, signed by everyone.

And now with our newly adopted dogs I would never take them anywhere else, I trust them implicitly.  I love that everyone fawns over our furry kids there, and after any visit they follow up on the phone and make sure everything's okay.  They really are the best vets we've ever had.

We've been taking our dog to this clinic since she first joined our family at 3 months old. Being new dog owners we didn't know what to expect and relied on a friend's reco to go here.

After a few visits and no longer being a rookie at this I realized that the place doesn't give you a consistent experience nor a consistent vet.

We were already thinking about leaving them when a few days ago we got the icing on the cake.

Our dog was vomitting and very sick, we called close to closing time, they told us it's serious, told us they'd check with the vet if he could see us, we started driving to them when they called and told us that the vet can't see us.

Your job as a vet is to service the animal, especially if it's urgent. It's rare moments that require you to stay late and potentially help save an animal's life and I would think that these are the moments you pride yourself on your work.

After being turned down we took our dog to the emergency and she's still there today and we've incurred nearly $4000 in vet bills so far.

Thanks Queen West Animal Hospital for turning us away, the fact that you didn't care to see our dog that day is enough reason for us to leave you.

Our 16 year old dog started getting sick last Sunday and we took her in for bloodwork on Monday evening (they were able to fit us in).  On Tuesday I took her in for XRays.

Everything came back okay but she kept getting worse.  The vet said it was old age.  We had to make the sad decision to have her put to sleep on Wednesday.

In our time of sorrow and loss, the staff were very comforting and respectful to us.

If you treasure your animals as much as I do, the last heartache you ever want to face is to see them treated by uncaring savages.  I've been there, and for me, these guys were anything but.

Truly compassionate, truly professional, truly understanding.  What more could you possibly ask for for your furry one's caregiver? I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Thank goodness for the lovable creatures at Queen West Animal Hospital who made Lily's first visit to the vet so great!

Today was our first "puppy visit" which could easily have left Lily (our 14 week old Yorkshire Terrier) scarred and not wanting to come back. Luckily this is not the case! They were so sweet with her and so gentle she didn't even notice that she got a needle.

Also they were very patient with me as I emailed and phoned around because I accidentally forgot to bring Lily's medical records. Oops, sorry guys! We even got a puppy starter pack travel case with a brush, toothbrush, some helpful reading, and a plush Kong toy! Lily loved it!

At the end of the visit their rates were great too.

I could not ask for anything more, and we're actually looking forward to our next appointment!

The people who work here are not only professional, they really care.
We have been visiting Queen West Vets for the past 2 years since we adopted kittens from the shelter. While our kittens were always nervous to be there, the vets and all the staff showed them love and affection.
A few weeks ago, one of our now cats was hit by a car and killed. The staff at Queen West Vets has been amazing. One of them called to wish us condolences afterward, and we just got a lovely thoughtful card in the mail from another staff member thinking about our lost cat. They may be busy there sometimes, but the caring staff really make for a remarkable experience.

This place simply rules when it comes to animal care.  From the first time we took our rescued dogs here they have treated us extremely well.  The staff is amazing and they truly care about the animals and their owners.  On many an occasion they have gone out of their way to make special arrangements for my one dog that has some vet related anxiety issues and have always found creative ways to accommodate him.

All vets are expensive, but I find Queen West fairly reasonable.  They have never forced a treatment or expense on us and have actually been quite good with helping to minimize our bills.

Scott Bainbridge is my preferred vet as he has taken the time to get to know me and my 2 dogs.  The dogs love him and he's always there when we need him.

Love the folks at Queen West Animal Hospital.  The admin staff are all very plesant, the vet staff very competent.  The prices and services very fair.

We have 3 dogs, 3 cats and a bird.  Have never had to take the bird in, but the others all visit and we're very happy with the clinic.

This is by FAR the best vet office I've ever been to.  They are very professional, but also caring, considerate and helpful.  They give honest advice and opinions, but never try to guilt you into an up-sell as so many others are known for.

They are absolutely wonderful to my 130lb suck of a dog, giving him lots of attention and snuggles (his two favorite things) so as a result, instead of dreading the vet, he LOVES it there.  He's excited to go in, and happy the whole time he's there.

We also take our cats here and they are equally as lovely and caring with them.  What really set them apart for me is when one of our cats was very ill for quite some time, and in the end had to be put down.  They were very thoughtful, compassionate and tactful.

I have and will continue to recommend this vet to anyone with pets.  We've seen a few of the vets in the office, and they are ALL wonderful.

    EDIT: 5/6/11
I'm really wondering about this place now. The vet called and said they'd received my pet's stool sample, that he definitely had worms, yes, they were sure that it was my pet's, why I am asking? and that they had the meds ready to purchase at the front desk. EXCEPT I hadn't yet submitted my furball's poo! Their call was only a few days from the date the appointment that I had cancelled. Call me paranoid but if they were able to magically find worms in my pet's as yet non-existent sample, that kind of makes me wonder about their reliability as well as whether they get commissions on the sale of pet meds. Just saying.... incorrectly giving out meds is troubling .

    Initial review:
Okay so I've only been here a few times and have nothing with which I can compare but the clinic seems great so far.

So far and after calling several places, their vaccine prices (inclusive of the vet fee) are pretty decently priced. The staff were super friendly, and helpful in every possible way. I got a handwritten card after my first visit thanking me (and my pet) for choosing them.

It's a small clean, quiet clinic with young, hip employees (or at least that's the impression that I got).

There is some product recommendation at the end of the visit as the staff urge you to buy their "vet-approved" fare for your animal. If you are impervious to marketing, this shouldn't be a problem. If you unfortunately  can indeed be convinced that your pet should be on Purina-Vet-Approved or Hills-Science diets then there at least appear good deals on the food over here.

I honestly can't even articulate how wonderful the staff is at both Queen and Dundas West Vet (same company, two locations). I had two cats pass away within months of each other. Dr. Fisher came to my home to put one of them down. I couldn't have imagined doing it any other way. The entire staff was SO supportive and compassionate. They really do care about you and your animal. Their number one goal is to make you and your animal happy and healthy. I would recommend these guys to everyone. Dr. B and Dr. F are amazing human beings. Trevor on the front desk is also awesome. They all are!

This place was awesome. They were very up front about which services were musts and which were nice-to-haves. My dog was treated like a prince and they even clipped his nails while he was having blood taken. He got so many treats and so much praise that he made it through the whole appointment without shaking the whole time. This and Eglinton Veterinary are the two absolute best in the city.
